He’s been making waves since he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house with his shock confessions and penchant for wandering around in the buff. Pop star Chesney Hawkes has been married to Krissy since 1997 and as we catch up with his wife – as well as their 21-year-old daughter, student Jesse – it’s clear they couldn’t be prouder of the One And Only singer, who is also dad to Casey, 23, and Indi, 19.

Here, Krissy and Jesse talk about what fans would be surprised to know about 53-year-old Chesney and what Krissy really makes of his saucy confession to housemates that they had once been in a sex club where he was whipped by “a very muscly butch guy in a thong” – and then by her!

So, what’s it been like watching Chesney in the Celebrity Big Brother house?

Krissy: Chesney is Chesney. What you see is what you get.

Jesse: He really is just himself.

What would surprise people most about him behind closed doors?

Jesse: Definitely how clumsy he is.

Krissy: My mum actually bought us these “unbreakable” plates from the States, but Chesney still manages to break them regularly. There’s also a classic story in our family, from when we got married in Indiana. We were playing wiffle ball in the backyard, Chesney ran to catch a

ball, looking up at the sky and crashed right into a tree – snapped it clean. From that day, he was nicknamed Tree Breaker.

Jesse, you were there when he entered the house. What was that experience like?

Jesse: Surreal. I’m at uni so I don’t see him that often. Seeing him walk up that stage was very emotional.

What did you think when he said he was doing the show?

Krissy: It was definitely a surprise. But one thing about Chesney is that he loves a challenge. Also, a close friend of his who passed away in January had told him, “Just say yes to things,” and that really inspired him to go for it.

Jesse: He was unsure at first, then he really went for it. I was proud of him for saying yes to something so out of his comfort zone.

Has anything surprised you about what he’s up to so far?

Krissy: The dad dancing. I always say he’s an amazing singer – but dancing is not his strong suit.

Jesse: Yeah, very much “dad dance” vibes.

Let’s talk about Chesney stripping naked for TV…

Jesse: Good for him. It’s a little weird for me as his daughter, but it’s his thing. He’s just really free. I can’t be biased just because I’m his kid.

Krissy: It comes from a place of, “I’m 53 and – in his words – f**k it! I don’t care what anybody thinks.” But, he’s not going around the house naked, he’s not a nudist – he just enjoys feeling free and being in nature. It’s about not taking yourself too seriously.

Krissy, Chesney dropped a bombshell about you whipping him during a sex club visit…

Krissy: OK, let’s clear that up… it wasn’t a sex club per se. It was a bar in LA with a little area upstairs – we popped up there for a second and thought, “Why not?” It was a one-off, spontaneous moment – not something we’ve got booked in the calendar regularly! For us, it’s all about fun and spontaneity.

Do you think he could win?

Jesse: I mean, part of me wants him to be evicted so I can see him again. Jokes aside though, I want him to go far. He seems really happy.

Krissy: Yeah, he’s loving the experience. He’s someone who wants to see things through once he’s started something.

What do you think he’s found hardest about being in the CBB house?

Krissy: Being away from us. We’re a close family and talk all the time.

Jesse: Even when he’s touring and loses signal for a day, he struggles. This is the longest we’ve gone without speaking. He brought a jacket from each of us to wear in the house – really sweet.

Who has he bonded with most in the house?

Krissy: He’s very genuine, so I believe any connection he’s made is real. I saw him taking tea and facemasks to Danny [Beard] and Angellica [Bell], and chatting with JoJo [Siwa] too.

Jesse: I don’t think there’s anyone he couldn’t have a good laugh with.

Anyone in there you’re not so keen on – or Chesney might not be?

Jesse: There was – Mickey Rourke. I wasn’t a fan.

Krissy: No one specifically, but if anyone’s being disruptive – like keeping people up at night – that would wind him up.

Mickey made a controversial comment to JoJo about her sexuality. Jesse, given that your dad had mentioned you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, how did you feel seeing that?

Jesse: When Mickey said that thing to JoJo – and my dad had previously mentioned that I, his kid, am part of the community – a lot of people got mad at him for not speaking up. But you don’t see everything. You see 45 minutes out of his 24-hour day and he’s the type of person who would have stepped in if needed. He would’ve spoken up. I really don’t like people saying bad things about my dad on that topic or saying I’d be disappointed in him – because I wouldn’t. It was making me upset seeing those comments because they don’t know what happened in there.

If you could sneak a message in, what would it say?

Jesse: That I’m so proud of him – and I’m stressed about my dissertation!

What do you miss most about Chesney?

Krissy: I miss our conversations and that connection – his hugs and the physical touch.

Which housemates are you looking forward to meeting?

Jesse: JoJo because we’re the same age.

Krissy: Donna [Preston] and Angellica seem fun – and Danny.

What‘s the first thing Chesney will do when he gets home?

Krissy: Sit on the stairs and let the dogs climb all over him. We have two – a big one called Finn, who he says is the love of his life, and a little one, Mischief.

Jesse: He is truly his own.

What about him in public would surprise people the most?

Jesse: You can tell how awkward he is.

Krissy: Chesney still manages to regularly break these “unbreakable” plates, despite the fact that my mother actually bought us from the US. Our family has a timeless tale that dates back to the day our parents were married in Indiana. Chesney ran to catch a wiffle ball while we were playing wiffle ball in the backyard.

You were present when he entered the house, Jesse. What was the outcome of that encounter?

Jesse: Surreal. I’m at uni so I don’t see him that often. Seeing him walk up that stage was very emotional.

When he said he was producing the show, what did you think?

Krissy: It was undoubtedly unexpected. Chesney does, however, have a talent for challenging things. Additionally, a close friend of his who passed away in January had told him to “just say yes to things,” which really gave him a boost.

Jesse: He was unsure at first, then he really went for it. I was proud of him for saying yes to something so out of his comfort zone.

Has anything about what he’s been up to so far surprised you?

The father dancing, Krissy. Although I’ve always called him an amazing singer, dancing is not his strong suit.

Jesse: Yes, very “dad dance” vibes.

Chesney and Krissy both said that you were whipping him during a sex club encounter…

Krissy: Okay, let’s make that clear: it wasn’t really a sex club. We went upstairs to a bar in LA for a while and asked, “Why not?” Not something we regularly have scheduled on our calendar, it was a one-time, spontaneous moment. It’s all about spontaneity and fun for us.

Considerably capable, do you think he will prevail?

Jesse: I mean, part of me wants him to be evicted so I can see him again. Jokes aside though, I want him to go far. He seems really happy.

Yes, he’s enjoying the experience, Krissy. Once he’s started something, he wants to see things through.

What aspect of the CBB house, in your opinion, has he found the most challenging?

Krissy: I’m far from home. We have a long, friendly conversation.

Jesse: He struggles even when he’s on tour and has a day’s worth of signal loss. We haven’t spoken in a while as of this point. We each received a jacket from him to wear in the living room, which is really sweet.

In the house, with whom has he most bonded?

Krissy: Given that he is very real, I think any connection he makes is real. I witnessed him chatting with JoJo Siwa and Danny [Beard] and Angellica [Bell] and consuming tea and facemasks.

Jesse: I don’t think he could laugh at a good joke with anyone.

Jesse: There was – Mickey Rourke. I wasn’t a fan.

No one specifically, Krissy, but if someone is disruptive, such as waking up at night, he would be shut down.

JoJo was made a controversial sexual remark by Mickey to her. How did it make you feel, Jesse, that your father had mentioned that you were a member of the LGBTQ+ community?

What aspect of Chesney do you find most lacking?

Krissy, I long for those physical touches and hugs that led to our conversation.

The band’s drummer Nick Mason has dubbed a newly restored version of the groundbreaking 1972 film Pink Floyd “moving and entertaining.”

From April 24th, Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII has been re-mastered with enhanced audio, enhanced audio, and heads to theaters and IMAX® worldwide. Mason, however, discussed the movie and its impact during a special VIP screening on Thursday night.

He continued, “Over the years, looking back at something like this, I must say, I found it quite moving and entertaining.

One of the things about the movie is how few cuts, roll backs, and drop ins are there. Adrian Maben, who actually came up with this idea, should be mentioned. We were blatantly unaware of this at the time! Adrian worked really hard to get us to travel to Italy and produce this film.

“This film was very much put together by outsiders, by Adrian, unlike most of the things we did,” he said. The thing about it that worked was that he had an audience-free live performance that we didn’t and did not see. Even without the audience, this arena and amphitheater had the vibe of a full-fledged concert.

The project that followed this one became a favorite of the fans and the biggest album ever. Nick Mason remarked on why Pink Floyd fans adore this time period, saying: “

“I don’t know,” I believe it’s a case of people getting hooked into something that’s completely different from what used to exist. The scene in studio two of the movie, which I recall watching, is one I recall watching. We were able to enter the small glass box at the top of the studio and watch the Beatles in that same room three years prior. You might be thinking, “Okay, things do move along, don’t they?” at this point.

The Dark Side of the Moon was released before Pink Floyd At Pompeii. The movie documents Pink Floyd’s exploits before it dominated the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic, where their music continues to be cherished today.

This unique and immersive film, which takes place inside the hauntingly beautiful Roman Amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy, captures Pink Floyd giving a private performance without audience. The performance, which was released in October 1971, features the storied “Echoes,” “A Saucerful of Secrets,” and “One of These Days,” which was Pompeii’s first live concert. The magic of the performance is enhanced by the amphitheatre’s captured images both during the day and at night.

The original 35mm cut negative was found in five obscenely labeled cans within Pink Floyd’s own archives, and the movie has been meticulously restored, frame by frame.

Katy Perry’s most cringe moments from Blue Origin space stunt she’s now regretting

The Blue Origin mission was highly criticised for its questionable environmental impact, and for the bizarre and dramatic antics of the crew, which included Katy Perry

Pop star Katy Perry was one of the six women that was blasted into space for a total of 11 minutes on the Blue Origin mission. The journey came with a lot of criticism from fans and celebrities alike, including Emily Ratajkowski and Vicky Pattison. At 2.30pm on Monday, the Teenage Dream singer, 40, set off on the 11-minute flight with author Lauren Sanchez, 55, TV host Gayle King, 70, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, 33, rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, 38, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, 57.

The 11-minute journey, which was funded by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, has been criticised for its questionable environmental impact, and for the bizarre and dramatic antics of the crew, including Katy. Not only did she sing for the crew, she also held up a setlist for her upcoming tour.

Following the trip, it’s thought the mum of one, born in California, has been experiencing second thoughts about partaking in the mission. While Katy reportedly questions her decision of “making a public spectacle” out of the mission, here’s everything she did during the Blue Origin mission…

Upon landing back on Earth, Katy was seen getting out of the capsule, holding a daisy up to the sky in honour of her four-year-old daughter before quickly kissing the ground.

While speaking to a reporter, she said she felt “super connected to loved” and thanked the reporter for calling her an astronaut. She also declared the all-female journey was “about love and belonging.”

“It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us. It’s about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging,” she said after the flight.

“And it’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.”

And a source told Mail Online she regrets “kissing the ground” after the flight as well as her “close-up camera moments” inside the capsule.

While floating around in space for several minutes, Katy held up a daisy to the camera. The daisy was in honour of her toddler, Daisy, who she shares with Orlando Bloom.

The California Girls singer also held up a butterfly cutout to the camera, which featured a setlist from her upcoming Lifetimes tour.

“Here’s exactly what was written on the butterfly cutout,” she wrote on Instagram.

Many said the butterfly was barely readable but she later posted a clearer shot of the cutout. The set list includes her songs Artificial, Chained to the Rhythm, Teary Eyes, Dark Horse, Woman’s World, California Girls, Teenage Dream, ET, Roar, I Kissed A Girl and many more.

Singing in space

The highly-criticised journey wasn’t complete without Katy singing a song. She held hands with the rest of the female crew and prayed ahead of lift off, with one yelling “look at the moon!” in excitement during the flight itself.

The group screamed with joy throughout their journey after they launched into space at 9.30am eastern time – 2.30pm UK time – from Blue Origin’s launch site in Van Horn, Texas, and on landing minutes later.

But there was also a poignant moment on board as she sang “What A Wonderful World.” Speaking after landing, Perry, 40, said she felt “connected to love” and described herself as the “crier of the group”.

She went on: “I think this experience has shown me you never know how much love is inside of you, like how much love you have to give, and how loved you are until the day you launch.”

Katy admitted she sang one song in space that she felt was only right – and it wasn’t one of her own hits. Instead, she belted out Louis Armstrong’s classic ‘What a Wonderful World’.

Asked about her reason for choosing the classic song, Katy explained: “I’ve covered that song in the past and, obviously my higher self is always steering the ship, because I had no clue that once day I would decide to sing a little bit of that in space. But I think that it’s not about me, it’s not about singing my songs.

“It’s about a collective energy in there, it’s about us, it’s about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging and it’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there, and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.”

It was previously reported Katy was bringing a daisy to the edge of space as a ‘beautiful tribute’ to her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.

As she was launched into space, her daughter was seen for the first time looking up in awe. It was said Orlando and Katy made the tough decision to introduce the kid to the world as the California Girls singer wanted her to “be proud of her and show her daughter that she can do anything.”

Daisy was shown on the live stream standing at the launch site in Van Horn, Texas, and waiting with other loved ones for the lucky astronauts to return.
