Tom Cruise desperately tries to hide girlfriend Ana de Armas as they leave Beckham bash

Tom Cruise looked a little worse for wear as he left David Beckham’s 50th birthday party in London last night – with rumoured new girlfriend Ana de Armas

Tom Cruise tried to hide the fact he had taken rumoured new girlfriend Ana de Armas to close pal David Beckham’s 50th birthday party in London last night – but the seemingly tipsy actor didn’t do a very good job.

The Mission Impossible star appeared to arrive on his own at Notting Hill’s three Michelin star Core by Clare Smyth restaurant. But as he left shielded by black umbrellas as he got in a waiting car, it became clear that Ana was indeed at the special celebrations.

In one hilarious snap, 37-year-old No Time To Die star Ana – wearing a black strapless dress – is seen ducking behind the car seat as a white tuxedoed Tom, 62, grinned and looked at the camera.

It’s thought Ana joined Tom in London earlier in the week to celebrate her own birthday in the capital on April 30. The pair have been linked since Valentine’s Day when they were spotted having dinner. Just a month later, they were seen leaving the Heliport in Battersea together, with Tom helping Ana into a waiting helicopter.

Tom has previously had romances with ex-wives Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes. He has also been romantically linked to Cher and Penelope Cruz. Last year, he sparked romance rumours with singer Victoria Canal. But now he’s introduced Ana to his close pals, it seems their romance could be getting serious.

Ana isn’t without her share of famous exes either. The actress has been engaged twice and married once. In 2011 she married Spanish actor and model Marc Clotet, but their marriage wasn’t meant to be and after just two years they divorced in 2013.

Following her split from Marc, Ana went on to date talent agent Franklin Latt. In 2015 they even got engaged. But the pair didn’t make it down the aisle and split in 2016. Later that year, Ana was rumoured to be dating her Hands of Stone co-star Edgar Ramirez after the pair were photographed kissing at Cannes Film Festival. But despite the snog, they both insisted that they were just friends.

She then dated Cuban artist Alejandro Piñeiro before her most high profile relationship to date – with Ben Affleck. Ana and Ben fell madly in love on the set of their thriller movie Deep Water in 2019 and were often spotted walking their dogs together during lockdown. However their romance only lasted around a year before Ben got back with ex Jennifer Lopez, who he married but has since divorced.

Before dating Tom, Ana was also linked to to the stepson of controversial Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel. But fans have expressed concern for Ana thanks to Tom’s dramatic, headline-grabbing past that has included multiple divorces and his connections to a controversial Scientologist cult.

Tom is said to have joined the Church of Scientology in 1986 after allegedly being introduced to the pseudo-religion by his first wife, Mimi Rogers. The organisation was invented by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard in 1954 and has since been slammed as a cult.

The secretive society reportedly sees members unlock different levels within the organisation by paying certain amounts of money to rise up through the ranks. Many who have escaped the organisation have claimed they have been followed and intimidated by other members.

Reports have suggested that Scientology played a role in the end of Tom’s marriages to both Nicole and Kidman and Katie Holmes, but this hasn’t been confirmed. Further startling reports suggested that Scientology rules dictated that Katie was forbidden from making any noise while giving birth to her daughter Suri, now 19.

Calderon sacked after Bristol Rovers’ relegation

Bristol Rovers have sacked head coach Inigo Calderon following the team’s relegation from League One.

Burton’s draw with Wigan on Tuesday confirmed Rovers’ return to League Two following two seasons in the third tier.

His last game in charge was a 4-1 defeat by Blackpool on Saturday.

Calderon was appointed on Boxing Day but Rovers only won six of his 26 matches in charge.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion defender was appointed on a two-and-a-half-year deal in December, with the club 19th in the table and three points above the drop zone, but he failed to steer them to safety.

The Bristol Rovers job was Calderon’s first in a first-team managerial role, with the 43-year-old previously being manager of Brighton’s under-18s team.

Calderon took over from Matt Taylor, who was sacked in early December after a year in the job.

However, the issues that Taylor’s team struggled with at the start of the campaign persisted under Calderon, particularly scoring goals and away form.

Rovers’ tally of 44 goals scored is the fourth-lowest in the division – with 25 scored during Calderon’s tenure – and the manager’s plight was not helped by the loss of strikers Chris Martin and Promise Omochere to season-ending injuries in early March.

The club also sit bottom of the table for away results, having won only three times on the road. Under Calderon there was only one away win in 12 matches, with just four goals scored.

Calderon had consistently been honest in his assessment of the side and last month said the team were playing like “a League Two side”.

“It’s been difficult. We knew it was my first chance in senior management and the fact I am not getting success has been frustrating for me,” Calderon said following their defeat by Reading.

‘An awful finish to the season sealed fate’ – analysis

Ed Hadwin, BBC Radio Bristol commentator

Inigo Calderon’s short tenure as Rovers’ head coach has been a difficult one for him. He was so excited to get the chance of his first senior job in football management he spent Christmas away from his family in Spain to prepare.

And while there were definitely some games where he – and the team – showed some real promise (back-to-back wins over Huddersfield and Bolton in a run of five home wins in eight games) their awful finish to the season sealed his fate.

He certainly made mistakes during that time, with some of his substitutions leaving fans scratching their heads. But potentially the biggest issues he’s faced weren’t of his making.

Rovers’ owner, Hussain AlSaeed, told us this season’s playing budget is the largest in the club’s history, and while plenty of the players recruited in the summer are undoubtedly talented, the blend of a lot of youngsters and a handful of very senior players wasn’t right.

Then in January, with all his senior strikers having had significant injury issues, they didn’t sign an experienced player as cover.

Strictly’s Wynne Evans claims recording of grim sex slur was ‘manipulated’

Strictly Come Dancing’s Wynne Evans hits back at claims he made a sexual slur against his co-star Janette Manrara as he accuses the press of manipulating the video

Strictly’s Wynne Evans has claimed the video of him making a sexual slur was ‘manipulated’

Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has claimed that a video taken of him making a sexual slur against professional dancer Janette Manrara was “manipulated.” The opera singer, 53, best known for his Go Compare adverts, was caught on camera in January making a vile “spit roast” remark towards a co-star.

The footage shows Wynne standing in the middle of a line-up of the entire cast in Birmingham as Janette, who is the host of the BBC spin-off show It Takes Two, is asked to join them.

Wynne was recorded making an inappropriate sexual comment to Janette Manrara, who acts as host on the tour, when she walked over to the group. He sang out: “Go Compare,” before adding: “Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick].” He then used the hugely demeaning term “spit roast” in reference to a lewd sexual act.

At the time, Evans said in a statement to the Mirror: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.” He was seen with the tour cast as they turned up to Liverpool after having to pull out of the Glasgow shows due to an injury. However, he was later pulled from the tour entirely.

Yet Wynne appears to have made a U-turn by denying making the comments caught on camera.

And fans were not quick to jump to his defence, instead one person took to Facebook and wrote: “You did say that awful comment about a woman just doing her job. “

They continued: “It was caught on camera. So how could the press have manipulated that?”

They added: “I’m sure you are sorry you’ve been caught and there’s footage to prove that disgusting thing you said. But how can you blame the press for something you did?”

Wynne replied: “The audio was manipulated. I didn’t say what they said.”

He then later followed up on his denial and wrote: “Thank you everyone for your support I promise you I have done nothing wrong, it’s been a manipulation and totally changing of the narrative of private conversations by the press.”

Following the video, Wynne pulled out of the nationwide tour and is also on a break from his BBC Wales show.

The broadcaster has launched an investigation into his behaviour and the conclusion is believed to be revealed in a couple of weeks.

A BBC spokesperson previously confirmed they had spoken to Wynne and stated they “do not tolerate such behaviour.”

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the live tour said: “We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.”
