Aiyedatiwa Marks 60th Birthday, Pardons 40 Convicts In Ondo
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has extended the hand of mercy to 40 convicts.
The Governor’s Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, made this disclosure in a statement on Sunday.
He said the decision , reflects a profound commitment to rehabilitation and the transformative power of second chances in commemoration of Aiyedatiwa’s 60th birthday.
The decision, in his opinion, was in line with the recommendations of the Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy and demonstrated the governor’s commitment to creating a justice system that prioritizes reform over repentance.
