Because William Osula now appears to be the “complete package,” manager Eddie Howe says it was a “relief” that he didn’t leave Newcastle United on transfer deadline day.
The 22-year-old was on the verge of joining Eintracht Frankfurt, but it failed, causing the transition to fall.
Osula has since made an impact for Newcastle in the Premier League, Carabao Cup, and Champions League, and was key in Bruno Guimaraes’ late winner against Fulham on Saturday.
Osula’s contributions have been welcomed by Howe despite record signing Nick Woltemade’s continued first-choice striker status. Yoane Wissa injured her knee while serving in the DR Congo.
“Obviously, it didn’t happen, and we’re glad to know that it didn’t because Yoane picked up a broken leg and that Will is extremely important.”
We think he has talent. He moves quickly. When he appeared on the pitch the day before, you could see that.
He is quick and athletic, but he has improved his skill and ability to handle game situations as a result of his continued attitude to training.
He has benefited from that, and he appears to be the complete package in the pitch.

Howe said “helping the team is his big wish,” but Osula has been recovering from an ankle injury that has limited his ability to perform finishing drills during training.
He said, “The Will I Know is that great personality with a real zest for life.”
He is constantly joking and laughing. He is well-liked in the dressing room. He certainly has some very close relationships.
He takes his work very seriously, which is what has changed, probably more than it has in the previous year.
