Coroner Mary Hassell stated that the alleged assault had “played out in the national press” following Flack’s death, which had an effect on the presenter’s mental health. Caroline’s mother, Christine, claimed last year that the incident “wasn’t domestic abuse.”

Flack was detained shortly after 5am at her London home on December 12, 2019. According to police, there was a “domestic disturbance” when they were called to a residential address.

One day later, she was charged. A Met spokesperson said: “Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington, was charged with assault by beating on Friday, December 13th. On Monday, December 23rd, she will appear in Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court for bail.

Following reports of a man being assaulted, an incident occurred on Thursday, December 12 at around 05:25. He didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
