Zara McDermott says ‘I miss you’ as she returns to UK amid romance with Louis Tomlinson

Zara McDermott informed fans she was back in the UK after she was snapped kissing and holding hands with her new beau One Direction star Louis Tomlinson in Malibu

Zara McDermott has been dating One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson weeks after split with Sam

Over the last few days Zara McDermott has done little to prevent the rumour mill kicking into action after she was recently pictured holding hands with her new man, One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 28, was spotted looking happier than ever while walking the streets of Malibu, hand in hand with Louis.

But it looks as though Zara, who split with I’m A Celebrity Star Sam Thompson in December last year, is now back in the UK – and the first place she visited was the bakery Gail’s.

Just before she jumped on board her flight to the UK, Zara, who found fame on Love Island, was seen in a romantic embrace outside Louis’ property. Sharing a picture of her coffee from the much loved bakery branch, fans were over the moon. Captioning her post, she wrote: “I’ve missed you.”

It has only been a matter of weeks since their budding relationship emerged and judging by their body language, it looks as though things are going from strength to strength. Louis was seen pulling Zara in closer to him before planting a kiss on her lips.

However, one person who will not be jumping for joy over her arrival back in the UK is Sam ,who has made no secret of that fact he has been struggling with the couple’s split.

The pair first got together in 2019 and Zara then made her debut on Made In Chelsea, where Sam was a regular. After five years together, the pair shared a home in London next door to Sam’s sister Louise Thompson and were paw parents to two cats.

Posting a video on social media in the New Year, Sam did his best to remain upbeat, a trait that has fans have come to know and love.

Taking to Instagram, Sam shared a motivational video and captioned it saying: “Good morning for us all incoming.” He went on to declare: “But I feel you’re going to have a really good day. You’re going to have a really good week – and I’m never wrong.”

He went on to say: “Lets have it! And there is a new episode of Stayin’ Relevant out, so check that out. Pete’s in a good mood for this one. “

However, despite his happy go lucky demeanour, sources close to the reality TV star revealed that he was left “blindsided” and devastated over the speed in which Zara moved on.

A source told The Sun last month: “Sam is obviously devastated by the news, he was with Zara for years and the break-up has hit him hard. He’s taking some time out to focus on himself – it’s completely blindsided and embarrassed him. “

They added: “He didn’t expect Zara to move on so quickly and he’s still dealing with the aftermath of the split. He’s not found the split easy and has been trying to keep busy and take his mind off it by focusing on work, friends and family. But everyone can see that he’s struggling and just needs to take some time out to reassess things. “

Thankfully for Sam, he has been surrounded by a close circle of family and friends, including Staying Relevant co-host Pete Wicks. The source claimed that Sam is determined to put the relationship behind him and move on to focus on future work projects and has been focusing on is the live tour of his podcast at the O2.

Leigh hold off Warrington to go third in Super League

Betfred Super League

Leigh (6) 18

Tries: Ipape, O’Neill, Halton Goals: O’Brien (3)

Warrington (2) 14

Leigh Leopards held off a strong fightback to beat Warrington Wolves and claim third place in Super League.

Brilliant playmaker Lachlan Lam masterminded a dominant first hour from the Leopards as tries from Edwin Ipape, Ethan O’Neill and Frankie Halton looked to have put the home side out of sight.

The Wolves rallied as Toby King and Matty Ashton went over for tries to cut the lead to just four points, but Adrian Lam’s team, whose defence has been key to their good form this season, held out.

The match was a dress rehearsal for the Challenge Cup semi-final on May 11, but Wolves also knew that a victory would move them above their local rivals following a run of four wins from their previous five games.

Hooker Danny Walker filled in for the absent George Williams, who had surgery on an ankle injury on Thursday, but the loss of the playmaker hit the Wolves badly.

In stark contrast the mercurial Lam was at the heart of everything for the home side at Leigh Sports Village.

He created chance after chance in the first half, but Halton spilled the ball after being set up by the Papua New Guinea international, who also teed up David Armstrong to touch down, and then dribbled the ball over for what looked like another score, only for both to be disallowed for infringements by team-mates following video reviews.

Zane Musgrove was held up over the line at the other end, and it seemed that Sneyd’s early penalty was going to provide the only points of a tight first half.

Lam summoned one last piece of magic to change that, as he stepped through a gap and then flipped a pass up for Ipape to go over the line and give Leigh the half-time lead.

Lam then came up with a neat delayed pass to send O’Neill racing over the line, and as the Warrington defence kept a careful eye on their tormentor, it left room for his half-back partner Gareth O’Brien to send Halton over and make it 18-2 as O’Brien converted all three tries.

Warrington dug deep and when Sneyd unexpectedly kicked the ball through on the fifth tackle, Toby King dashed in to register their first try.

‘Two soft tries’ – Burgess reaction

Warrington coach Sam Burgess told BBC Radio Merseyside:

“Parts of our game I was happy with. They’re a physical side and tough to beat here, and we probably started the second half a little bit slowly and gave up two soft tries. It was a tough task after that.

“It was a great contest. We gave it a go and missed a couple of opportunities, or the game could have gone the other way.

Leigh Leopards: Armstrong; McIntosh, Hodgson, Brand, Charnley; O’Brien, Lam; Trout, Ipape, Mulhern, Halton, O’Neill, Liu.

Interchanges: Pene, Tuitavake, Davis, Hughes.

Warrington: Dufty. Thewlis, Tai, King, Ashton. Walker, Sneyd. Yates, Powell, Vaughan, Russell, Fitzgibbon, Currie.

Interchanges: Philbin, Crowther, Musgrove, Wood.

The Who in bombshell Zak Starkey statement on his future – ‘This blew up very quickly’

Long-time drummer Zak Starkey has been dramatically reinstated by The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend after being sacked over his drumming performance at the Royal Albert Hall

The Who’s Zak Starkey is back in the band after a dramatic u-turn by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

The band had said that they were parting company with the drummer earlier this week. The Mirror broke the news that he was sacked saying that there were concerns over his drumming at a Teenage Cancer Trust show. But Townshend said they had now welcomed Zak back in the fold

Townshend said: “He’s not being asked to step down from The Who. There have been some communication issues, personal and private on all sides, that needed to be dealt with, and these have been aired happily.

“Roger and I would like Zak to tighten up his latest evolved drumming style to accommodate our non-orchestral line up and he has readily agreed. I take responsibility for some of the confusion. Our TCT shows at the Royal Albert Hall were a little tricky for me. I thought that four and a half weeks would be enough time to recover completely from having a complete knee replacement. (Why did I ever think I could land on my knees? ) Wrong!

“Maybe we didn’t put enough time into sound checks, giving us problems on stage. The sound in the centre of the stage is always the most difficult to work with. Roger did nothing wrong but fiddle with his in-ear monitors. Zak made a few mistakes and he has apologised. Albeit with a rubber duck drummer.

“We are a family, this blew up very quickly and got too much oxygen. It’s over. We move forward now with optimism and fire in our bellies.

“As for Roger, fans can enjoy his forthcoming solo shows with his fabulous drummer, Scott Devours, who it was rumoured might replace Zak in The Who and has always been supportive of the band. I owe Scott an apology for not crushing that rumour before it spread. He has been hurt by this. I promise to buy him a very long drink and give him a hug. “

The u-turn comes as sources claim the band were shocked by the reaction of fans to the news that Zak was being ousted. A source claimed: “They were taken aback by the level of feeling. “

Zak had earlier said he was “surprised and saddened” that anyone would question his performance at the Royal Albert Hall in March which came under the spotlight.

Zak said at the time: “I’m very proud of my near thirty years with The Who. Filling the shoes of my Godfather, ‘uncle Keith’ has been the biggest honor and I remain their biggest fan. They’ve been like family to me. In January, I suffered a serious medical emergency with blood clots in my right bass drum calf. This is now completely healed and does not affect my drumming or running. ”

He added: “After playing those songs with the band for so many decades, I’m surprised and saddened anyone would have an issue with my performance that night, but what can you do? I plan to take some much needed time off with my family, and focus on the release of Domino Bones by Mantra Of The Cosmos with Noel Gallagher in May and finishing my autobiography written solely by me. Twenty-nine years at any job is a good old run, and I wish them the best.”

Zak has been The Who’s full-time drummer since their Quadrophenia Tour in 1996. A spokesperson for The Who said on Tuesday: “The band made a collective decision to part ways with Zak after this round of shows at the Royal Albert Hall. They have nothing but admiration for him and wish him the very best for his future.”

An insider told the Mirror at the time: “It’s a little acrimonious to say the least. ”

Now details of that gig have emerged including how the front man threw his hands up to complain and repeatedly stopped the March 30 gig. At one point Daltrey complained: “All I’ve got is drums going boom, boom, boom. I can’t sing to that” He added during the show: “To sing that song I do need to hear the key, and I can’t. ” At another moment, he complained: Roger said, ‘It was going so well… I can sing in any f***ing key you want, but I need to hear which one. ”

An insider said: “It was the final straw for the band and they knew they had to pull the plug. It’s a shame but it is what it is. ”

In 2004, Zak joined Oasis, filling a void left by long-time member Alan White’s departure. The band split in 2009. He was rumoured to be involved in the upcoming Oasis reunion. The Mirror revealed last August how Zak was banned from staying at a Victorian manor house on Airbnb after he let slip he was planning a party.

Indian Premier League, Ahmedabad

Delhi Capitals 203-8 (20 overs): Axar 39 (32), Ashutosh 37 (19); Krishna 4-41

Gujarat Titans 204-3 (19. 2 overs): Buttler 97* (54)

Gujarat Titans won by seven wickets

Jos Buttler’s 97 not out led Gujarat Titans to an impressive seven-wicket victory against Delhi Capitals and took them to the top of the Indian Premier League table.

Former England captain Buttler came in during the second over and expertly marshalled a chase of 204 in sapping heat in Ahmedabad.

He was on 97 at the start of the final over but, with 10 runs needed off Australia quick Mitchell Starc, Rahul Tewatia immediately hit a six and a four to secure victory with four balls to spare.

That denied Buttler, who hit 11 fours and four sixes, an eighth IPL century but he still embraced his batting partner with a beaming smile.

Buttler gave up the white-ball captaincy when England were knocked out of the Champions Trophy in February but has responded with a good run of form in the IPL, with this his third fifty in seven innings.

He put on 60 with opener Sai Sudharsan, who became the tournament’s highest run-scorer by scoring 36.

The Titans were 74-2 when Sudharsan holed out at deep mid-wicket but Buttler soon hit five consecutive fours in one Starc over to swing the match in his side’s favour.

He put on 119 with West Indies international Sherfane Rutherford, who was caught at long-off for 43 at the end of the penultimate over.

Wicketkeeper Buttler also took a superb, diving catch in Delhi’s 203-8 to dismiss Vipraj Nigam.

Delhi, who were leading the standings until the defeat, reached their total thanks to contributions of 39 from Axar Patel, 37 from Ashutosh Sharma, plus 31 from both Tristan Stubbs and Karun Nair 31, but Gujarat did well to limit the damage.

Indie rock band The New Pornographers have spoken out after their drummer, Joseph Seiders, was charged with possessing child sex abuse images.

The 44-year-old musician was arrested for allegedly filming young boys in a Chick-fil-A bathroom on multiple occasions, according to police. His band mates have released a statement following the arrest, in which they expressed their horror at his alleged crimes.

A spokesman for the New Pornographers said in a statement: “Everyone in the band is absolutely shocked, horrified and devastated by the news of the charges against Joe Seiders – and we have immediately severed all ties with him. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted… “

The spokesman also added that the arrest did not affect the band’s plans moving forward and they will continue with their schedule without Seiders.

The drummer was arrested after an employee at Chick-fil-A reported to the police that a man had been going in and out of the toilets at the restaurant with underage children. This followed an 11-year-old boy reporting two days earlier that he was filmed by a man while using the toilet at the same restaurant, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Office in California.

After police allegedly found evidence linking Seiders to the two incidents as he was taken into custody. Search warrants were issued on April 9 and police went to his home and seized his car and mobile phone.

The sheriff’s department confirmed after the search that Seiders was charged with possession of child sex abuse materials, molesting a child, and invasion of privacy. The drummer has been held behind bars with a $1 million bail set, and will be due again in court on April 22.

Seiders became drummer for the New Pornographers in 2014, after playing with a number of other bands. The authorities have said that they are still investigating whether there are any more victims in the case.

The latest single by the band, called Ballad Of The Last Payphone, was released a week before their drummer’s arrest. Describing the inspiration behind the tune, the band wrote on Instagram: “This song was inspired by a Raymond Carver story called ‘Fat’, and tells the story of a person visiting the last payphone in NYC where it currently sits, in the Museum of the City of New York. The narrator doesn’t know why they are so fascinated by it, but to us it should be obvious. Obvious to me, at least. “
