The British Athletics World Class Program for 2025-26 includes 41 athletes, according to British Athletics.
The WCP is supported by the National Lottery’s initiative for UK athletes, who are preparing for significant international competitions, including the Paralympic Games.
The highest of three funding tiers has been established for three athletes: Nathan Maguire, Lydia Church, and Melanie Woods.
Woods won her first world medals this year at the World Paralympics in New Delhi, taking home the bronze medalist title for Great Britain in the women’s T54 1500m and T54 800m.
Additionally, Church and Maguire both won bronze medals at the World Championships in the men’s T54 1500m and women’s F12 shot put, respectively.
Hannah Cockroft, Aled Sion Davies, Daniel Pembroke, and Sabrina Fortune were just five reigning world champions, along with Victoria Levitt, a women’s T44 100m gold medalist, and Victoria Levitt, a third-tier Paralympic confirmation list.
However, Owen Miller, the 2020 Paralympic champion, was unable to participate in the program for this year due to an injury that prevented him from defending his title in the men’s T20 1500m at the 2024 Games.
Bree Cronin, Dan Gladman, Bebe Jackson, Jade Hall, Finlay Menzies, and Arthur Milles are all added to the Paralympic confirmation level, along with Didi Okoh, who won the women’s T63 100m bronze medal at the worlds and in 2024.
It will help “continue to build momentum as we work toward the LA 2028 Paralympic Games and beyond,” according to Katie Jones, head of the UKA Paralympic program.
