In a joint operation in the state’s Kajuru Local Government Area, security personnel carried out the rescue of 23 kidnapped victims.
Munir Hassan, the Kaduna State Police Command’s public relations officer, confirmed the victims’ rescue on Sunday.
According to a statement, the Kajuru Division’s Divisional Police Officer and the military engaged a group of bandits who were attempting to relocate to Kajuru Forest along with their victims.
During the encounter, security forces unleashed heavy casualties on the bandits, forcing them to retreat and flee into Forest with gunshot wounds, which resulted to the rescue of twenty-three kidnapped victims.
The area has been subject to increased surveillance and aggressive patrols in order to stop further criminal activity, according to the police, while the rescued victims have been safely reunited with their families.
