Josh Kerr had lofty goals in mind when he won the men’s 1500-meter title in Tokyo when he won the men’s 1500-meter championship.

However, just over four minutes later, the Olympic silver medalist from Great Britain stumbled over the finish line, his calf injury putting him adrift in the field.

a field that included Jake Wightman, a childhood friend who suffered personal misery when his second world title was threatened.

Although Kerr was left with only frustration and regrets, his fellow Scot received a consolation medal that was significant.

Concerned that he was still present on the Tokyo track’s second circuit.

Concerned about the final lap as Kerr suddenly limped, skipped, and then hopped his way around the top bend as his rivals scurried clear.

It was remarkable for him to grit his teeth and drag himself completely to the finish line. And that he did it in 11:23 seconds, which is a sign of his perseverance.

According to BBC Sport commentator Steve Cram, who won the 1984 Olympic silver medal in the same year, “there was nothing there for him.”

“I only believe that he was injuring himself.” He won’t say why he might have been carrying something, but there was something wrong at the beginning.

He wasn’t in the right position, so it might have just been playing on his mind, he said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if it just happened during the race.”
