Scotland’s Grant Forrest received a video call from Donald Trump after triumphing at the Nexo Championship, played over the US President’s golf course in Aberdeenshire.
The 32-year-old won by four shots at Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie, and after collecting the trophy, spoke to Trump, who was himself out playing golf at the time.
“Your name’s going to be on the board for a long time Grant,” Trump said in the call, shared on X by the DP World Tour.
“I watched it, he’s some player. I look forward to playing with him – in fact I will play with him tomorrow if he could get on a plane.
“Get on a plane and come over here Grant.
“We all watched you play. We just came out, what a round of golf. What three rounds of brilliant golf.
Forrest, who lifted his maiden European Tour title at St Andrews almost exactly four years ago, took control of windy conditions over the weekend but saw his three-shot overnight advantage trimmed to two after Todd Clements’ birdie on the opening hole.
However, when Forrest birdied the fourth and Clements carded a triple-bogey eight at the same hole, the Scot led by five and never looked back.
The world number 294, who double-bogeyed the last, added two more birdies and a dropped shot in a closing 72 to finish with an eight-under-par total.
“It’s amazing, just speechless,” Forrest said. “I think it is the same week as I won four years ago on the calendar so just amazing, that must say something about this week and being at home.
“I just can’t believe it. It’s been such a tough year on the golf course. It’s just a crazy game that you can go and come out and do this, with what feels out of nowhere.

Oliver Glasner says he would not swap Crystal Palace’s Community Shield victory for a spot in next season’s Europa League.
The FA Cup holders claimed their second trophy in three months – and first Community Shield – by overcoming Premier League champions Liverpool on penalties after the match ended 2-2 at Wembley.
Palace will find out on Monday whether they will be allowed to play in Europe’s second-tier cup competition in 2025-26.
The Eagles were demoted to the Uefa Conference League as punishment for breaching multi-club ownership rules, as American businessman John Textor owns a stake in the club and is the majority owner of Lyon, who also qualified for the Europa League.
An appeal was submitted against their demotion with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
The appeal is against Uefa, which issued the punishment, French club Lyon and Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest – with a decision expected on Monday.
When asked whether he would swap the Wembley win for a successful appeal, Glasner replied: “No. The players were not scared of noise around us.
‘It would devalue the competition’
Penalty shootout hero Dean Henderson added Palace’s potential demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League would “devalue the competition”.
“I think you will see by today, we don’t take too much notice of it at the end of the day,” Henderson told BBC Radio 5 Live at Wembley. “We win the FA Cup, we are justified to be in the Europa League.
“For football purposes we deserve to be in the Europa League. I think it would devalue the competition unfortunately if we weren’t in the Europa League.
“Things that are won on the pitch should be rewarded and I think every neutral football fan would agree with that. Let’s see. I know the chairman [Steve Parish] has fought hard against it and fingers crossed we are in the Europa League like we deserve to be.
“I know Crystal Palace fans have waited 120 years, maybe even longer, for the first trophy and chance to go on a European tour.

Kelly Clarkson’s ex husband tragically died aged 48 this week over three years after he was diagnosed with cancer. The death of the former talent manager was revealed in a touching statement just a day after the American Idol alum had postponed her Las Vegas residency.
Now, it’s been said his final days were spent at the place he felt most “at home”. Following the completion of the pair’s divorce in 2022, it’s said Brandon purchased $1.8 million property in Butte, Montana.
A source claimed since buying the home weeks after his divorce, Brandon had lived a “pretty quiet life in Montana”.

Speaking to US Weekly, the insider said: “Even though he worked in entertainment in the past, that was not his personality. He was at home in Montana.”
They went on: “‘He had his ranch and rodeo, but he preferred to go under the radar. Some of the people who worked with him at Starstruck [Entertainment] ended up moving to Montana to work on the rodeo with him.”
And it’s at this ranch that Brandon was residing when his health deteriorated, according to the source. They added that despite Kelly and Brandon’s split, she made sure their kids spent a lot of quality time with their father.
The pair shared two children together, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington ‘Remy’ James, 9. Brandon also had two kids from a previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth..
The source said Kelly “did spend a lot of time traveling with her kids to be with him”.
Just a month before his death, his daughter Savannah, 23, announced she was pregnant with her second child. Taking to her her social media page at the time she said: “We’ve been keeping a couple sweet surprises.”
The sweet post went on: “One little girl will be making her arrival at the beginning of January and another beautiful girl named Julianna who has already been one of the greatest blessings to our family.”
Savannah, who is already a mother to her three-year-old son Lake, continued: “The Lord has been so faithful. He’s written a story we never could’ve imagined, and His kindness in this season has left us in awe. He’s answered prayers we never even knew how to pray.”
And in the post, reported by PEOPLE she added: “This journey has been so special full of peace, excitement, and so much grace. We’re growing again, and our hearts are so full. Thank you, Jesus.”
Following Brandon’s death, his brother paid emotional tribute to his sibling. Brandon’s race car driver half brother – who shares the same dad, Narvel Blackstock, as Brandon – released an emotional tribute online. Sharing a string of photos of himself and other family members with Brandon on his Instagram page, he said: “Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son.

“Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family—funny, bright, and full of life—and he will be deeply missed.”He taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever. For every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we’ll never get to make together, but I know you’ll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I’ll feel your presence.
“And although it may annoy you, you’ll have to watch me do it all just a little better, a little smoother, and —let’s be honest— looking far more handsome than you ever could in the process. We will always miss you, Brandon, and we will never stop loving, remembering and celebrating you.”

Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote hit back at fans who continued to speculate on the state of her marriage amid reports and allegations she is heading for divorce

Georgia May Foote has ordered her fans to calm down after they relentlessly speculated on the state of her marriage. The 34-year-old soap star has been married to singer and record label owner Kris Evans since 2023.
The couple embarked on their romance in 2018 – with things taking a step towards serious romance in 2020 as they moved in together amid the Covid pandemic. They became engaged in December 2021 after Kris, 35, got down on one knee while they were on holiday together.
In recent weeks, fans have feared for the future of the couple amid reports of a strained romance and rumours of divorce. Georgia threw petrol on the fire of speculation when she shared an image of herself looking visibly upset via social media. It comes after Coronation Street and Mrs Brown’s Boys actor dies after short illness.

The post drove her fans wild – with many commenting on the image to question the Coronation Street star’s romantic life. One fan asked in reply to the image: “Where’s Kris?”
Other fans defended the actress, but other fans continued to demand more information. One wrote: “It’s a public forum and she looks sad. People are going to comment.”
The debate ultimately provoked a response from Georgia herself, who stepped in to demand everyone calm down. The TV star wrote: “It’s a photoshoot guys please chill out.”
However, she subsequently deleted the image. The Mirror has contacted her spokesperson for comment.
The fracas comes after Kris appeared to make comments about the state of his marriage to Georgia – who fans will recall competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015. At the end of last month, the singer took to social media to share a cryptic post.
He uploaded an image of a cloud filled sky while at a music writing camp – and included an emotion-fuelled note that read, “In a time of destruction, write something.” It appears it’s not the first time the artist made a trip to the songwriting camp, as he posted about his time he spent there back in 2024.
As part of their creative mission, the camp states: “Our camps are the number one stop for all things songwriting. Dive in headfirst; whether you’re already established and looking for new inspiration/collaborations or you are new to the field and are looking for that boost of confidence to get you started, we have something for everyone.”
Her husband recently posted a cryptic message online(Image: Instagram)
The camp has hosted a wide range of artists in the past, which they proudly state on their website. It reads: “We have already played host to many successful names such as Carl Barat of The Libertines, Callum Beattie, Blaine of The Mystery Jets, John McClure of Reverend & The Makers, Koolkid & Ili, Stuart Zender of Jamiroquai, Youth, and Ian Van Dahl. A real variety to cover all styles of music.”
Georgia and Kris’s romance was not always so dramatic – and they have previously gushed for each other online and in interviews.
In an interview with The Best Life Project in 2020, Georgia discussed her love, writing: “I was brought up with northern men around me. So it just feels right with Kris. He’s very chilled and very supportive and if it was up to me I’d have married him the day I met him.”

They also proudly showed off photos of their wedding day in 2023 – with Georgia describing it as her “Best day ever”.
The United States brokered the agreement, giving it leverage and business opportunities.
There is a peace deal between Azerbaijan and Armenia, after nearly four decades of conflict.
The final stage was brokered by US President Donald Trump in the White House.
Crucial to the deal is a corridor to connect the main part of Azerbaijan with another part of its territory, which is cut off because it is on the other side of Armenia.
But how long will it take before the corridor becomes a reality?
And what will Washington’s growing presence in the South Caucasus mean for the region?
