Bello Turji On The Run As Son, Others Killed During Fierce Battle In Zamfara

Major General Edward Buba, the director of defense media operations of the armed forces, said the feat was made possible on January 17 during a coordinated clearance exercise involving troops from Operation Fanzai Yama and the air component along Shinkafi, Kagara, Fakai, Moriki, Maiwa, and Chindo axis.

According to the statement, the operation killed numerous terrorists, including Bello Turji’s son, a well-known terrorist leader who was hiding on Fakai High Ground.

The Army’s statement comes after the Arewa community’s announcement about his son’s and his family’s deaths, which triggered a wave of excitement among the posters.

Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, added that the terrorist lord was on the run on Saturday night when he broke the news on his verified X account.

According to the Army’s statement, high terrorist casualties and the destruction of their logistics hub were the result of the troops’ strength.

Additionally, several kidnapped hostages who had been held captive by Turji were rescued as a result of the operations.

“The terrorist leader, Bello Turji, in a gross cowardly act escaped abandoning his son and combatants”, the statement added.

Along with this, the troops claimed to have destroyed another terrorist kingpin camp, Idi Mallam, along Zango Kagara Forest.

During the encounter, the troops said they neutralised three terrorists and arrested three suspected collaborators.

“Furthermore, troops recovered two machine guns, one AK47 Rifle with a magazine containing 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. Additionally, 61 rustled cattle, and 44 sheep were rescued among other sundry items.
