Inside Brooklyn Beckham’s ‘jail-like’ marriage to Nicola Peltz after ‘hostage’ claims

After the pair swerved at David Beckham’s 50th birthday party, Brooke Beckham is reportedly held “hostage” in his marriage to Nicola Peltz, leaving the England star heartbroken.

Several sources claim that Nicola Peltz is “controling” Brooklyn Beckham.

When Brooklyn Beckham tied the knot with Nicola Peltz three years ago, Victoria and David were seen grinning from ear to ear as their firstborn flew the nest in style. No expense was spared on the lavish $3m nuptials at Nicola’s family’s mansion in Florida as the stars of Hollywood gathered to toast the newlyweds.

Despite a rumoured altercation regarding Nicola’s wedding dress – which Victoria did not end up designing – the former Spice Girl told her daughter-in-law how happy she was for her and posted subsequent snaps of the pair posing together. on Instagram. However, fast forward three years and things look very different.

Reports of a bitter Beckham feud show no signs of abating after Brooklyn and Nicola swerved “heartbroken” David’s birthday despite having flown over to the UK to celebrate with the England star in private. Allegations have also surfaced that Nicola behaved poorly towards Romeo Beckham’s former girlfriend – a situation insiders say ignited a long-standing tension between the brothers.

With their daughter-in-law, who some claim has allegedly “controlled” Brooklyn, who some believe has changed since he married the Transformers star, they are now reportedly “done” with her.

Brooklyn Beckham is “dead inside,” despite telling Nicola Peltz he’ll “always choose her.”

Brooklyn made it very clear who he was on with his most recent Instagram post despite not directly commenting on the family feud.

Telling his wife he would ‘always choose her’, he shared a snap of the couple on a motorbike with the caption: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby.”

A burning love heart emoji and a response from Nicola read, “I’ve always got you baby.” However, an insider thinks Nicola may have planned and planned Brooklyn’s post.

“Brooklyn is now being referred to as “the hostage”. He is in a situation where those who love Brooklyn fear that he is being controlled by Nicola and it is heartbreaking,” they told the Mail.

“He doesn’t do videos like this,” he said. He will be passing away inside.

He claims to be happy and romantic, but the video isn’t really his. You have to wonder if Nicola was responsible for it because he detests all of that.

criticized for disregarding Nicola’s own family while very close to his own

Brooklyn was mocked after expressing condolences to his wife’s late grandmother on the first anniversary of her passing on social media.

Fans who pleaded with the 26-year-old to reconcile with his own parents amid their family feud shared a heartfelt message and photos online with mixed reactions.

In his tribute, Brooklyn – who has a whopping 70 tattoos of Nicola and her family – posted two photos showing him hugging Naunni writing: “Can’t believe it’s been a year without you naunni x you were always so happy and always made me laugh.”

He continued, “We miss you every day and it makes me so sad to think that our future children won’t be able to know you.”

However, after David missed his milestone birthday, the aspiring chef was instructed to consider his own family as well.

Never attends any family gatherings anymore.

Fans thought Brooklyn’s absence from David’s 50th birthday party was a first for the self-proclaimed “nutter in the kitchen.” However, reports suggest that since Nicola’s marriage, Brooklyn has a history of skipping family events.

A source told Page Six that Brooklyn and Nicola “never go to [Beckham] family events anymore” and have avoided visiting David and Victoria. However, Nicola’s team say she used to be the one to encourage Brooklyn to see his family.

Victoria used to post snaps of Romeo, Cruz and Harper at family functions telling ‘Buster’ he was missed. David also told his son he missed him when Brooklyn failed to attend a fishing trip for the former footballer with Romeo and Cruz.

Brooklyn and dad David were recently photographed in London, but they also had a bad time meeting up. Their paths didn’t cross when David and Brooklyn were walking the Chelsea Flower Show and doing a photo shoot. However, Nicola, who was also present during the photo shoot, shared photos of her wearing Moncler attire.

The couple also had dinner with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in California, which reportedly left David and Victoria “blindsided” and “furious”.

Meghanand Nicola allegedly had a “heart-to-heart” and bonded over being accused of “tearing apart their husbands’ families by some insiders. Brooklyn has nevertheless made it abundantly clear that he is Team Nicola as the family feud rages on.

She made keeping cool and fought off-field battles – so why is Earps retiring now?

Few international retirements have shook women’s football as much as Mary Earps did.

No one expected Earps to step down from the game five weeks before Euro 2025, two years after winning back-to-back Fifa Best goalkeeper awards and nine months after making a well-known move to Paris St-Germain.

Sarina Wiegman, England manager, acknowledged that she was disappointed and hoped Earps would play an “important role” this summer.

What led to this choice, exactly?

With the arrival of Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton last year, Earps’ position at the top of the goalkeeping pecking order was in jeopardy.

After opening her third game in a row, including a crucial 1-0 victory over reigning Women’s Nations League champion Spain at Wembley, Wiegman claimed Hampton was “a little ahead of Earps.”

The England manager’s previous statement about the goalkeeping conflict was a fitting end to the summer, but he had previously been wary of making such comments.

Before she was scheduled to join the squad at St George’s Park this week, Wiegman and Earps reportedly discussed her position for the Euros.

She later apologized to her team-mates for their actions on Monday and did not practice, before returning home and resuming her international matches against Portugal and Spain.

Earps will have known that her chances of capturing the top spot were slipping, and she acknowledged in her statement that it was “a new era for England.”

She will not have been keen to go back to the international stage after having previously had setbacks with England, most notably when she was dropped by Phil Neville after being beaten 2-1 by Germany at Wembley in 2019. She will not have been interested in doing so once more.

A replica kit fights and is immortal in wax

Earps’ influence has been significant in both the growth of women’s soccer and the success of England.

She also played a significant role in England’s victory at Euro 2022, and she also assisted them in reaching the 2023 World Cup final, saving a penalty from Spain.

Following that, she gained a significant summertime job at Paris St.Germain after joining Manchester United in a glittering role in the inaugural Women’s Finalissima.

She also received numerous individual accolades, including the Golden Glove for the best keeper at the 2023 World Cup and the Fifa Best Goalkeeper Award twice.

Her off-pitch impact was equally significant.

At the Fifa Best event in 2023, she presented her award for her personal mental health struggles while speaking out about her experiences.

But perhaps her most notable instance occurred when she criticized Nike for a lack of sales of England women’s goalkeeper shirts prior to the World Cup, which resulted in a petition requesting a U-turn from the sportswear giant.

Fans would yell her name during England games, and a mural was painted outside Old Trafford following Euro 2022.

In her hometown of Nottingham, where she also has a tram named after her, an honorific plaque was installed.

Additionally, she won a popular vote to become the first female football player to receive a waxwork at Madame Tussauds.

When she won BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year in 2023, demonstrating that her profile had transcended football, her status as a steadfast fan favorite was reinforced.

There is no disputing that Earps herself wanted to make goalkeeping “cool,” as she herself stated in February 2023.

Without Earps, what is England’s future?

Given that the goalkeeping department has little experience, Wiegman’s disappointment over Earps’ decision to withdraw from Euro 2025 is understandable.

Hampton has advanced to the top of the rankings this season, playing in a Women’s Champions League semifinal alongside Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, and becoming a strong number one.

In the last 15 months, Hampton has made six appearances for England out of 13 total. The 24-year-old is ready, without a doubt.

However, neither of the other two goalkeepers in England’s current squad, subbed 20 years ago, nor 30 years old, has won a senior cap.

Keating and Moorhouse are still fighting for the top spot in the United States, but Moorhouse is still relatively unknown given that her first England squad call-up was in July 2024.

Ellie Roebuck, 25, who previously represented England at the postponed 2021 Olympic Games, started all four of their matches for Team GB.

She hasn’t been in the squad since recovering from a stroke last year because she has found herself under Wiegman’s periphery.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden fears ‘national outrage’ ahead of final

Amanda Holden, a judge for Britain’s Got Talent, predicted there might be a “national outrage” if one thing happened before the final of the ITV talent show.

Amanda said she could cause a ‘national outrage’ with one move(Image: ITV)

Amanda Holden says she fears a “national outrage” on Britain’s Got Talent for one specific reason. The ITV talent show is ending this weekend, with a glittering finale of the hit show.

Amanda will be joined by fellow judges – Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon – for the spectacular finale as the remaining contestants fight to be crowned the winner and earn a coveted slot at the Royal Variety Performance.

Amanda now provides an insight into how the hit show is shot in a new interview. She continued, “My room usually hosts the party after the show!” Before the producers and perhaps my Golden Buzzer act arrive, Bruno is the first to go for a glass of red.

The bubbles flow freely and the door is always open. The fact that my husband and the girls have been watching the show frequently has been really special. Now that Eric and Simon are both attending auditions and performing live shows, I think Simon is the biggest joker. He enjoys seeing Eric laugh, and he is much more emotional now.

She continued, “Simon will frequently look to Eric to see how he is handling an act,” according to Closer magazine. We joke that our young panel members will likely take our place soon.

Amanda mentioned how it would help people more experience what happens when they win the show, and that a group might win this year.

However, she claimed that if one of her daughters ever appeared on the show, there might be a “national outcry” in store. If Lexi or Hollie, her children, ever appear on the program, she was asked if she would be content.

“Hollie repeatedly threatens to audition and asks if I should press my Golden Buzzer for her.” She continued, “I couldn’t judge you because it would be completely unfair, because it would be a national outcry,” adding that.

Bruno Tonioli, the co-star of Amanda, recently discussed their drinking habits.

We’re aware that the next day’s off means there might be a little celebration following the performance, which would be nice! If Amanda has anything to do with it, he said, “A few champagnes.”

Speaking about the constant chanting he receives by the live audience, he added: “That always takes me by surprise every time. It’s as if I’m David Beckham, you know, I would love to have his money. They chant my name and it blows my mind, but I love it.

“And the funny thing is that it always happens on the street, and everywhere I go, people yell Bruno at me.” And scaffolders frequently attend, so it only says they must go see the show because they can’t possibly chant my name in the same way the audience does in the theater? When a group of guys show up on a construction site or in a white van, it’s always hilarious.

Meghan would ‘cling’ to Harry while pregnant to make sure she didn’t fall over at royal events

Meghan openly explained why, during her pregnancies, she would “cling” to Prince Harry to make sure she didn’t fall over in the final episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.

The conclusion of Meghan’s podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, is the final episode, in which Meghan sits down with Sara Blakely, the co-founder of SPANX.

Towards the end of the wide-ranging discussion, which saw the women discuss everything from manifestation to family, Blakely discussed her new venture with the Duchess: a company called Sneex, which makes a brand new kind of hybrid shoe that combines heels with trainers.

During their chat, the Duchess discussed her own experiences wearing uncomfortable high-heeled shoes at royal events during her first pregnancy with Prince Archie, a period of time which also saw her seriously struggle with her mental health. Meghan also admitted that in both her pregnancies, she gained quite a lot of weight – 4.6 stone or 29 kilos – which made wearing stilettos even harder.

Meghan explained in the open discussion that she had just heard from a friend about how she had forgotten about the picture of her and how she was pregnant with Archie when she said, “I mean I gained 65 pounds with both of your pregnancies, and you’re wearing these five-inch pointy-toed stilettos – they’re like “You have the most enormous bump, and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels.”

How on earth am I not just tipping, you know, face-planting, I’m always clinging very closely to my husband like, “Please don’t let me fall! “, I said. “But all of my weight was in the front, so you’re just going,”

Meghan responded, “Well, you created the antidote.”

During her pregnancy with Archie, Meghan was still a working royal and had to attend a myriad of high-profile events. A royal tour in Australia meant she and Harry “had to” announce her pregnancy in October 2018, they revealed in their self-titled Netflix documentary.

Meghan donned her signature stilettos at numerous formal occasions, including the Commonwealth Day service and the Fashion Awards. One of the most notable was the Royal Albert Hall, where she revealed in 2021 that she had shared with Harry that she had suicidal thoughts.

Meghan acknowledged to Oprah that the images of the pair at the Sentebale event, which took place at one of her lowest points, made her feel “haunted” by the pair’s close proximity to mine.

Meghan’s admission that Harry handled her admission, “What took over my feelings was my royal role,” has been his regret. I was taught to think more critically about “What are people going to think if we don’t attend this event?” We’ll be tardy. I hate myself for it now that I look back at it. In the documentary series about the couple, he claimed, “She needed so much more from me than I was able to give.”

Sara explained that after four years of trying to create a “traditional stiletto” that was ten times more comfortable than what we’re all used to, and made a major transition toward a completely new kind of shoe altogether.

Blakely explained, “It was more comfortable, Meghan, but it wasn’t exponentially more comfortable,” so I looked at my team, consisting of just two girls, and said, “We’re going to pull like the plug.” It’s not there, despite what we tried.

Because I constantly say that I have a mental check that it needs to be 10x better than anything else out there, and it was maybe 4x better, but to me, that wasn’t a significant reason to spend my time and effort.

Sara then considered whether it was possible to “merge a sneaker with a stiletto.”

Meghan then explained that as she launched her most recent lifestyle brand, As Ever, she herself had to “flinch away from ideas that she had been pretty wedded about how her jams would look, realizing that her original” charming and darling “designs of” jam hats wouldn’t be put to use.

Over the course of her podcast series, Meghan has made a series of candid admissions during her chats with impressive female businesswomen, including the revelation that she suffered from postpartum preeclampsia, a “rare and scary” condition, which is caused by high blood pressure after birth and can potentially result in serious health issues such as organ failure or strokes.

“The world doesn’t know what’s happening quietly,” Meghan said. “And in the quiet, you’re still trying to show up for people, mostly for your children, but those things are huge medical scares.” Her guest Whitney responded: “I mean, life or death, truly.”

Meghan also opened up about suffering from a miscarriage in 2020, saying to one of her guests, “I’ll bring this up if you are comfortable talking about it… I have spoken about the miscarriage we experienced. And I think in some parallel way, when you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for and to be able to be OK at a certain point to let something go, something go that you plan to love for a long time.”

Meghan’s second entry into the podcasting industry is Confessions of a Female Founder. It follows Spotify’s production of her first show, Archetypes, which was later canceled.

The new podcast, which Lemonada Media produces, has received a mixed response from the audience. One person described the series as “sycophantic,” and the other described it as “45 minutes of platitudes.”

The first episode, however, did top the overall podcast charts and topped the list of business podcasts since then, but it has since fallen off.

UN Security Council must renew the arms embargo on South Sudan

The United Nations Security Council imposed the first set of sanctions against South Sudan in 2015, including travel bans and asset freezes, as a civil war raged there. The UNSC gathered the votes to enact a full arms embargo three years later after a ceasefire agreement was repeatedly broken. The embargo was kept in place and was renewed annually until eventually fraternal harmony emerged.

On May 29, the UNSC’s members from Africa, Sierra Leone, Somalia, and Algeria, are scheduled to hold a review of the embargo. The African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) publicly called for the end of this measure on March 18.

However, it would be mistaken to lift South Sudan’s embargo right now. At least 180 people were killed between March and April in the country because of growing rifts between First Vice President Riek Machar and President Salva Kiir, who has been placed under house arrest.

The dire situation would only get worse if more weapons were allowed to enter. The neighboring nations and the African Union as a whole would not benefit from this.

The continent set itself an ambitious “Silencing the Guns” by 2020 as part of the AU’s development plan, Agenda 2063, which was later extended to 2030. The AU hopes that this will “end all wars and violent conflicts and promote dialogue-based mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution.”

However, the AUPSC’s request to lift South Sudan’s embargo does not align with these objectives. This position is justified by the fact that the government’s and opposition’s efforts to unite under one umbrella umbrella government can be aided by free access to more weapons.

Despite the renewed tensions between Kiir and Machar, this logic ignores the growing fractures in South Sudan. Under international law, placing more weapons in the hands of conflicting parties that engage in grave human rights violations and crimes would only worsen the situation.

Civilians are the targets of South Sudan’s security and defense forces’ attacks on them. For more than ten years, the South Sudanese army, National Security Service, and armed opposition forces have been linked to war crimes and human rights violations, including those committed by the UN Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan and the AU Commission of Inquiry.

In fact, South Sudan’s government reportedly used improvised incendiary weapons in aerial attacks, killing at least 58 people and injuring others, including children, when the AUPSC called for the lifting of the arms embargo.

The arms embargo’s existence, in my opinion, is not sufficient; it needs to be enforced. After sending troops and military equipment to South Sudan in early March without giving a notification or receiving a special exemption from the UNSC Sanctions Committee, that is already faltering. This clearly violates the embargo.

Despite the government’s fleet being reportedly inactive and grounded since the arms embargo was imposed in 2018, South Sudan’s Mi-24 helicopters also appear to be moving. This suggests that the embargo was violated by sourcing spare parts.

Two helicopter gunships shot at Old Fangak, killing seven people, and injuring 20 others, according to a report from Doctors Without Borders on May 4. International humanitarian law prohibits deliberate attacks on medical facilities that carry out their humanitarian duties and would result in war crimes. This is yet another indication that the UNSC needs to re-enforce and strengthen the arms embargo.

A new UNSC arms embargo wouldn’t obstruct the reform of the security sector if properly implemented and enforced. Instead, it would stop South Sudan’s disorderly and destabilizing arm accumulation, which is causing the current conflict and making violations against civilians worse.

The strict controls on arms transfers to South Sudan should be supported by the AU, and the African nations in the UNSC should vote to renew the arms embargo.

Newcastle sporting director to leave after one year

Less than 12 months after his appointment, Newcastle United’s sporting director Paul Mitchell will step down with mutual consent at the end of June.

Dan Ashworth left St James’ Park for Manchester United in July 2024, and the former Spurs sporting director took over as manager.

After only five months in his new position, Ashworth left United in December 2024, and earlier this month agreed to work in the Football Association as head of the elite’s development.

Mitchell and Newcastle CEO Darren Eales, who hired him at Tottenham Hotspur in 2014, had previously spoken, but Eales will soon step down due to health issues.

“I want to thank everyone at Newcastle United for their support over the past year,” Mitchell said.

“I’m leaving at a moment that’s right for me and the club, particularly Darren Eales, with whom I have worked so closely throughout my career, who will soon be moving.”

The club is “in a fantastic position to continue growing,” the club said. “The club is in excellent hands both on and off the pitch.”
