After persistent rain prevented the players from playing on the field, the Champions Trophy Group B game between Australia and South Africa in Rawalpindi was postponed.
At 5:10 p.m. local time (12:10 GMT), more than 5 hours after the scheduled start time of Tuesday, the game at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in the city of northern Pakistan was called off.
Play was impossible due to the possibility of light rain that poured down on the fields and the outfield throughout the day.
A few spectators with South African and Australian flags waited patiently for the start of the game before leaving without any action.
After winning their opening games against Afghanistan and England, South Africa leads the group on net run-rate from Australia.
The latter two meet in Lahore on Wednesday, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the semifinals.
On Friday, Afghanistan will face Australia in its final game, while South Africa will face England on Saturday.
