Adolescence star Stephen Graham gushes over ‘rock’ wife for her support amid Netflix drama

Hannah Walters, the wife of adolescence star Stephen Graham, is also known for her “rock.”
In the Netflix drama, which has received glowing reviews so far, Stephen portrays the father of a 13-year-old boy accused of murder. According to Stephen, the gritty drama was created as a response to the rising knife crime rate among teenagers in the UK. The 51-year-old actor previously stated that he typically adopts the method acting model, which requires actors to remain “in role” throughout the entire production and between scenes, which is challenging for dark dramas like Adolescence.
However, Stephen has frequently praised Hannah’s perseverance during difficult times, and was nominated for a BAFTA for his role in 2021’s Boiling Point. He claims to have been Hannah’s biggest fan from the beginning.
Stephen, who wed the actress and executive producer in 2008, said, “I watched Hannah back in the day at drama school and always thought she was brilliant.

Netflix released last week’s Netflix-produced Adolescence with Stephen Co. Critics claim that the drama’s four episodes were shot in one take, which adds to its realness.
Hannah’s most recent role in a nearly 20-year career included being one of the program’s executive producers. The actress also appeared in the crime drama Time on BBC and Boiling Part with her husband.
The 48-year-old actress, who previously served as an executive producer on the historical drama A Thousand Blows this year, is a key member of her and Tephen’s joint production company, Matriarch Productions.

Their romance first developed at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in Sidcup, Kent, where the couple first met while training as actors, rather than on a Hollywood set.
Their friendship grew stronger over the years, especially when they reconnected professionally in 2006 on This Is England. The couple tied the knot just two years later, on June 6, 2008, with the help of their stronger bond.
The couple, who have two children, made their home in Leicestershire’s Ibstock. Following a revamp two years ago, the showbiz pair was chosen to cut the ribbon at a recently reopened doctors’ surgery in the village.
Stephen previously described his life in Ibstock as “part of the furniture here.” I adore Ibstock’s camaraderie and sense of community. It’s a true English village. I enjoy going into Smith’s, the neighborhood butchers, because they have been around for years, and they greet me as well as treat me like they do everyone else.
