Adam Peaty’s mum Caroline has ‘liked’ an emotional comment as the row continues to rage between her and her Olympian son, ahead of his marriage to Holly Ramsay
Adam Peaty’s mum, Caroline, has fuelled the flames of the bitter feud with her son Adam after liking a brutal comment on her Instagram. Over the past few weeks, the GB star has fallen out with his family so badly that he has uninvited them from his wedding with Holly Ramsay next month.
The Olympian and Strictly star will walk down the aisle with chef Gordon Ramsay’s daughter this Christmas, but only his sister will be in attendance. The bitter feud became public knowledge last week when Peaty’s mum was uninvited from Holly’s plush hen do at Soho Farmhouse, but tensions have reportedly been simmering since the couple got engaged last September.
As the row continues to rage, Caroline has liked a series of comments on Instagram, which indicate that the rift isn’t close to being healed. Caroline uploaded a post which said: “I feel everything too deeply. And sometimes, I wish I didn’t. I care until it hurts, forgive before I should, and carry guilt for storms I didn’t cause. I overthink every silence, apologise for taking up space, and love people who never look back.

“I lose sleep replaying moments, wondering if I said too much, or if I wasn’t enough. And deep down, I fear I’ll always love harder than I’ll ever be loved back.”
Underneath, she liked a comment which said: “I like respect and it’s a foreign word for some of those I happen to be in contact with so I tend to ride on the crest of a wave and stay there, which means I try to avoid all of the depths of life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m nice but to a point.”
She also liked another, which commented: “Stay strong and always be there for your son. Your love is unconditional, he knows that x.” But others were divided, with one poster writing: “It’s none of my business but if what I’m reading online is correct then you’re taking the wrong route. Airing your dirty laundry in public (no matter how much you are hurting) will never end well for you. Remain dignified, let him make his mistake, and be there when it goes wrong, because it definitely will.”
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Caroline, 59, told the paper: “‘I know it’s the end. But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.
“There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much. I hope your marriage is a good one, I don’t wish any ill on you and I want you and Holly to have a long and happy marriage, like your dad and me. The reason I’m speaking out is I want all this to end.”
She added: “He’s in Gordon’s clutches. I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular.” The row erupted after Caroline wasn’t invited to Holly’s hen-do at exclusive Soho Farmhouse, in Oxfordshire, which was attended by her mum Tana, Victoria Beckham, her sisters Megan and Tilly, as well as Adam’s sister Bethany. Instead, she stayed at home looking after Adam’s son George, five, the little boy he had with his previous partner, artist Eirianedd Munro.
After Holly shared photos on social media, Caroline’s sister Louise Williams, took to Instagram to air her grievance. Her post stated: “@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman who I have loved and continue to love deeply.” It ended: “You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.”
Tensions reportedly started to simmer after extended members of the Peaty family weren’t invited to the engagement party. Caroline sent a text to Holly, adding: “I told her, ‘You know how important family is to you, as it is to me. My sisters are not coming to the party, they have been there all through Adam’s life…’.
She added: “But Adam didn’t take kindly to me sending that message.” Tensions then increased and Adam Peaty’s dad Mark didn’t attend the stag after Caroline was univited from the wedding.
She had clashed with Adam over her outfit choice as she wanted to wear a cream outfit to the big day. He had offered to pay for four outfits to wear across the day, but rejected that specific choice, saying that only Holly should wear white.
The relationship became even more inflamed after Adam Peaty was met by five police officers at the airport after returning from his stag do, reportedly because of fears he might be assaulted.
It is alleged he had been receiving threatening messages from his brother, builder James, 34, who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of harassment and questioned by police for two days before being released on conditional bail.
A source close to Adam and Holly said: “This feud is heartbreaking from both sides. But the reality is Adam sees his mum, Caroline, to be enabling his brother’s actions rather than pushing him to deal with his demons.”
