Taylor Swift’s ‘wedding to end all weddings’ with Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are tipped to tie the knot next year in what experts predict will be a day to ‘dwarf any celebrity nuptials we’ve seen before’

With a summer engagement to NFL superstar Travis Kelce and an early Christmas gift to fans in the shape of a record-breaking new album, it’s been another remarkable year for Taylor Swift. “As we come to the end of 2025, Taylor seems to be in the best possible place – both professionally and personally,” says PR expert Lynn Carratt. “After riding the wave of her Eras Tour and releasing The Life Of A Showgirl , settling down with Travis is definitely the icing on the cake.”

Previously famed for singing about heartbreak and lost love, things look very different for Taylor, 35, nowadays. “She has found an ultra-supportive partner in Travis, and really seems to be on top of the world,” says Annie Zaleski, author of Taylor Swift: The Stories Behind The Songs . “Everything has fallen into place for her.” In August, Taylor and the Kansas City Chiefs ace caused a social media meltdown after announcing their engagement.

As the news spread like wildfire, Instagram struggled to keep up with the millions of likes generated by Taylor’s post. “The reaction was just incredible,” says Lynn, director of E20 Communications. “They knew by putting it on Instagram it would blow up, and it’s all everyone was talking about – even President Trump commented on it.”

Alongside beautiful photos of Travis, 36, proposing in the garden of his Missouri estate, the momentous announcement included Taylor’s now immortal words, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” It became the fastest post to ever reach a million Instagram reposts, achieving the milestone in six hours.

With the news coming hot on the heels of Taylor’s big reveal about her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl , it brought double delight for the Swiftiverse. “The timing of both announcements, just two weeks apart, could not have been better,” says Lynn. “It was a genius strategic PR move, firstly getting fans excited about her new music, and then offering this rare glimpse into her personal life.”

Insiders believe the couple – affectionately nicknamed ‘Tayvis’ – could tie the knot as soon as next summer, with Lynn adding, “I’m sure it won’t be a very long engagement – I think they’ll want to get on with it.” Taylor’s Rhode Island mansion has been tipped as a potential venue, having its own private beachfront and over five acres of land. She has also hosted many parties at the New England property in the past.

While specific details will no doubt remain top-secret for the foreseeable future, the Swift-Kelce nuptials will undoubtedly become a global obsession. “It’s already been framed as the wedding to end all weddings,” adds Lynn. “It could dwarf any celebrity nuptials we’ve seen before – bigger than the Bezos wedding earlier this year. But this being Taylor and Travis, I’m sure it’ll all be extremely tasteful.”

The pair first got together in the summer of 2023, after Travis attended one of Taylor’s Eras shows and then revealed his crush on her on his and brother Jason’s New Heights podcast. He urged Taylor to “just meet me once, just give me a chance” and after agreeing, she later said, “Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell.”

She also admitted, “I owe a lot to this podcast… This podcast got me a boyfriend.” Within weeks, Taylor was seen watching Travis at Chiefs matches, loyally wearing the team’s red jersey. Though some initially claimed the relationship was a publicity stunt between the biggest pop princess on the planet and the alpha-male athlete, that was far from the case.

“Travis is not the jock that some assumed him to be,” says Annie. “He has a sensitive side and often gets emotional when talking about Taylor. He’s thoughtful in interviews, and though it’s hard to be in the spotlight, he seems to have come into his own in a lovely way.”

Speaking on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason in August, Taylor opened up about the early days of their romance. She revealed how they got to know each other “in a way that’s very natural, very pure, very normal” and said Travis “could make me laugh so immediately about normal things”.

She also called him “a vibe booster” and likened him to a “human exclamation point”. Just as lovestruck, Travis said of their first meeting, “It was the easiest conversation I ever had, and it was so much fun that it knocked my socks off.”

In October 2023, the pair were seen holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty, and their status as America’s golden couple was firmly sealed in February 2024 when they shared a public kiss after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

“Taylor moved mountains to get there for that game, flying in from Japan,” says Annie. “It showed how serious things were, because she knew how important the Super Bowl was to Travis. At the end, it was like the rest of the world fell away and it was just the two of them on the field. You could see how proud she was.”

As their relationship intensified, songs on Taylor’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department , were heavily influenced by Travis. So High School included the lyrics, “You knew what you wanted and, boy, you got her,” while The Alchemy had lines like, “We’ve been on a winning streak” and “Where’s the trophy? He just comes runnin’ over to me.”

Travis has been equally vocal about the impact Taylor has had on him, too. “She makes me so much better,” he has said. “I am the luckiest man in the world.”

When Taylor’s spectacular tour ended last December after taking in five continents, the pair were finally able to enjoy a little downtime. In June this year, Travis shared Instagram shots of them holidaying with friends, having dinner together and messing about in the snow.

“Had some adventures this offseason,” he captioned the post. But while Taylor was slowly floating back to earth following Eras , there was another distraction in the shape of The Life O f A Showgirl .

Released on 3 October, she first announced the album on New Heights in August, with the episode shattering records in the process. It was YouTube ’s most-watched podcast premiere ever, while the album became the most pre-saved on Spotify’s Countdown Page in history, surpassing her previous record with The Tortured Poets Department.

“Taylor doesn’t just smash album sales, she disrupts every single medium and metric,” says Lynn. “She has the golden touch, and almost everything she touches breaks a record – often one that she’s previously set.”

‘Enthralling’ crime series hailed as best British drama finally coming to Netflix

The beloved crime drama first premiered on television in 2013 and is considered one of the best British TV shows of all time — and it’s finally coming to Netflix in just a few days

When it first hit our screens back in 2013 critics and fans alike couldn’t get enough of this crime drama.

Described as “simply a knockout” by one critic, Broadchurch was written and crafted by Chris Chibnall and aired on ITV across three series from 2013 to 2017. Now, the cherished British ‘whodunnit’ mystery is arriving on Netflix in just a few days.

Landing on the streaming platform on November 18, Broadchurch features David Tennant and Olivia Colman in leading roles as Detective Inspector Alec Hardy and Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller. Alongside them forming an impressive ensemble cast are Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Arthur Darvill, Carolyn Pickles, Jonathan Bailey, Matthew Gravelle, Charlotte Beaumont and Adam Wilson — all of whom featured throughout the programme’s three series.

Located in the imaginary English seaside town of Broadchurch on the Dorset coastline, the acclaimed series initially debuted in April 2013 and earned seven BAFTA nominations for its opening series alone. Colman secured the Best Actress BAFTA for her performance as Ellie, whilst David Bradley claimed the prize for Best Supporting Actor and the programme took home the prestigious Best Drama Series accolade. The show also claimed a Peabody Award for its inaugural series, reports the Express.

The British crime drama boasts a staggering average rating of 92 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes across its three seasons, earning widespread praise from both critics and audiences. One reviewer said: “It’s among the best detective shows – and perhaps even among the best dramas — in several years. It will break your heart and keep you guessing all the way through.”

Another critic, in a rave review of the debut series, wrote: “Broadchurch is based on a generic premise, but nothing feels stale. With depth and passion, Colman brings her character’s profound questioning to vibrant life.” A third reviewer commented on the series’ second season: “After the brilliant first season of Broadchurch came to a devastating conclusion, I didn’t think a second season was necessary. I was wrong.”

Praising both leading stars, one critic noted: “Most viewers will probably tune in to see Tennant in a dark and unfamiliar role, but as great as he is in the role, the real standout performance comes from Olivia Colman.” Viewer reviews were equally outstanding, with one fan writing: “Absolutely amazing. The story was absolutely thrilling and had me completely hooked the whole way through. All the actors were absolutely class, especially David Tennant and Olivia Coleman. This is a must watch.”

One viewer wrote a glowing review, saying: “Incredible cinematography. Compelling, emotional acting. Beautiful setting. The story and characters are so real that it’s impossible not to binge. I was enthralled for the entire season, even though the show has no gore, no shootouts, and none of the over the top sensational graphics that are so often seen in crime thrillers.” Meanwhile, another fan wrote: “An absolute revelation, it’s something I never quite expected. Broadchurch is deep, analytical, dark and… well, unforgettable. Loved it.”

Adam Peaty’s aunt brands Holly Ramsay ‘hurtful’ as family wedding row rages on

Adam Peaty’s aunt has weighed in on the family feud that saw the Olympic swimmer’s mum banished from the guest list for his wedding to Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, Holly Ramsay

Adam Peaty’s aunt has hit out at the treatment of his mum after she was removed from her son’s wedding guest list. The fallout between the family ahead of the Olympian’s marriage to Holly Ramsay continues to rumble on and now his aunt has had her say.

Taking to Instagram to vent her frustration, Louise fumed towards Adam’s wife-to-be and daughter of Gordon Ramsay. She wrote: “@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do.

“As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.

“A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night.”

She went on: “You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum’s assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law. I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam.”

Louise ended by telling the pair: “You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.”

The tension is thought to have surrounded Adam and Holly’s decision to snub the gown Caroline had bought for their big day. Issues reportedly came to a head when Caroline bought her frock, but was told by her son and future daughter-in-law that they didn’t approve of it.

It’s claimed the couple offered to buy her a new outfit for their special day, but plans to go shopping were halted. They were said to be going to goto Bath to find the new dress.

However, the plans never came to fruition after a recent knife attack in Cambridgeshire caused train cancellations. This left Caroline and her husband Mark unable to travel. It’s reported their son Adam was furious at the change in plans.

And it appears that it’s not just the wedding list Caroline was struck from. Both she and Holly appear to have decided enough is enough on social media.

The duo appear to have unfollowed each other on Instagram. Reports suggest it will only be Adam’s sister from his side of the family that will now attend his wedding.

Bethany joined the likes of Victoria Beckham at Holly’s recent hen do and it’s thought she will still be there to see her brother get married.

Australia’s first treaty with Aboriginal people signed in state of Victoria

The first treaty between Indigenous people and a government in Australia has entered into law in the state of Victoria after it was finalised and signed.

Members of the state’s First Peoples Assembly gathered for a ceremony to sign the document on Wednesday evening before state Governor Margaret Gardner added her signature to the treaty on Thursday morning.

Jill Gallagher, a Gunditjmara woman and former commissioner of the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission, told Australian public broadcaster ABC that the treaty represents “the story of the Aboriginal people’s resistance”.

“I feel very happy. I’m just over the moon,” Gallagher said.

“Today marks a turning point in our nation’s history, a moment where old wounds can begin to heal and new relationships can be built on truth, justice and mutual respect,” she said.

Victoria’s Premier Jacinta Allan described the signing of the treaty as marking a “new chapter” in the state’s history.

“It is a chapter that is founded on truth, guided by respect and carried forward through partnership … a partnership to build a stronger, fairer, more equal Victoria for everyone,” Allan said.

Australia was colonised by the then-British Empire in 1788, with settlers first arriving in what is now known as Victoria in the early 1800s.

While British powers entered into treaties with Indigenous peoples in other colonised countries, including Canada, New Zealand and the United States, no treaty was ever signed in Australia.

The treaty, which has been described as historic by the United Nations human rights chief Volker Turk, formalises the creation of the permanent First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria.

Turk said the treaty “addresses the continued exclusion of and discrimination against the country’s First Peoples – the result of colonisation”.

The agreement, he added, had the “potential to be truly transformative, ensuring the First Peoples have a direct voice in advising and shaping laws, policies and practices that affect their lives”.

The treaty process began in 2016 and included the Yoorrook Justice Commission, a formal truth-telling body which concluded in June this year and heard from Indigenous people harmed by colonisation, including members of the Stolen Generations, who were Indigenous children taken from their families and communities by state agencies and religious organisations.

Australia held a referendum in 2023 that sought to change the constitution and create a permanent Indigenous voice to inform parliament on issues related to Indigenous people.

The referendum failed to achieve enough support to change the constitution.

Israeli president condemns ‘shocking’ settler attacks in occupied West Bank

Israeli President Isaac Herzog and army chief Eyal Zamir have condemned burgeoning Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in a rare public rebuke of what has become a daily cycle of violence often backed by the Israeli military.

Herzog on Wednesday described the attacks as “shocking and serious,” adding a rare and powerful voice to what has been heavily muted criticism by top Israeli officials of the settler violence, which involves killings and beatings of civilians and destruction of their property.

On Thursday, a group of Israeli settlers vandalised a mosque near the town of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, according to the Wafa news agency.

Quoting a local activist, the agency reported that Israeli settlers poured flammable material at the entrance of the mosque and wrote racial slurs on its walls. The report said residents helped put the fire out before it spread through the mosque.

Dozens of masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villages in the West Bank on Tuesday, setting fire to vehicles and other property before fighting with Israeli soldiers.

Herzog said the violence, committed by a “handful” of perpetrators, “crosses a red line”, adding in a social media post that “all state authorities must act decisively to eradicate the phenomenon.”

Zamir also strongly condemned the recent sharp increase in attacks.

“We are aware of the recent violent incidents in which Israeli civilians attacked Palestinians and Israelis,” Zamir was quoted on Wednesday by the Israeli army as saying.

“I strongly condemn them,” he said, adding that the Israeli military “will not tolerate criminal behaviour by a small minority that tarnishes the law-abiding public”.

US expresses concern

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he was worried recent violence by Israeli settlers in the West Bank could spill over and undermine US-backed peace efforts in Gaza.

“I hope not,” Rubio told reporters after a meeting of Group of Seven foreign ministers in Canada when asked whether the events could endanger the Gaza ceasefire.

“We don’t expect it to. We’ll do everything we can to make sure it doesn’t happen.”

In Tuesday’s incidents, settlers attacked the villages of Beit Lid and Deir Sharaf, setting fire to four dairy trucks, farmland, tin shacks and tents belonging to a Bedouin community.

Palestinian official Muayyad Shaaban said the attacks were part of a campaign to drive Palestinians from their land and accused Israel of giving the settlers protection and immunity.

Israeli police said four Israelis were arrested in what they described as “extremist violence”.

A video verified by Al Jazeera shows several vehicles on fire as Palestinians try to extinguish the flames.

Israeli soldiers were also attacked by a group of settlers, and a military vehicle was damaged. That is a rare occurrence as settlers have rampaged with impunity, often with the military’s backing.

‘Ongoing cycle of terror’

Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,350 attacks across the West Bank last month in an “ongoing cycle of terror”, the Palestinian Authority’s Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CRRC) reported last week.

CRRC head Mu’ayyad Sha’ban said Israeli forces carried out 1,584 attacks – including direct physical attacks, the demolition of homes and the uprooting of olive trees – with most of the violence focused on the governorates of Ramallah (542), Nablus (412) and Hebron (401).

Settler attacks often escalate during the olive harvest from September to November, a vital time of year that provides a key source of income for many Palestinian families.

On Monday, B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights group, said settlers were attacking Palestinians “daily”, including “shooting, beating and threatening residents, throwing stones, torching fields, destroying trees and crops, stealing produce, blocking roads, invading homes, and burning cars”.

Israeli settlements are Jewish-only communities built on Palestinian land that Israel occupied in 1967. They are illegal under international law.

Today, 600,000 to 750,000 settlers live in more than 250 settlements and outposts across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. Many of these are near Palestinian towns and villages, often leading to tensions and severe movement restrictions for Palestinians.
