Amorim will speak to Man Utd’s Garnacho about sub reaction

Two minutes before half-time, Amorim replaced Garnacho, an international from Argentina, with defender Noussair Mazraoui in place of Patrick Dorgu, who was sent off.
Garnacho appeared to be indicating that he wanted to take his shirt off because it was heavily raining at Old Trafford, so he avoided getting on the bench and headed down the touchline to the dressing room.
He isn’t known whether he stayed the entire second half.
“I am going to talk with Garnacho about that”, said Amorim.
The 20-year-old attacker and Marcus Rashford were both dropped from the derby against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in December, partly due to their unsatisfactory training and attitude.
Unlike Rashford, who has not played for United since and is now on loan at Aston Villa, Garnacho returned to first-team duties immediately.
“You are making a connection with Rashford”, said Amorim, assessing Wednesday’s situation.
“It was cold and wet”.
With five at the back, Amorim’s decision was a tactical one, allowing his team to largely maintain their original shape.

No matter how entertaining this game turned out to be, United’s victory will therefore bring little comfort to those who are directly affected.
A mid-season home win over opposition that looks set for a quick turnaround in the Championship won’t stick in the memory.
At the final whistle, however, the success story, which rallied from the concession of a harrowing early goal and rallied again after a red card and another avoidable goal, was greeted with enthusiasm from the audience.
“The fans ‘ support was amazing”, said Amorim. “I have felt that right away.
” They want to see the team fight to the end, no matter what the situation. We did that today. We battled through the game’s entirety despite everything that was going against us. You feel the connection. We had a good win, really.
Officials at United acknowledge that this week has been traumatic and that CEO Omar Berrada did not find it simple to tell them the bad news that up to 200 jobs could disappear in the next four months.
When some club employees claim that the rank and file’s morale is at its lowest ebb, it is perfectly plausible.
However, the supporters of United are unwavering in their conviction that changes were necessary.
Their issue is a lack of understanding that first-team results are taken into account when making off-field decisions. And the results have terrible.
The visiting fans’ own fairly direct assessment of United, with Ipswich leading through the horrible mix-up that gave Jaden Philogene a fourth-minute tap-in at the start of the match. The words were somewhat more industrial but effectively:” You’re really not very good. “
When assessing opponents who are supposed to be competing for major honors but started this game 15th in the table, that is fair enough.
However, those in charge of making important decisions remain unwavering about Amorim. They believe that a coach trying to implement a new system is having teething issues as a result of the current circumstances.
Another change, it is argued, will merely repeat past mistakes. The club have been in a malaise for years, it could be said, and the cycle has to be broken.
However, there is also an acceptance this will not be straightforward.
Amorim remarked that his side did not succeed in the manner that he desired them to, such as the strong rearguard action that resulted in a defiant draw against Liverpool and an FA Cup victory with 10 men at Arsenal.
We must survive, but I find it difficult for me to play like we did in the second half because I think the opposing players are more at ease defending the low block, Morim said.
Amazingly, United has now won two Premier League games without losing against Amorim, matching their best form since then.
Even if the Premier League receives five places as expected, they are now 14th, nine points off the top of the table, and a distant 13 away from a Champions League spot.
No one at Old Trafford anticipates Amorim’s side to finish the season strongly.
However, there is a sense of improvement, and results from the FA Cup semifinals against Fulham on Sunday and the Europa League last-16 tie against Real Sociedad are essential to upholding European qualification hopes. Dorgu will miss the Fulham game through suspension.
Amorim has already discovered that any action of significance will be amplified as a result of being associated with United. The glare of publicity is fierce.
Not many employers offer free lunches to staff, according to many at the club, according to reaction to this week’s United cost-cutting news. More people have been laid off by other businesses.
However, most comparable-sized businesses are far outstripped by the allure of United, which results in increased interest and consequently increased commercial revenues.
Whether it is on or off the pitch, United always has an eye on things.
The result of this game will not be the center of the debate, but rather the ridiculous opening goal, which Dorgu and Andre Onana practically waved Ipswich through.
” When everybody watched that ball, they thought ‘ here we go again’, “said Amorim.
And there was much to discuss about Dorgu’s red card.
Amorim stressed he saw no malice, explaining:” He doesn’t want to harm anyone. You may overdo it at times.
So there was plenty of drama in Amorim’s fourth Premier League victory as United head coach.
