Amanda Holden makes a case for this oversized fashion trend with her latest look, proving how stylish Bermuda shorts can look if you’re over 40
Amanda Holden has cemented her fashion credentials again this week, this time sporting an oversized Gen-Z trend that proves just how great it can look over 40.
The trend in question is baggy Bermuda shorts. To present her Heart Radio show, Amanda shared her outfit with her Instagram followers and was sporting a pair of leather longline shorts from The Frankie Shop.
The exact ones are the Olivia Panelled Leather Shorts, priced at £385. Amanda paired these with the Peri Striped Shirt, priced at £185, also from The Frankie Shop.
Amanda joked she was “quite nervous” about wearing the shorts due to their oversized fit, but noted that she felt cool in the baggy shorts, comparing the style to something fellow presenter Emma Willis would wear.

Although jumped on by Gen-Z as the latest fashion trend, they’re also a style choice loved by Princess Diana and Meghan Markle. Princess Diana had some of the most iconic fashion moments in history, and her chic short looks are no exception.
Whether seen in casual beige Bermuda shorts teamed with a white tee or a tailored black pair for dinner in London, Diana was a true trendsetter.
And now the trend has come back around, re-imagined in heavy-duty materials like leather and denim. If you’re looking for styles that feel cool and grown-up, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite buys on the high street.
