Caroline Peaty appears to have had a close relationship with Holly Ramsay ahead of their current fallout, which saw Caroline uninvited from her son Adam Peaty’s wedding
Before their relationship reportedly soured, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty’s mum, Caroline, appeared to have shared a warm and affectionate bond with her son’s fiancée, Holly Ramsay.
Just a few months ago, Caroline took to Instagram to celebrate Holly’s birthday, posting a heartfelt message that hinted at how close the families once were. She wrote: “Happy birthday Holly (and Jack), have a wonderful day x We are looking forward to the year ahead and to you officially becoming part of our family x We have shared some wonderful times already and here is to many more x”.
Alongside the message, Caroline shared a carousel of lovely photos of Holly. The first two images showed the Strictly Come Dancing couple beaming together in the countryside, followed by sweet moments of Holly playing with Adam’s young son, George.
Caroline also included family photos of the trio and finished with a glamorous shot of Holly smiling with a drink in hand. Holly herself responded warmly to the post, commenting: “Thank you xx.”
At the time, Caroline’s Instagram feed reflected nothing but pride and positivity for both Holly and her son. She frequently shared updates about Adam’s career and achievements, including a February 2024 post in which she gushed: “Super proud of you Adam x To achieve that time especially when you are not fully tapered is amazing. To see you happy with your swim is so good to see.”
In August, she celebrated his success at the London Olympic Triathlon, writing: “Congratulations Adam, super proud is an understatement x Just wish I was there x”.
But what was once a seemingly close family dynamic has now been overshadowed by a bitter fallout in the lead-up to Adam and Holly’s Christmas wedding at Bath Abbey.
According to The Daily Mail, Caroline was excluded from Holly’s lavish hen weekend at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire. The luxurious celebration was attended by her mum, Tana Ramsay, sisters Megan and Tilly, and family friend Victoria Beckham.
Holly shared photos from the trip, writing, “My girls gave me the best weekend, my heart is so full,” while Victoria also posted her own snaps from the “girls’ night”.
Caroline was reportedly left heartbroken after being left out of the get together. By contrast, Adam’s sister Bethany was also invited to the festivities.
A source told The Mail that tensions between the Ramsays and Peatys have been building for months, describing it as “a clash of lifestyles”. They added: “The Ramsays are rich and like the finer things in life. The Peatys are much more down-to-earth.”
The situation allegedly escalated when Caroline bought a dress for the wedding — only to be told that Holly and Adam didn’t approve of it. The couple reportedly offered to buy her another outfit, planning a shopping trip to Bath that never materialised due to train disruptions.
After the fallout, Caroline shared a cryptic post that appeared to reference the tensions between her and Adam, which read: “The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most. When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.”
