The Spaniard’s first top-level victory came on Sunday, with Alex Marquez claiming a memorable MotoGP victory.

After five rounds, the 29-year-old, who is six-time world champion, took the lead in the overall MotoGP standings with the help of Marc Marquez, his older brother.

Fabio Quartaro, a Yamaha rider, defeated Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati-Lenovo for second place, and the Ducati-Gresini rider won.

The 2021 world champion Quartararo won the race and won his first Grand Prix podium since 2023.

On a thrilling opening lap, Marc Marquez made contact with teammate Bagnaia before leaving on the third lap.

The older Marquez, who had won three of the opening four games, came back from the lead with a point.

Alex Marquez made an aggressive move up the inside of Quartararo to take the lead on lap 11 after his brother’s accident forced his way past Bagnaia to move into second.
