In light of rumors about a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, Bruno Fernandes’ captain, Ruben Amorim, said on Friday that he thinks he wants to stay at Manchester United.
With a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong, Fernandes’ opener, with Chido Obi, a teenage substitute, scoring twice, set up United’s game.
During the post-season break, manager Amorim has plenty to think about after taking over from Erik ten Hag during the campaign but leading United to a disappointing 15th-place finish in the Premier League.
The future of key player Fernandes, who is reportedly considering a big-money move to Al Hilal, is foremost among his concerns.
When asked if Fernandes, 30,’s last appearance in a United shirt, did Amorim respond, “I don’t think so, I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think so.”
He appears to be seeing some actions and attempts to alter everything, and I believe he wants to stay.
Amorim continued, “I talk to him, I explained some things, and I just have that feeling when you talk to someone, I think you have that feeling if he wants to stay.”
United were underwhelming in the first half of their second post-season friendly on Wednesday, being beaten and booed off in Malaysia as they put a dent in their campaign.
After being let down by a soft Hong Kong goal, Obi made a smart turn and scored again five minutes later, heading home with a glancing header.
United ended their Asia trip on a high note with a late header from Ayden Heaven.
Before going off, Portugal international Fernandes had a successful opening half at the 40, 000-capacity Hong Kong Stadium, which was about 85 percent capacity.
Despite having the appearance to be leaving Old Trafford, Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho also started.
In southern China, where it was light rain all afternoon and evening, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund were the first regulars to feature.
The hosts took the lead in the 19th minute with their first attack, but Fernandes and Garnacho were in the first half against a Hong Kong team that was ranked 153rd in the world.
Tom Heaton, the stand-in goalkeeper for United, made a poor save from Juninho, who was born in Brazil, who slipped into the net.
Amorim had his hands on his hips as he sat.
Fernandes should have scored when clean through, but he was denied because of the raindrops and the wind.
Jeremie Frimpong has been signed for 35 million euros (£29.95 million) from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal by Liverpool.
The Premier League champions ratified their move for Dutch international Frimpong after activating the 24-year-old’s release clause just hours after Real Madrid announced Trent Alexander-Arnold would join them in time to compete in the Club World Cup.
Frimpong, a versatile right-footer, is regarded as Alexander-Arnold’s replacement in Arne Slot’s squad.
He contributed significantly to Leverkusen’s 2023-2024 title defense and made 53 appearances overall as they finished second overall in 24-25.
Before making a move to Leverkusen in January 2021, the Dutchman started out at Manchester City as a youth and later joined Celtic.
At Liverpool, Frimpong joins Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch from the Netherlands.
Leverkusen and Liverpool are also interested in signing Florian Wirtz.
The club have advanced their bids for German international Wirtz, with a total of about £109 million.

It’s not just your skin that needs protecting from the sun in summer; your hair does too – and REHAB has launched a new travel-friendly hair oil that does exactly that, while also “stopping frizz”, say shoppers.
REHAB – which counts Stacey Solomon as not only a fan but a business partner too – has just launched its new Sunshine Spritz UV Protection Hair Oil, debuting with a 20% discount, taking it down from its usual price of £26 to £20.80. This oil features a blend of strand-smoothing oils but octocrylene to protect against UV rays, plus it comes in REHAB’s trademark single-use capsules, which are perfect for travelling, enabling you to take as few or as many as you need.

Sunshine Spritz Hair Oil may have only just launched but it has already racked up a high number of positive reviews from happy shoppers, with almost all of them five star ones.
“As with every single other Rehab product I have purchased, this new oil is gorgeous,” one loyal fan wrote. “Am currently using it now in 95 degree heat. Protecting my hair and stopping the frizz. I love it.”
“This was so amazing! My hair felt so soft and the smell of the oil is wonderful. I think its my favourite,” another agreed.
A third customer wrote how they though it was “probably the best frizzy relaxer [they’ve] used so far” and that it “smells great”, although did explain how “the first time I used this I used it all over, but now I don’t put it in my roots. It can make your hair look greasy.” This is good advice to follow when using any hair oil, as most don’t need to be applied over the whole length of the hair.

As part of REHAB’s new Sunshine Spritz range, there’s also a product to protect another delicate part of your body from the sun: your lips. SPF Lip Oil, usually £16 but currently £12.80, has a glossy finish and contains SPF 15 to add shine while it shields. Shoppers can also save even more when they buy the two products together in the UV Hair Oil & SPF Lip Oil Bundle for £31.50 instead of the usual £42.
If you prefer sun protection for your hair in a spray instead, Pantene has just launched its Pro-V Sunkiss Glow Hair Spray, £12, which contains ingredients to defend against UV, salt and chlorine – all things that can damage your hair – or your hair’s colour – when on holiday.

Taylor Swift has made a significant announcement to the public. The singer-songwriter thanked her supporters for their continued support in a lengthy statement that described the news as her “greatest dream come true.”
Taylor, 35, claims to now own “all the music,” including unreleased songs, that she’s ever produced. Following a controversy over her back catalogue, which has previously caused controversy, she released re-recorded versions of albums from earlier in her career.
Re-recorded versions of her debut album, Taylor Swift from 2006, and Reputation, which came out in 2017, were still available, according to the Grammy Award winner’s teaser in a message posted on her website. She said it will be “when the time is right” and that there will be a “celebration” as well.
Taylor told fans today, “All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs to me.” She claimed that it includes all of her unreleased music videos, concert videos, album artwork, and photography. “The memories,” she continued. The magic . The madness . Every single era. My life’s work is.
Taylor Swift has revealed that she now owns all of her music on Instagram (taylorswift/instagram).
She said, “My mind is just a slidehow at the moment, but I’m trying to organize my thoughts into something coherent.” A collection of all the opportunities I longed for, wished for, and wished I never saw the opportunity to share this news.
I repeatedly reached out for it, only for it to fall through. After 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away, I almost gave up believing it could ever occur. That is all, however, now. Since discovering that this is actually happening, I’ve been bursting into joy at random intervals.
Taylor continued, “Being very reserved about it is to say this is my greatest dream come true. She stated that she has released re-recorded versions of four albums because she “knows how important” “it has been to her” and that she has learned how important it is.
She continued, “I was able to buy back my music because of the passionate support you showed those albums and the success story you turned the Eras Tour.” I have spent my entire life pursuing this art, but I have never owned it. I can’t thank you enough.
The artist once said, “All I’ve ever wanted is the freedom to work hard enough to eventually buy my music without any restrictions, no partnership, and full autonomy.” I’ll be forever grateful to Shamrock Capital staff for providing this for me for the first time.
Taylor claimed that the company had made a “business deal” with her, who is said to have most recently owned her masters, but that they had taken it for granted. She continued, “My memories, my sweat, my handwriting, and my decades of dreams.”
Scooter Braun purchased some of Taylor’s early work’s master recordings in 2019, with a dispute between them that has since caused national media coverage (Getty Images).
Fans have been eagerly awaited the release of Taylor’s Version, which she also updated. Taylor claimed that she hasn’t “yet” even re-recorded a quarter of it. However, she didn’t rule out finishing the new version.
Taylor claimed that the album was “so specific” to a specific period in her life, and that she “continued to hit a halt” when she attempted to remaster it. All that defiance, that yearning for understanding while being purposefully misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief, she said.
It’s the one album in those first six that, to be completely honest, I didn’t feel could be improved upon by doing. Taylor continued, “Taylor said she kept putting it off, but she suggested there would be a time to “get the unreleased Vault tracks” to be canceled.”
Taylor continued, “I’ve already completely re-recorded my debut album, and I really like how it sounds now. If that’s something you guys would be interested in, those two albums may still have their moments that when the time comes. She claimed that it wouldn’t come from a “place of sorrow and longing” if it were to be celebrated now.
She concluded, “I’m extremely encouraged by the conversations this saga has reignited in my industry among artists and fans.” I’m reminded of how crucial it was for everything to happen when a new artist claims they negotiated to own their own master recordings in their record deal.
Every bit of it counted, and ended us up here, Taylor said as he thanked the fans who had supported him. The best things that have ever been mine… finally are, thanks to you and your goodwill, teamwork, and encouragement.
After his former band’s manager Scooter Braun purchased Taylor’s former record label Big Machine Label Group in 2019, his company Ithaca Holdings acquired the rights to her six albums. The previous year, Taylor left the label and reportedly held the rights to her first six albums. She had recently signed with Universal Music Group. Then it was revealed in 2020 that Shamrock Holdings had purchased her master recordings.

According to officials and rights advocates, a suspected drone attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a hospital in southern Sudan, the most recent civilian facility targeted during the brutal civil war, claimed at least six people.
The RSF was held responsible for the attack on Friday at the Obeid International Hospital, al-Dhaman, in Obeid, the provincial capital, in North Kordofan province, by the Emergency Lawyers. According to the report, the attack claimed injured at least 15 others.
The hospital claimed that the attack caused significant damage to its main building in a statement posted on social media. The hospital’s main medical facility, which provides the region, was ordered to suspend services until further notice, according to the statement.
A second hospital in the city center was also hit by the bombardment, according to a source from Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) intelligence.
The city serves as a crucial staging point for the army’s supply to the west, where El-Fasher, the only state capital in the vast Darfur region still under the control of the army, is located.
Despite international warnings about the potential for violence in a city that serves as a major humanitarian hub for the five Darfur states, El-Fasher has been the site of attritional fighting between SAF and RSF since May 2024.
outbreak of cholera
The Health Ministry in Khartoum state on Thursday reported 942 new cholera infections and 25 deaths, a rise from 1, 177 cases and 45 deaths the day before, adding to humanitarian woes on the ground.
Aid workers claim that the fight against cholera is slipping because almost 90% of hospitals in key warzones are no longer operational.
In 12 of Sudan’s 18 states, at least 1, 700 deaths have been reported since August 2024, including at least 1,700 deaths. As a result of more than two years of fighting between the army and the RSF, Kartova has seen 7,700 cases and 185 deaths, including more than 1, 000 infections in children under five.
According to Jean-Nicolas Armstrong Dangelser, the Sudanese emergency coordinator known by its French initials MSF, “Sudan urgently needs an increase in aid to help combat the cholera outbreak, hundreds of cases per day, which has even exceeded the more than 1000 cases per day.”
Nobody has the complete picture at the moment, sadly, so Dangelser said, “This is only the tip of the iceberg.”
Fighting in the south of Ondurman’s al-Salha district, where there were pockets of cholera patients, “greatly contributed” to the spread of the disease, according to Dangelser. The al-Salha district, which is thought to be Khartoum State’s final stronghold, was under the control of the army on May 19 when it was announced.
“The returnees to Khartoum are now exacerbating the situation because of the devasted water system and lack of healthcare,” Dangelser continued. “It’s also now spreading to Darfur, where people have been displaced by fighting.”
Sudanese refugees fleeing the conflict outside of their own country, where violence and death are common. Local authorities reported that 11 Sudanese refugees and a Libyan driver were killed in a car crash in Libya’s desert on Friday.
The UN has reported that 250, 000 people have fled their homes since the RSF and SAF clashed in neighboring Libya, out of which 11 million have been forced out of their homes since April 2023.
Despite being one of the original YouTube stars, Louise Pentland has revealed that she is worried about kids life online in the modern social media world

One of the ‘original YouTubers’ turned Loose Women star shared she now has has “so many concerns” about children being on social media.
Louise Pentland, 40, amassed millions of followers online and shot to fame in the early days of the video-sharing website, but now a mum, she insists she has to be strict about the kind of content her children consume and share online.
The social media star first launched her channel in January 2010 and has been watched more than 195 million times on the platform, amassing a staggering 2.17 million followers.
She was one of the original stars of the platform, making a name for herself alongside the likes of Joe Sugg, Caspar Lee, Jim Chapman, Marcus Butler, Zoella and more – known as the Brit Crew.
But now speaking on Loose Women, she voiced her worries about life online, she said: “I have so many concerns about children online. I try to find a really healthy balance, and some people would say I could share more, some people could say I could share less.

“I don’t do daily vlogging, or weekly vlogging or anything like that. I know my children. Darcy is a little showperson, she loves theatre and dance. Pearl, not so much.
“Darcy has a TikTok, which is a private account; she has an Instagram, which is a public account, but she’s not allowed to just post whenever she likes. It has to be well thought-out, and I have to check it out.
“There’s so many safety features if you know about them. I don’t think they’re obvious enough but I’m logged in to her things so I see everything that is coming in and everything going out. As much as you trust your child, you can’t trust the world.
“We’re never gonna get rid of social media, it’s here for good, so I would rather train her to use it wisely and sensibly while she still listens to me!”
Despite the potential concerns she raised, she also shared how the website helped her through some “really dark times”, keeping her motivated while having the support of her community around her. But again, she insists that having clear online “boundaries” is important when she decides what part of her life she shares on camera.

She said: “There have been some really dark times in my life. I had a very difficult, turbulent childhood, and I have been divorced. During those times, not the childhood, but, say, when my marriage came to an end, YouTube was a really joyful distraction.
“I do share the down bits, but also I think it’s really important that we remember to have boundaries, and you don’t need to share every single thing with every single person.
“So I try and find a balance of not making everything look perfect and remembering what is personal. When you’re dealing with your children and your family, you’ve got to have those boundaries.”
