Congolese, Rwandan leaders meet in Qatar, call for ceasefire in eastern DRC

For the first time since the M23 rebels, which were supported by Rwanda, seized two significant cities in eastern DRC, President Felix Tshisekedi and President Paul Kagame of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) held direct talks.

The nations called for an “immediate ceasefire” in eastern DRC in a joint statement released with Qatar, whose emir mediated the discussions in Doha.

The Heads of State then “remained in agreement” that the talks must continue in Doha to lay the groundwork for a lasting peace, according to the statement.

Rwanda has denied that it supports the M23 rebels, accusing the DRC of sending weapons and troops there.

Following the European Union’s sanctions against some of the group’s senior members, including leader Bertrand Bisimwa, M23 representatives pulled out of a&nbsp’s planned meeting with the DRC government in Angola on Tuesday.

The sanctions “seriously compromise direct dialogue and prevent any advance,” M23 said in a statement.

In addition, the EU imposed sanctions on the country’s mining agency chief and three Rwandan military commanders for their support of the M23 fighters.

In January, the rebels seized Goma, a crucial city in eastern DRC, before escalating to Bukavu in February.

About 100 armed organizations have been vying for control in the mineral-rich eastern DRC near the Rwandan border. M23 is one of them. More than 7 million people have been displaced as a result of the conflict, which has become one of the most important humanitarian crises in history.

‘Attack On Democracy’, PDP Rejects Emergency Rule in Rivers

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara, as the president of the state, for not having the constitutional authority to suspend him. &nbsp,

PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba claimed Tinubu’s proclamation was in violation of the Constitution of 1999 in a statement released on Tuesday.

The unconstitutional suspension of the democratically elected governor of Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and the appointment of an unelected individual, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (rtd), are, according to the PDP spokesman, an abrogation of the people’s right to choose their leader under the Constitution, according to President Tinubu.

Therefore, Mr. President’s action clearly resembles a state-capital attempt.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been bent on stoking the state’s crisis by creating a well-oiled plot to take control Rivers State, which will ultimately lead to the state’s truncation of democracy.

Read more about Tinubu’s declaration of state of emergency in rivers and Fubara suspension.

The PDP informs that the unwarranted enactment of emergency rule in Rivers State is a part of a larger, more vicious plot to decimate the opposition, establish a totalitarian one-Party system, and turn the nation into a fiefdom.

Without the need for the statutory approval of the National Assembly, the President has the exclusive authority to declare or carry out the declaration of an emergency in any case under Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution.

Mariah joked, “Is the lighting okay?,” as she took to the stage in true diva fashion. LL Cool J, who she has previously collaborated with, presented her with her award. because “bad lighting” is not what I like. Her words started off as laughter, but as they progressed, they started to slurr slightly.

She ended her speech by honoring Patricia, her late mother, who passed away last year at the age of 87. Her mother’s passing coincided with Mariah’s sister Alison’s 63-year-old passing. Her sister, who was previously struggling with substance abuse, is thought to have passed away in New York’s hospice system.

Mariah said at the time, “My heart is broken that I lost my mother over the weekend.” My sister lost her life on the same day, tragically, in a tragic turn of events. She continued, “I want to thank my mother, Patricia Carey, for giving me the gift of music.” I appreciate you so much. Love you, love you, and love you.

Fans had questions after the speech was later shared on social media. What is going on, one questioner inquired. Is she okay????”? Another said, “Something isn’t right,” and the other said the same. I was wondering the same thing, a third person said. She definitely has some issues.

Some people argued that her recent family splits were to blame, saying: “She’s a legend! You can see she is very missing her mother, so bless her. Not the conspiracies, another wrote. Give the woman a break after seven years of relationship and bipolar disorder, and she lost her mother and sister on the same day a few months ago.

Others speculated that Bryan Tanaka, a 41-year-old dancer, and her breakup with her in December 2023, were to blame for her split.

According to one fan, “Tbh Mariah hasn’t changed since she broke up with Tanaka.” She has since been completely lip-syncing, very lull-looking, and overall not the same as Mariah. Unfortunately, it seems like she has drastically altered her health. Hope she receives the necessary assistance to improve.

Another fan added: “I’ve been really concerned about her since last year tbh. She always just seems low energy and out of it. It may sound weird to say but I hope that it’s just her still recovering from the loss of her mother & sister and not something more.” The Mirror have contacted Mariah’s reps for comment.

Matthew Perry’s disgraced doctor spotted treating patients despite actor’s death

Dr. Salvador Plasencia was spotted atop his Malibu Canyon Urgent Care facility, where he was charged with Dr. Mark Chavez in relation to the death of Friends star Matthew Perry.

In October of this year, Matthew Perry passed away.

Matthew Perry’s disgraced physician, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who faces charges related to the late actor’s death, was recently spotted at his healthcare facility in California. Dr. Salvador Plasencia, 42, has been charged alongside Dr. Mark Chavez regarding the demise of the ‘Friends’ star.

On Monday, he was spotted by DailyMail.com’s photographers standing outside his Malibu Canyon Urgent Care facility. He appeared uneasy outside his business, dressed in a dark all-black ensemble and sporting blue trainers. Dr. Plascencia is described as a “trained” professional in both paediatrics and internal medicine on the clinic’s website.

Tragically, Perry suffered a lethal ketamine overdose in October 2023, discovered lifeless in his Los Angeles residence’s hot tub by his aide Kenneth Iwamasa. The allegations suggest Chavez sold ketamine lozenges to Plasencia, who stands accused of supplying them to Perry.

Despite the serious nature of their charges linked to Perry’s untimely passing, both doctors presently face “zero restrictions” on their medical licenses, allowing them to prescribe potent medications as reported by TMZ.

Both licenses are current and active, and the California State Medical Board has stated in a statement that it has not placed any restrictions on them.

Apparently, Plasencia was the subject of a disparaging rant in a text message about Perry’s worth, with one saying, “I wonder how much this moron will pay” after discovering the actor had sought ketamine. Plasencia has entered a not-guilty plea to the charges brought against him.

In one instance, it is revealed that Plascenica and Chavez worked together to pay Perry an outrageous $2, 000 for a ketamine vial. He spent only $12 on the drug in an effort to feed his addiction.

Chavez, 54, has admitted his involvement in the tragic and widely-publicized overdose case by entering a guilty plea this October.

Stephen Graham’s acclaimed ITV drama now available on Netflix amid Adolescence’s success

One of Stephen Graham’s “most liked” ITV dramas has been released for Netflix streaming for fans, and it also features a well-known sitcom star.

The Netflix drama Adolescence is receiving more and more positive reviews.

Viewers gripped by Netflix’s hit drama series Adolescence can now watch another of Stephen Graham’s acclaimed series on the streamer. The 51 year old actor also starred in the five part 2022 true crime drama The Walk-In, alongside a cast that includes Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman, Line of Duty’s Leanne Best, and Mrs Brown’s Boys star and creator Brendan O’Carroll.

The Walk-In aired on ITV in October 2022 and won praise from viewers and critics. Now available on Netflix, it is based on the true story of how Matthew Collins, of activist group Hope Not Hate, hatched a plan to infiltrate a British neo-nazi terrorist group called National Action, and helped to foil a plot to assassinate Labour MP Rosie Cooper.

In one episode, Brendan O’Carroll, best known as Agnes Brown in Mrs. Brown’s Boys, appears as Uncle Ronnie, while Stephen Graham stars as Matthew Collins and Dean-Charles Chapman as Renshaw and Andrew Ellis as young recruit Robbie Mullen.

In an interview with Radio Times in October 2022, Stephen explained why he decided to star in The Walk-In.

“I believe it is crucial that we have drama like this that is truthful,” she said. That’s the justification for why I pick the scripts I use. I enjoy entering people’s living rooms to engage in debate and discussion, and to try to provoke some discussion about what they are watching. As an actor, it’s important for me to be a part of something that makes a social commentary.

This Is England
The This Is England film and spin-off series starred Stephen Graham.

Lucy Mangan, the author of The Guardian at the time the series was broadcast, described it as “one of the best TV investments you can make” and claimed that Stephen Graham played Collins “with his customary unshowy commitment and aplomb, and convinces as completely as ever.” In The Independent, Nick Hilton merely posed the question, “Is Stephen Graham the best actor currently employed in British television?” in his evaluation.

However, MP Rosie Cooper, who was the target of the far right murder plot said in the House of Commons that she was not happy with the way the series was promoted at the time. “I have been used as a marketing tool by both Hope not hate and ITV,” she said. “What excuse is there for a press release that says, ‘Who is Rosie Cooper, and who wanted to murder her?'” She went on to say that Hope Not Hate and ITV should donate all the money and proceeds from the series to the Jo Cox Foundation, which was set up following the murder of MP Jo Cox in 2016.

Adolescence also brings the actor back together with former partners. The acclaimed Shane Meadows’ series This Is England 86, 88, and 90, as well as the acclaimed television series Help, in which Jodie Comer and Stephen co-starred in a drama set during the COVID-19 pandemic, were also co-wrote with him.

All those series are available to stream on Channel 4’s streaming service, while Boiling Point, which Stephen made with Adolescence’s director Philip Barantini, is available on BBC iPlayer.

Putin, Trump Agree Halt To Ukraine Energy Attacks But No Ceasefire

Vladimir Putin agreed to halt attacks on Ukrainian energy targets on Tuesday in a call with Donald Trump, but he vowed to reject a full ceasefire and demanded that all military aid for Kyiv be stopped.

The US and Russian leaders exchanged more than an hour and a half of conversation in hopes of resolving Moscow’s pro-Western neighbor’s three-year-old, full-scale invasion.

However, the highly anticipated call failed to deliver the breakthrough that Trump had hoped for because Ukraine had already agreed to a 30-day ceasefire with the Russian president.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Kyiv, stated in Kyiv that he supported the energy truce but that Putin’s refusal to negotiate a wider peace showed that he was not “ready” and continues to “weaken” Ukraine.

Trump insisted on his Truth Social network that they understood “we will be working quickly to have a Complete Ceasefire and, ultimately, an END to this very horrible War.”

However, the Kremlin made it abundantly clear that any genuine truce would be in vain and dependent on Russian demands that Ukraine and its Western allies would find difficult to accept.

Trump also demands the US judge be removed from international flights.

According to a Kremlin statement, Putin had already given his military the directive to halt strikes against Ukraine’s energy targets for 30 days. The leaders “concluded that the movement to peace will begin with an energy and infrastructure ceasefire,” according to the White House in a separate statement.

Throughout the winter, Russia has carried out a number of devastating attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Multiple Russian oil installations have been bombed by Ukraine using drones.

– Kyiv sirens

In a statement from the White House, which noted a “huge upside” for Russia and the United States, Trump and Putin also agreed that further peace negotiations would “begin immediately.”

However, according to the Kremlin, the “key condition” for peace would be the “complete cessation” of Western military and intelligence support for Ukraine’s troubled military.

A few hours after the call, air raid sirens rang out and air raid sirens sounded over the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, according to AFP journalists, in a show of resolve by Russia to continue its larger offensive.

Trump has stated that he intends to fulfill his election pledge to end fighting in Ukraine, and that he blames Joe Biden’s administration for promoting the conflict.

In February, he shocked the world by making an unexpected call with Putin and launching discussions with Russia to end the conflict, igniting fears among allies that he was turning too far in the direction of Moscow.

Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky engaged in a televised shouting match as he upended years of US policy supporting Ukraine.

However, Putin’s willingness to a ceasefire has been questioned by Western allies.

Following the Kremlin’s announcement, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to continue providing military aid to Ukraine.

Scholz remarked, “Ukraine can count on us.”

– Concerned allies

Trump’s attempt to force through a deal that punishes Ukraine without demanding concessions from Russia has also raised concerns among the Europeans.

Trump stated over the weekend that he was interested in “diving up some of Ukraine’s assets,” including land and power plants.

Ukraine had already agreed to Washington’s request for a full 30-day ceasefire when under US pressure. Additionally, it consents to a US plan to grant it preferential access to Ukraine’s mineral resources.

However, Putin has stated on numerous occasions that additional issues needed to be discussed, most notably those that centered on its maximalist demands that the West stop supporting Ukraine.

In recent months, Russia has made a grinding advance in southern and eastern Ukraine.

Parts of Kyiv’s Kursk region, which Moscow seized last year and was hoping to use as a bargaining chip, have also been seized back by Moscow.

Russia claimed on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces had earlier launched a ground invasion of the Belgorod region but were later pushed back, implying that the Russian-led talks were being undermined.
