A PR expert has revealed what she thinks might happen to the dancer now that Amy Dowden and Thomas Skinner’s Strictly Come Dancing partnership is over after it ended last weekend.
Strictly Come Dancing’s professional dancer Amy Dowden could be set for a major comeback on the show in 2026, after enduring a few challenging years. Last weekend, the Welsh dancer was left in tears after her partner Thomas Skinner became the first contestant to be voted off the 2025 series.
The judges ultimately decided to save the rugby ace when the Apprentice star faced Chris Robshaw in the dreaded dance-off.
Fans have been receiving messages of support from Amy since his departure, with many expressing grief over the fact that they didn’t get to see her again.
After a difficult couple of years, the 35-year-old dancer and her celebrity partner made a special effort this season.
In 2023, she had to take a break from the show to undergo surgery for breast cancer, from which she has thankfully recovered, reports Wales Online.
She made a joyful return to the dance floor last year with JLS star JB Gill, but later had to resign due to health issues.
A PR expert believes that her successful year on the show may finally come to an end now that her prematurely ending stint has come to an end.
Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius explained: “Fans will almost certainly voice their disappointment (if she has an early exit from the show).
Producers will likely feel pressure to secure her a spot in the 2026 line-up because that kind of reaction rarely goes unnoticed and with such enormous support behind her.
There’s no denying that viewers would support her once more in the competition with a more compatible partner.
Perhaps Amy will finally win her third Glitterball trophy in 2026, which would make her feel special.
Despite her latest setback, Amy, who joined the BBC programme in 2017, has stayed upbeat about the outcome.
After Thomas’ elimination was confirmed, Tess Daly, the presenter, said, “I’ve got to know the real Tom and he’s adorable.
He looked after me, we laughed endlessly, we worked so hard, and I’ve gained a friend for life because of it. While a Glitterball would have been amazing, what I’ve learned is that happiness, health, and friendship are all important.
“If I’m honest, I wouldn’t change a thing.” I’m devastated that I didn’t get to play ballroom because I know he has a ballroom boy in him.
As Thomas began to cry next to her, she continued, “I’ve lost all confidence as a dancer, and you’ve given me a lift back,” to say honestly, “Thank you. “
