Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea manager, said he “will always be a Blue” but still hopes to defeat them on Tuesday when his Benfica face Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.
In Mourinho’s two years in charge, Chelsea won seven major titles, including the Premier League on three occasions, the FA Cup, and three League Cups.
Mourinho, 62, previously held positions in the Premier League at Tottenham and Manchester United, and he took over the Turkish side Fenerbahce this year after being fired in August before making his first appearance at his former club Benfica this month.
At Benfica, the club he joined as a manager in 2000, he has won two games and drawn one of his first three games.
When asked about his relationship with Chelsea, Mourinho declared, “I will always be a Blue.” I’m a part of their history, they say. They are a part of my past. I assisted them in growing Chelsea, and they also assisted me in growing Jose.

However, in their first league game, Mourinho replaced Bruno Lage after losing to Azerbaijani side Qarabag, who had previously won the title.
Mourinho, whose professional career included stints at Real Madrid and Roma, stated that he did not anticipate playing for another club.
