Although Ariana Grande has a history of image transformation, her debut this week has come as a big surprise to her fans. The 32-year-old actress is still working on her new film Wicked: For Good, which is scheduled to be released next month, but her transformation indicates that she is almost at the end of her Glinda days.
Ariana poses for a brand-new social media photo, sporting long, cascade-descendant waves down her shoulders while sporting newly colored brunette hair. The singer-turned-actress has been donning a slick-back ponytail for three years, but this new look transports her fans to her pre-Wicked days, when she preferred brunette color and glamorous waves.
Ariana captions the snap, Isn’t it nice to see me, isn’t it? playing on a well-known quote from her movie alter-ego, Glinda. And as you’d expect, the makeover caused quite the fan frenzy, despite comments being limited to her friends.

While her sister Frankie wrote, “Yes, it is my sister,” one of her pals wrote, “Ahhhh brown hair is back.”
Another person said, “I wasn’t ready for this!!!” with the phrase “A thousand times YES!” a fourth participant in the fun.
Francesco De Chiara, Ariana’s hair stylist, shared a look at her new hair on his social media accounts, saying, “From this to this, a new chapter has begun!” “along with a photo of her blonde hair above one of her new brunette tresses.”
Fans of the Eternal Sunshine singer’s past performances are delighted to see a glimpse of the pre-Wicked Ari, but it’s not clear whether this brunette hairstyle is a permanent step back to her roots or whether it’s a quick trip back to the dark for a new project Ariana has on the cards.
