Andrew Le Page is ready for a totally fresh start following his shock split from Tasha Ghouri. The Love Island stars surprised fans when they broke up earlier this year, having even teased wedding bells while planning a future together.

They met on the ITV2 dating show back in 2022 and won over fans as they gave insights into their life together after leaving the villa. Andrew and Tasha moved in together and got their own dog, while he made sure to support her when competing on Strictly Come Dancing last year.

However, it clearly wasn’t meant to be as the pair went their separate ways as Tasha prepared for her Strictly UK tour. Andrew moved out of their home while Tasha was away, with them both remaining tight lipped on their split.

He headed back to his native Guernsey to take time out of the spotlight and clear his head. Yet, it seems Andrew is now ready to move on with his life as he’s packed up and headed abroad.

Andrew revealed to his followers that he has made the bold decision to move to Dubai. He beamed as he showed his life packed into suitcases while at the airport.

The reality TV star declared: “Dubai here I come. New start back in the sand pit.”

Just this week, Tasha admitted to being in a “really bad place” following their split. During an emotional conversation with Kate Thornton on the White Wine Question Time podcast, the Strictly star delved into the difficulties she faced when the break-up hit the headlines.

She reflected: “When the break-up happened, it actually kind of happened around the [Strictly] tour. I just remember pushing it to the back of my head. I didn’t really deal with it that well, if I’m honest.

“When I was on the tour, the first week it kind of got leaked to the press. I didn’t have the control of how it happened. I remember it was just everywhere.”

Kate asked if it felt like a point of no-return once “everybody knows”. Tasha replied: “And especially when it involves public opinions, they kind of create a narrative and that’s what serves them best.”

She admitted: “I was just in a really bad place that week. A really, really bad place. I was kind of close to leaving the tour.”

It seemed Andrew wasn’t best pleased with Tasha speaking so publicly about their split as he decided to hit out via Snapchat. During a Q&A with fans, Andrew answered one follower questioning the “different negative narratives” around the relationship breakdown.

“Let’s just say I’ve had to bite my tongue with all of it. Truth always comes out at some point right?” Andrew said.

Referencing Tasha’s new book, other fans asked if Andrew will start a podcast to shared his side of the story. “To be honest it’s not my thing,” Andrew responded with. “We’re done and I’m moving on.”

In her memoir, Your Superpower, Tasha writes: “It’s a long process, but it’s really about having people out there, in other people to help them find their self-confidence with their disability.

“I knew deep down it wasn’t right. There were a lot of tears and it was a really hard time. Andrew was the man I was going to marry. We had discussed having children.”

Sir Rod Stewart sure knows how to let his hair down while on tour as he was filmed being led to his car by three minders. The legendary rocker, 80, seemed unsteady on his feet while on a wild night out in Krakow, Poland as he shows no sign of slowing down.

He is said to have been at the bar for five hours after watching Arsenal lose to PSG in Ronnie Drew’s Irish Bar. Sir Rod was surrounded by fellow Brits as he partied into the night, reminiscent of his younger years.

The Maggie May hitmaker allegedly left the packed venue at 1am but needed a little help getting back safely. He was supported by three minders, who took him to his car after he was done partying.

“Rod might be an octogenarian but he can still party like he’s in his 20s,” a source said. “When he left he had to be steered out by his minders and was stumbling a bit.”

“The punters in the bar loved it and were cheering for him,” they added to the Sun. The onlooker said someone shouted “where’s Penny?,” as Sir Rod got into his waiting car.

Sir Rod, who will play Glastonbury next month, was in the Polish city as part of his One Last Time tour. He has certainly made the most of his tour as he’s had wife Penny by his side.

Last month, Penny supported her musician husband as he prepared for his tour in Copenhagen. He donned a matching outfit with his Loose Women star wife, 54, in a loved up snap.

They were reunited with each other once again as they enjoyed their home comforts at the Hotel d’Angleterre in the Danish capital. Both Sir Rod and Penny sipped on their drinks in the stunning location as they lovingly held hands.

Sir Rod rocked a thick cream jumper with grey chinos at the five-star hotel as he added high-top white trainers and a silver chain bracelet. Penny matched her rock star husband was she wore a shirt in the same shade and kept her long blonde locks down.

Sir Rod’s mammoth seven-month trip across the world sees him perform in Europe, North America and South America. He will make a stop off at Glastonbury in June but revealed performing at the music festival would cost him a huge amount of money.

However, he insisted it was worth it in order to play to fans on the iconic Worthy Farm. Appearing on TALKSport last November he said: “It’s a great honour.” He admitted: “It’s going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,0000 (£236,832).”

Explaining the huge financial cost, Rod added: “I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, of course Glastonbury don’t pay for that. But I don’t care if it cost me $1million (£789,440), I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.”

The Mirror has contacted Sir Rod’s representatives for comment.

BBC Sport pundits pick WSL players of the year

The Women’s Super League’s player of the season will be crowned in one of 14 awards at the inaugural Women’s Professional Game Awards on Sunday.

The winners of each award will be voted for by the Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) board, the Football Writers’ Association and Football Supporters’ Association.

Steph Houghton (ex-Man City and England captain)

1. Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal)

Moving into midfield, she has a bit of everything for Arsenal this season. She was without a doubt their most creative player, she was the player that drove them on, especially when Renee Slegers became manager. She showed her experience at times this season in terms of, when it mattered, she stepped up for her team and scored some really important goals and assisted big goals along the way.

2. Sandy Baltimore (Chelsea)

A newcomer to the league, we were all surprised by where she was going to play. On that left side she was a constant threat for Chelsea. Every team that played against her really struggled with her forward runs but she also showed a lot of skill, a lot of physical presence, even though she is small in stature. Her creativity on the left proved why Chelsea were champions. They were very adaptable with her position and she just got used to it and got on with it.

3. Mary Fowler (Manchester City)

Emma Sanders (BBC Sport women’s football news reporter)

1. Phallon Tullis-Joyce (Manchester United)

The Manchester United goalkeeper had big boots to fill when she took over from Mary Earps but she has taken on the responsibility in impressive fashion. With 13 clean sheets she has been crucial to their Champions League qualification campaign and is arguably one of the best WSL signings of the past two seasons. She has shown leadership, confidence and consistency.

2. Alessia Russo (Arsenal)

It may have been a slow start for Arsenal but since kicking into gear, England striker Alessia Russo has shown why she is regarded as one of the best forwards in Europe. She has finished joint-highest goalscorer in the league and has lifted her team in moments when they really needed her. She has played with an aura that has been lacking in previous seasons. Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw would have been right up there had she not been injured for a large chunk of the second half of the season but Russo’s consistency in the new year means she makes my top three.

3. Sandy Baltimore (Chelsea)

Fara Williams (former Chelsea and England midfielder)

1. Erin Cuthbert (Chelsea)

If you talk about consistency, the player that can drive her team when they need it the most, I would say Erin Cuthbert does that in abundance for Chelsea. You saw in the League Cup final when they were playing against Manchester City, the game was running away from them and she comes on and scores the winning goal. She is an absolute standout.

2. Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal)

I don’t even have words to say. In terms of her technical ability, being moved from that left-hand side to more centrally, we have seen a much bigger impact from her with both goals and assists. The run they have been on I would put down to the work she has put in the middle with Kim Little.

3. Caitlin Foord (Arsenal)

Anita Asante (former Arsenal and England defender)

1. Alessia Russo (Arsenal)

She has been playing exceptionally well. She is scoring goals, she is full of confidence, she is leading from the front. She is coming into great form, especially going into Euro 2025, which is super exciting.

2. Sandy Baltimore (Chelsea)

She has transformed into a phenomenal left-back even though that is not her traditional position. She has been super influential throughout the season both in and out of possession and is a really exciting player to watch.

3. Olivia Smith (Liverpool)

Ben Haines (Women’s Football Weekly host)

1. Shekiera Martinez (West Ham)

The fact she has scored 10 goals since the start of the year and has only had a few months to show what she has got, the huge impact she has made since January has been unbelievable. And her goals-to-game ratio is incredible.

2. Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal)

There was so much excitement about her coming in. Everyone knew about her technical quality, her ability to pick up pockets of space and play between the lines with beautiful link-up play. But I don’t think a lot of fans were ready for how steely she would be, how quickly the would get up to the physical element and carry that consistently throughout the season.

3. Aggie Beever-Jones (Chelsea)

Rachel Brown-Finnis (former Everton and England goalkeeper)

1. Phallon Tullis-Joyce (Manchester United)

There were big shoes to fill with Mary Earps leaving in the summer. Was Phallon Tullis-Joyce ready to step up? Absolutely. She has only conceded 16 goals in the WSL this season, she has made some huge saves in huge games. It’s wonderful to see how much she has come on as a goalkeeper. Technically she is one of the best in the league and I have seen a lot of improvements over the season.

2. Olivia Smith (Liverpool)

So exciting to watch. She has been so difficult to mark, she has been Liverpool’s main player in regards to goal threats. She is so young with such an exciting future. Liverpool will do well to keep hold of her and should do everything in their power to do so. It’s really exciting to have her in the league.

3. Alessia Russo (Arsenal)

Ellen White (former Man City and England striker)

1. Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal)

She has been the best signing in my opinion. She has scored important goals for Arsenal and showed great skill and experience, as well as being able to dictate the tempo of play.

2. Phallon Tullis-Joyce (Manchester United)

She had big shoes to fill in replacing Mary Earps but has seamlessly become United’s number one. She has the joint-most clean sheets in the WSL this season and also won her first cap for the United States.

3. Sandy Baltimore (Chelsea)

Jen Beattie (former Arsenal and Scotland defender)

1. Alessia Russo (Arsenal)

She has taken her game to the next level. Her goalscoring tally says it all this season.

2. Johanna Rytting Kaneryd (Chelsea)

Her movement and energy in Chelsea’s front line set a precedent from early on in the season.

3. Millie Bright (Chelsea)

Newark mayor denies trespassing at US immigration centre following arrest

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka has denied trespassing at a new United States federal immigration detention centre following his arrest and release.

Baraka, who has been protesting the centre’s opening this week, denied his trespassing charge on Saturday, a day after he spent several hours in police custody.

The mayor has gone head-to-head with the Trump administration over undocumented immigration, pushing back against the opening of the Delaney Hall Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) 1,000-bed detention facility, arguing that it should not be allowed to open because of building permit issues.

Officials accused Baraka of trespassing and ignoring warnings to leave the Delaney Hall facility in Newark, New Jersey.

“I’m shocked by all the lies that were told here,” he said, adding he had been invited there for a news conference.

“No one else [was] arrested, I was invited in, then they arrested me on the sidewalk.”

Alina Habba, interim US Attorney for New Jersey, said on the social media platform X that Baraka trespassed at the detention facility, which is run by private prison operator Geo Group.

Habba said Baraka had “chosen to disregard the law”.

Tricia McLaughlin, an assistant secretary for public affairs with the US Department of Homeland Security, said in an interview with CNN on Saturday that the investigation was ongoing and that more video from the scene would soon be released.

She also accused Baraka of playing “political games”.

Baraka was taken into custody by the ICE agents in a scuffle at the facility.

He had joined several lawmakers at the detention centre for a demonstration on Friday.

Video of the incident showed that Baraka was arrested after returning to the public side of the gate to the facility.

‘Moments to remember’ – Bompastor savours ‘special’ season

“I’m only about titles but Sonia [Bompastor] said she’s after the records – so now so am I,” said Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert.

The Scotland midfielder, 26, is used to chasing trophies but when you have already won them, you need new targets.

Her side delivered the goods on Saturday, grabbing a stoppage-time winner against Liverpool to ensure they ended the season unbeaten, creating “history” in the process.

They are the first Women’s Super League (WSL) club to remain ‘invincible’ in a 22-game campaign and the champions broke their record points tally to do it.

It capped a brilliant debut season for French manager Bompastor and Chelsea can still achieve a domestic treble, having also lifted the Women’s League Cup, and face Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup final on Sunday, 18 May.

The scene was set at Stamford Bridge to celebrate in front of their fans in the final game of the season and it was fitting that academy graduate Aggie Beever-Jones claimed the winner after 91 minutes in their 1-0 victory.

Smoke from the fireworks behind the trophy stage drifted across the pitch as players danced in front of the stands – Bompastor watching on with her four children by her side.

“It was wonderful,” she said, when asked how special it was to have her family alongside her. “I had goosebumps just because sometimes behind the scenes [my children] cry because you are travelling and not home.

“It can be difficult, but they understand your job and it’s even better when they can share these moments with you. They know what it means for us.

Sonia Bompastor and assistant Camille Abily celebrate with their children Reuters

How does this season compare?

Winning a sixth successive WSL title is one thing, but going unbeaten is another.

It is only the fourth time an English women’s team has gone a full campaign without suffering defeat, excluding the curtailed Covid campaign in 2020.

Chelsea did it themselves in 2017-18 after 18 games, while rivals Manchester City (2016) and Arsenal (2012) had achieved the feat previously in 16 and 14-game seasons – but none in 22 matches until the Blues.

Bompastor’s side also eclipsed Chelsea’s own points record set in 2022-23 (58) with their success against Liverpool taking their tally to 60.

To play this video you need to enable JavaScript in your browser.

The records, like the trophies, continue to roll in.

“To be able to achieve that, for me, is more than the title,” said Bompastor, as she reflected on the magnitude of their unbeaten campaign.

She revealed it was not something she had thought about until Chelsea had the WSL title wrapped up with victory over Manchester United, with two games to spare.

But defender Lucy Bronze had her eyes on the record for months, stating their goal to be ‘invincible’ back in January following a 1-0 win over Arsenal.

They did not shy away from their ambitions in the end with the word “unrivalled” printed on the front of Saturday’s match programme, surrounded by flowers bearing the dates of their eight league titles.

Having come out on top against their rivals yet again, are they the greatest WSL team in history?

“It’s difficult to say that. For the club to be able to win six titles in a row means we have been consistent and every year we have managed to win trophies,” added Bompastor.

“Maybe the fact this year we were unbeaten makes it even more special because it never happened before.

Where it could have been lost

“Consistency” was the word repeatedly used by Bompastor to sum up Chelsea’s campaign but it has not been easy.

With the former Lyon boss stepping into the big shoes left by Emma Hayes, the squad went through what they described as a “transitional season”, bedding in new players and adapting to the new manager’s style and coaching methods.

Hayes herself was one of the first to congratulate Chelsea, posting on Instagram that their achievements were “so, so deserved”.

The results were immaculate but not the performances – they won by one-goal margins on 10 occasions and trailed four times during the season.

Of their 56 goals, 17 came in the last 15 minutes of matches (30.4% of their total), and eight were scored in stoppage time.

Between 26 January and 2 March, they dropped two points and won four successive matches by a one-goal margin in a period where they had to grind out results.

“It is sometimes difficult to describe my feelings and emotions. We had the right mentality from the beginning of the season until the end,” said Bompastor.

“We have been consistent even when sometimes performances were not the best – we always found a way to win and get the three points.

“I think maybe the game we had against Arsenal [in January] was probably when we started to realise we were in a really good position to win the league.

“The second part of the season was more difficult because we were not as dominant as we would have liked to have been.

“For me, it is a great achievement because we were able to be consistent, unbeaten, and in this league it means a lot because it is really competitive.”

All-in-all, Chelsea’s title was never in doubt as they finished 12 points clear with 19 wins and three draws.

They won six of their six matches against the other top-four sides – Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The only times they dropped points were in three draws against Leicester (1-1), Brighton (2-2) and West Ham (2-2).
