Blake Lively speaks of “revenge” in a teaser trailer for psychological thriller Another Simple Favour, also starring Anna Kendrick.

It comes as she fights with her co-star and director Justin Baldoni in court after Lively filed a counter-suit against the movie star and several others connected to the scene.

Lively, 37, and Pitch Perfect actress Kendrick, 39, starred in 2018’s A Simple Favour which followed Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick), a single mother running a parenting vlog who befriends Lively’s character, Emily Nelson, a rich and secretive PR director, who suddenly disappears.

Emily is invited to Capri, Italy, for her lavish wedding by Stephanie in the sequel’s trailer. The teaser to the film starts with Emily strutting through Stephanie’s book-reading from her novel, The Faceless Blonde.

Reading a snippet of her book, Stephanie says: “I think about her all the time, the faceless blonde I thought I knew. Was she a glamorous PR executive or a cold-blooded killer”?

Emily accepts Stephanie’s invitation to her wedding, and Stephanie asks, “Why am I here?” while on the island. You respond, “You think I invited you because I want retribution for abducting me and taking my child away from me,” asks Emily. You assert that I “want to make you pay”?

The trailer shows a montage of explosions, glamorous parties, and a body on a stretcher, along with the words “revenge is a dish best served chilled, with a twist”. On May 1, Prime Video will release another Simple Favour.

Lively filed a revised complaint last week, which she claims adds “significant additional support and support” to her original accusations against Baldoni.

The Hollywood actress claims she can refute her earlier claims of sexual harassment and retaliation, and that other women have also reported to her about how he made them uncomfortable on set.

Baldoni has strongly denied all allegations and just last month, countersued Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, for £321 million ($400m) for an apparent attempt to destroy his reputation and career. Reynolds has also refuted the accusations made against him.
