The Mirror examines the Dutchman’s family’s predicament behind the scenes as “serious questions” are posed to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot following yet another blow to the team are posed.

Arne Slot’s family will undoubtedly be present to offer their support as the pressure mounts, and the Slot clan hasn’t had a good time playing away from the pitch.

After PSV Eindhoven won the game by 4-1 at Anfield, the Dutch manager is in the red after his ninth defeat in 12 games. Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has warned that “serious questions” will be asked of him.

All eyes will now be on the Premier League-winning tactician as he moves the Merseyside club past this most recent disappointment, despite Gerrard’s agreement with his former Anfield teammate Steve McManaman that it’s still “far too early.” The team’s poor results come as Slot and the entire team are still grieving the tragic loss of Diogo Jota, who passed away in a car accident earlier this year.

And despite having a fantastic debut season with Liverpool, Slot, 47, has already experienced some stress, not least of which from the fans in the stands.

In a candid interview with Dutch outlet AD back in May, the Bergentheim-born slot made an open statement about the difficulties of playing a prominent role. Although Slot’s new beginnings have been exciting, his family has had to live apart from his wife Mirjam, son Joep, and daughter Isa, to prevent any disruption to the children’s education.

Former Zwolle midfielder Slot said: “Anyone who is married and has a good marriage, I believe I do,” and they would like to see their children and their wife a little more. Sadly, my wife visits for a few days every two weeks, and the kids are even less.

In addition to the distance, Mirjam has found it difficult to navigate the rapid rise in public interest, with Slot’s prestigious appointment opening their lives to a whole new level. According to Slate, “She (Mirjam) finds that attention to be the most difficult aspect of our lives. At Feyenoord, she already had that. She also favors taking out the meal from the restaurant than seated us together. She feels differently about being watched or criticized.

According to Slot, he previously turned down a role at Tottenham in 2023 as he feared the impact that this would have on his family life. He revealed: “The fact that I didn’t go to Spurs was 99 per cent a family decision,’ Slot added. ‘I told my children that they could still come to London during the holidays. My daughter replied: ‘But during the holidays, I also want to do something with friends’.

Who goes from Feyenoord straight to Tottenham, in my opinion? However, everything changed radically when Liverpool arrived last year. No one rises above Liverpool.

In addition, Slot stated at a press conference today that discussions with club management have remained the same as they have for the past 18 months, indicating that he will continue to “fight on.” Additionally, Slot asserted that the entire team is working together to resolve their current tense situation.
