Andrew Scott once rushed to hospital during SAG Awards for ‘agonising’ condition

Due to an “agonizing” health condition, Andrew Scott was taken to the hospital during the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The All of Us Strangers star was present for the ceremony, but he experienced crippling pain halfway through. He realized he was passing a kidney stone, and his A-list pals rushed to his aid as he “writhed around in agony” at the back of the venue. He revealed that he needed to be taken to a hospital immediately for treatment.

The Sherlock Holmes star made an interview about the incident at this year’s Los Angeles awards show on Sunday evening. He explained: “I was beside Phoebe]Waller-Bridge] and Laura Dern had just won best supporting actress]for ‘ Marriage Story ‘] and we were standing up.

” I don’t know if anyone has ever experienced having a kidney stone before, but it sends you… the pain is so immediate… I was in the back]of the room] …writhing around in agony. He was nominated for his role on Fleabag as the iconic Hot Priest that year.

When asked what happened to the stone, the actor responded to Variety, “That’s too much. That’s too much.”’ Andrew said, explaining that he knew exactly what was going on.”’ He had kidney stone problems in the past. People don’t need to know about that. It was grisly. The actor received a nomination for Ripley’s Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series.

Colin Farrell won for his work on The Penguin, but he lost out. During his acceptance speech, Colin made sure to thank his fellow nominees. He said:” I want to thank my fellow nominees. Richard, Andrew, Kevin, and Javier, my deepest respect and admiration.

“It sounds cheesy to say, it is cheesy, but we’re all supporting actors, there’s the big parts, the leads, the small parts, the extras and all that s*** but we all support each other, that’s what we do. In the bringing alive of stories, we support. We support the writers and directors”.

Andrew starred as Tom Ripley in the Netflix series, which saw him gain a Primetime Emmy nomination, a Golden Globe nomination, an Independent Spirit nomination and more. The premise of the show follows Ripley, a down-at-the-heels con-man. A wealthy man uses Ripley to persuade his prodigal son to come back from Italy without knowing who he is.

Ripley’s entry into a lavish lifestyle quickly turns out to be “the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder.”
