Alcaraz hails ‘best physio in world’ after victory

After overcoming concerns about an ankle injury to defeat Zizou Bergs in the second round of the Japan Open, Carlos Alcaraz declared that he had the “best physio in the world.”

The world’s number one had previously claimed he was “scared” after he slammed into awkward ground in his Thursday first-round defeat to Sebastian Baez.

The 22-year-old Spaniard looked unharmed as he won 6-4, 6-3 over unseeded Belgian Bergs to advance to the quarter-final with Brandon Nakashima in Tokyo.

Alcaraz, who won the US Open last month, said, “I could play, I would say, normally.”

“I was concerned about some court movements where I could feel my ankle,” but overall I think I had a great match.

I have the best physio in the world, who I can trust completely, and I think his work on the ankle is outstanding.

In another match, French qualifier Terence Atmane, age 23, defeated world number two Jannik Sinner 6-4, 5-7, 6-0 to reach the quarter-finals.

After twice leading by a break, the Italian, who lost to Alcaraz in the US Open final but has since won the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year, struggled in the second set.

In August, Atmane defeated Sinner in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters, which he had one of the best runs of the season.

Denmark reports new drone sightings overnight at military sites

The most recent incursions near airports and critical infrastructure this week, which officials have called a “hybrid attack” and made hints about possible Russian involvement, are unidentified drones that have flown over Denmark’s military installations, including its largest base.

“The Danish Defense can confirm that drones were seen last night at several of the Danish Defence’s locations. An army spokesman said on Saturday that “many capabilities were deployed,” without specifying where the drones were spotted.

On Friday, police reported that “one to two drones” were observed close to and over the Karup military base in western Denmark, the country’s largest base, which houses all of the armed forces’ helicopters, airspace surveillance, flight schools, and support functions.

Police spokesman Simon Skelkjaer said he could not be reached for information on the origin of the drones and that “we didn’t take them down.”

No flights were canceled because none were scheduled at that time, according to Skelkjaer, but the Karup base shares runways with the Midtjylland civilian airport, which was briefly closed.

Copenhagen airport, the busiest airport in the Nordic region, was closed for several hours late on Monday due to mysterious drone observations made across the Nordic nation over the past week.

In the days that followed, five smaller airports, both for military and civilian use, temporarily closed.

In response to drone incursions into Polish and Romanian territory and Russian fighter jets’ invasion of Estonian airspace, which heightened tensions in light of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, drone reports closed Oslo airport for several hours earlier in the week.

Mette Frederiksen, the prime minister of Denmark, said on Thursday that “dandanda has been the victim of hybrid attacks” in reference to unconventional warfare.

Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated on Thursday that the flights appeared to be “the work of a professional actor,” though investigators have so far failed to identify those responsible.

Russia is the “main country that poses a threat to Europe’s security,” according to Frederiksen, who has pointed the finger at Russia.

Moscow “firmly rejects” any suggestion that it was involved in the Danish incidents, Moscow said on Thursday. Its embassy in Copenhagen described them as “a staged provocation” in a social media post.

The drone flights came just days after Denmark announced for the first time that it would acquire long-range precision weapons because Russia would “present a threat for years to come.”

A so-called “drone wall” was agreed to be a priority for the bloc on Friday by defense ministers from about 10 European Union nations.

Andrius Kubilius, the EU’s defense commissioner, said that Europe needs to quickly develop anti-drone defenses from Ukraine.

Kubilius stated in an interview that “we need to move quickly.” And we need to move, bringing Ukraine’s experience to bear, and creating a drone wall with Ukraine.

“I had a lot of things last year, and Gigi helped me get through it.” Although I’m strong, I was very hormonal, but something about knowing I was dating a girl only made me stronger.

The woman who was allegedly the ex-girlfriend of one of Charlotte’s rugby player pals was reportedly the woman who the drama involved. Charlotte claimed that she had tried her luck over text one night. She sent her explicit images of Matt, who had an intoxicated behavior, to her.

Security Forces Dismantle Kidnappers Den In Edo Forest

Following a massive bush-combing operation in Ekeke Erah Forest, Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State Special Security Squad, codenamed “Operation Flush Out Cultists and Kidnappers,” has taken down five suspected kidnapper camps in Edo North Senatorial District.

The Nigerian Army, local vigilante organizations, and other sister security organizations were involved in the operation, which was coordinated by the Principal Security Officer (PSO) to Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Security operatives traveled nearly five kilometers deep into the forest between Afuze and Ora, where the camps were discovered and later destroyed, according to a statement from the governor’s press secretary, Fred Itua, on Saturday.

After the six-hour exercise, Squad member Eribo Ewanta reported that signs of recent activity indicated that the camps were still in use.

We found five camps, all of which had clearly indicated that the people who had just fled. A pot of food was left on the fire and the fire was still burning. He said that this confirms the presence of alleged kidnappers in this region.

The team claimed that as suspected kidnappers allegedly received an alert to the security incursion, they tried to avoid being captured by an exchange of gunfire at a riverbank. The forest’s evidence of cattle grazing further skewed the possibility that the hideouts had a connection to armed herdsmen.

The suspects were involved in a violent gunfight, but they escaped deeper into the woods. We are still on their side, though. Their concentration camps have been razed and destroyed. Ewanta stated that Edo State will no longer be a haven for criminals.

He assured Edo residents that the operation was just the start of long-term efforts to remove kidnappers and other violent organizations from the state.

“We’re prepared for battle.” The Governor’s directive is clear: Edo must be free of all forms of crime. We’ll keep trying until we catch them.
