Perhaps it’s time to reimagine what is and isn’t possible in Scottish football.
Talk of an era ending and a new one beginning may not be as outrageous as many of us have been made to believe, especially after this heartfelt win in what was deemed to be their most potent test of their mettle this season.
The Old Firm hegemony has lasted for 40 years. Everyone has a fatalist mentality. Rangers were involved if it weren’t Celtic.
Many, perhaps every fan in the country, has since resigned to never seeing a team from outside the big Glasgow two winning the top league. The next day, it was simply accepted.
A pretender has occasionally popped out of the blocks in the first few weeks, winning games, throwing shapes, and threatening to derail the course of events, but the Glasgow goliaths have always been against them. Now, then?
It’s true that it’s painfully early in the season. In a somewhat revealing observation about how he views the landscape, Brendan Rodgers later noted that there are only nine games left to play and 29 more.

“Heroes are unquestionably the best team in their country.”
Hearts is unquestionably the best team in the country right now, based on what we can tell. All we can do is wait for that. They have defeated Celtic and Rangers successfully. They are out-playing, out-scoring, and-defending everyone.
They won this game not just because of their explosive attack and the holy trio of Alexandrios Kyziridis, Lawrence Shankland, and Claudio Braga, who have again scored goals and created goals, but also because of how well they were all friends, have a high work-rate, and have a high self-esteem.
When Shankland made it 3-1 on a day of noise and color, Hearts fans yelled their own version of the Celtic Poznan, which all connected, back to the pitch, and bounced up and down.
That and more was done by them. We shall not be moved is a song that everyone should sing along to while cheering every heart for a while. Their utterances resembled “is this all you have got?” to their visitors, in a message. And yes, Celtic lacked everything.
In three of Hearts’ last four games, three goals have been scored, and five of those goals have been scored in five of the nine Premiership games.
They defeated Celtic by averaging 7 shots on target against their seasonal average of 5.7%. Kasper Schmeichel from Cleveland recorded more saves this season than in any other league game.

Here, Derek McInnes is creating something significant. He is aware of it, but he has far too much intelligence to care about it. Right now, he is meticulous, powerful, and impressive.
Watching Hearts is fun, and McInnes gives you the impression that much more is in store. Some players just returning to the team after injury, while others are just getting started. He hopes not to be bit-parters but rather big-timers.
Many of the things that were in the mind’s eye were memorable. Hearts’ unrelenting approach to the start of the game, going at Celtic’s jugular in a way that only true believers can.
Instead of making a routine clearance, Dane Murray panicked and hoofed the ball into his own net.
In the fifteen minutes that followed, Celtic put it on. They did not score, but they should have done it once more. They would be sorry for it.
You can’t fake confidence, you can’t. You either possess it or deprive it. The Hearts’ ability to win was the best illustration of their merits so far.
And a warning of Celtic’s weakness. It’s a fool’s errand to invite Kyziridis inside and give him a crack, but they did it and they lost ground once more.
Making foolish decisions while submerged in the cosh is not a way to avoid a Tynecastle trial, but Murray did it when he sent Braga to the penalty at Shankland.
Why shouldn’t Hearts Folk Dream?

If you didn’t remember that Hearts or any other non-Old Firm club were supposed to win the league, you could only draw the conclusion that Rodgers’ huff and puff champions are in serious trouble.
Since George Burley took over as club manager twenty years ago, those particular Hearts challenges were thrown out by the club’s owner at the time, Vlad Romanov. They haven’t looked this good.
Some people believe that Hearts fans should dream too soon in the campaign. Why not, though? Football isn’t about having ideas for what might come next?
In recent years, they have experienced a lot of misery in these parts. The worst kind of killjoy is to tell a Jambo to calm down as their team climbs to eight points in front of the table.
Since 1960, they haven’t won the league. Long way to go. Without a doubt, Dangerous Ahoy. These are exciting times, but there are also injuries and bumps in the road.
Highlights: Hearts vs. Celtic
It is strong. It is focused. The chairman of Brighton, Tony Bloom, who has invested £10 million in a minority stake in the club, supports this with his money and wisdom.
Additionally, Jamestown Analytics’ ability to locate players like Kyziridis, an uncapped Greek who was playing in Slovakia, and Braga, a second-tier player who was playing in the second tier of Norwegian football, supports this.
After years of struggle, the club is now unified on and off the pitch. Such stability would appeal to Celtic and Rangers.
People who are deeply committed to Scottish football never see things changing because they have always been. At the conclusion of the season, it’s possible that this opinion will still be true. Possibly . For the moment, the fact that there is a lot of uncertainty is sufficient.
A breath of fresh air can be had from the stand as people like Bloom watch us. He has already predicted that Hearts could win the division within ten years. In Scotland, that kind of conversation with an underdog is typically laughed off. Typically .
