At the end of the season, Aston Villa are expected to loan Spain’s Marco Asensio from Paris St-Germain until the end of the season.
Before signing a loan to the Midlands club, Marcus Rashford will undergo a medical at Villa.
Villa are expected to have the pair in before the January transfer window closes on Monday at 23:00 GMT, though it is not yet known when the deals for both players are closed.
In January, Villa signed Colombian striker Jhon Duran from Levante and Dutch international Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund for a combined £71 million deal.
Since joining PSG from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, Asensio, 29, has made seven goals in 47 appearances, helping the team win the French title in 2024.
He has also had spells at Mallorca and Espanyol, as well as earning 38 caps for Spain.
Boss Unai Emery said his side “need new players” following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Wolves, which left the club eighth in the Premier League.
