Caroline Peaty has made a move on social media that seems to be aimed at calming the family feud that has erupted between her and Adam in the lead up to his wedding
The rift within Adam Peaty’s family has taken yet another turn.
It comes after a week filled with heated accusations towards the Olympic swimmer from his relatives, and claims that his mum Caroline has been excluded from his upcoming wedding to fiancée Holly Ramsay.
Caroline has now disabled all comments on her Instagram posts in what appears to be a quiet attempt to calm the increasingly bitter fallout.
Turning off comments means the posts are no longer open to remarks from family members – including Caroline’s sister Louise, who has been one of the most vocal supporters of the devastated mum.
The feud all started because of Holly’s lavish hen do, which Caroline was reportedly not invited to. While the future mother-in-law stayed home caring for her five-year-old grandson George, Holly’s mother Tana Ramsay and their family friend Victoria Beckham were both welcomed to the high-profile event.
The slight was particularly painful for Caroline given that Adam had included Gordon Ramsay on his own stag celebrations abroad. Soon after, Caroline was said to have been crushed when a dress she bought for the ceremony was allegedly deemed unsuitable by the couple, who then offered to buy her another one.
But the most shocking moment came when Caroline was allegedly informed she was no longer welcome at Adam and Holly’s Christmas wedding.
According to her sister Louise, the news was delivered while Caroline was returning young George to his mother, Eirianedd Munro. Louise claimed her sister had to mask her “hurt and betrayal” in front of her grandchild, calling the situation “sticking the knife in and twisting it”.
She went on to allege that Adam had called his mother a “c**p mother,” despite the sacrifices Caroline made to support his swimming career, including driving him to training at dawn and pushing the Peaty family into debt to fund his dreams.
The turmoil has escalated further in recent days after Adam’s older brother James was arrested over alleged threatening messages sent to the swimmer during his stag weekend in Budapest.
Their father, Mark, has since claimed that involving the police in this family matter was “out of hand,” especially given Jamie’s ongoing mental health struggles.
A source has suggested Adam believes his mother has enabled Jamie’s behaviour, which is something the rest of the family strongly denies.
In a heartbreaking Instagram post this week, Caroline shared a quote reading: “Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is.” Shortly after, she shut down all comments across her account.
Louise has continually defended her sister online, accusing Adam of abandoning his working-class roots and failing to uphold the values he professes to have as a born-again Christian.
As it stands, Adam’s sister Bethany is believed to be the only member of his side of the family still set to attend the wedding. Other family members have admitted the venue is too fancy and said they cannot afford to book accommodation in the area as they are on Universal Credit.
Adam and Holly have yet to speak out on the accusations, despite The Mirror contacting their representatives for comment on the story.
