Sydnie Christmas put on a performance on par for Britain’s Got Talent as Britain’s Got Talent prepares to return to the big screen.

The singer, 29, took to the stage at the Glasshouse in Gateshead on Wednesday night, describing the venue as “stunning”. Prior to the show, she had stated that she hoped that the support of all those who voted for her on the ITV talent show last year would be used to offset the cost of her tour. And she certainly did that, too, and more.

Throughout the two-hour session, she led the audience on a gripping and occasionally emotional journey through her life. She openly shared details of her dramatic, and occasionally difficult, rise to fame as she showcased a number of flawless cover ballads, including those by Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra.

In the song “Picture The Music,” Sydnie Christmas took her fans on a musical journey.

As she geared up for a concert with her fans before the performance, she had admitted that she “tells stories.” “It’s just weird telling my own story. I’m not acting as anything. I’m just simply being myself, which I’ve actually found the most scariest thing yet, but it’s been amazing”.

The audience was moved throughout the night by her vibrant personality, which had helped her win the hearts of the entire country, with authenticity. Of course, her immensely powerful vocals also helped!

Marilyn Monroe’s Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend was performed by her as she kicked off the show. The north-eastern audience was in for a treat, it was obvious right away. Sydnie effortlessly mashup sentiment and sarcasm before continuing to let her story unfold through her music as she combined the music with tales from her early life. As she continued on with a jaw-dropping cover of Tomorrow, you could hear a pin drop, just as she did when the BGT Golden Buzzer was given to her.

As she sang a Lauryn Hill medley to a long-time friend, the treats kept coming. However, it wasn’t just Sydnie who stole the show on the night. To fulfill their own dreams, she welcomed special guests on stage. The SA Performing Arts Centre choir, which performed alongside her, showcased their own talents.

Their impressive tones fitted perfectly into Sydnie’s rendition of John Farnham’s You’re The Voice, with the star and her backing singers looking to be in their element throughout.

Sydnie continued to answer questions from the audience as the night progressed, much to the audience’s delight.

Before the choir had one last chance to join her for a classic medley of tunes, she continued to deliver tune after tune. Before resuming the pulsating performance to a standing ovation, Sydnie gave yet another note-perfect performance, this time in the form of My Way.
