Asia’s youngest nation East Timor, declared ASEAN’s 11th member

What Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao referred to as a “historic moment” as East Timor’s declaration as the country’s 11th member. East Timor, the youngest country in Asia, gained independence from Indonesia in 2002.
