A PR expert has warned that Bonnie Blue, a popular adult entertainment star, runs the risk of alienating her fans with endless publicity stunts.

A PR expert has warned that Bonnie Blue’s never-ending publicity stunts are detrimental to her career.

Celebrity management expert Mayah Riaz points out that the OnlyFans star’s latest attempt to mislead her followers will only erode trust from her fans – and could well derail her entire career.

It comes after 26-year-old Bonnie – real name Tia Billinger – posted a clip of herself apparently being arrested to her social media pages, with her ‘sister’ claiming the porn star was being held by police.

However, there were several warning signs that the scene was being staged for clicks, including the police car’s “Americanized” arrest style, where Bonnie places her hands on the bonnet, the officers’ lack of plastic gloves, and the cop car’s license plate, which was used by a prop rental company to hire out police cars to TV and film crews.

“As someone who works in celebrity PR, I’ve seen more publicity stunts than hot dinners,” Mayah tells the Mirror.

Bonnie Blue is clearly cashing in, noting that “teaching drama for attention is practically a currency in this industry.” Bonnie needs to realize that while they can bring someone into the spotlight, they also have a shelf life, especially as her audience begins to take notice.

Bonnie Blue obviously plays the long game when it comes to fame because she’s trying to change perception rather than just chasing clicks. Not just the shock factor, though. It involves control. Bonnie places herself at the center of a narrative she wants to write by staging viral moments. She is well-versed in the fact that outrage spreads more quickly on social media than facts. And she is using that momentum to shape her public image, which screams “broken” and “chaotic,” but it appears she doesn’t care because it’s always headline-worthy.

Mayah continues: “From a PR perspective, what Bonnie’s doing is classic ‘mainstreaming through visibility’. She’s actively trying to blur the lines between sex work and celebrity culture by showing up publicly in non-explicit ways. The fake arrest, like her fake pregnancy claim before it, places her in everyday news cycles, not just adult platforms. It’s a calculated move to soften the stigma around her OnlyFans career and get people talking about her, even if they don’t engage with her content. She is wise to be thinking of the long game but is absolutely going the wrong way about it.

“She’s also tapping into a powerful formula, which is do something shocking; it goes viral, then the ‘redemption arc’ with a charitable or emotional twist. If this follows the same plot lines as her pregnancy stunt, expect a follow-up story where she reveals it was to raise awareness or funds for something ‘good’. That way, she turns critics into clickers and maybe even supporters.”

However, Mayah warns, it’s not as straightforward as Bonnie might have liked. Because audiences are becoming educated, there is a flip side. She claims that overusing stunts can cause what she refers to as “PR burnout.”

“Sustainers tune out or, worse, unfollow if they believe they are being manipulated too frequently.” I would say that has already begun as a result of the tools she is using to increase her visibility.

She may see a rise in her follower count as a result of this “arrest” stunt, along with her other stunts, but only for a short while. Mark my words: those numbers will drop as quickly if there isn’t any meaningful change in content or engagement. The secret to success lies in having the right reasons for being remembered.

After becoming dissatisfied with her 9-to-5 job, Bonnie launched her OnlyFans career in 2023. After beginning as a webcam model, Bonnie moved on to more graphic sex work, making a name for herself by boasting about having sex with “abroadly legal” 18-year-old men and their fathers.

She claims to be earning £1.5 million per month from OnlyFans, and she previously claimed she was motivated to add more graphic content to the platform to earn more money. She added, “I was posting generic content and making good money when I first started,” but she said, “It’s never going to go crazy.” If you’re producing only basic content, you can’t expect to make a lot of money.
