Although Danielle Collins may have lost her Miami Open hopes, she will travel to Florida this week along with a lifetime friend.
Aryna Sabalenka defeated Collins, the world number 15, on Monday, putting an end to the American’s hopes of keeping her Miami Open crown.
After discovering an injured dog two days earlier on her way out of the Hard Rock Stadium, the 31-year-old may have had another thought.
After being hit by a car, Collins found the dog, which he had taken to a nearby veterinary hospital, curled up in the middle of the road.
The former world number seven has since revealed that she has adopted him and given him the name Crash. She previously prayed for the dog.
After five days on oxygen support, “Crash is recovering and finally leaving the hospital,” Collins wrote on Instagram.
He is clearly enjoying all the love he’s received, his breathing is back to normal, and his wounds are healing. He is curious, affectionate, and appreciative of a second chance at life.
After being hit by a car and left in the middle of the road with a dog’s curled up body, it was “so incredibly painful to watch him in such pain.”
“I’m just grateful that I was able to visit him and give him the care he needed,” he said.
A fraud investigation brought against Leo Stan Ekeh, the chairman of Zinox Technologies, his wife Chioma Ekeh, and 11 others was dismissed by the Federal Capital Territory Abuja’s Bwara Division.
The lawsuit in Suit No. CR/985/2024 “constitutes a gross abuse of court process and is liable for dismissal,” according to Justice Akpan Okon Ebong. I subsequently cite its dismissal.
Femi Falana (SAN), the attorney general and justice minister Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), filed the lawsuit against Zinox Technologies and 12 others in November 2024.
Chris Ozims, Oyebode Folashade, Charles Adigwe, Obilo Onuoha, Agartha Ukoha, Anya Anya, Femi Dosumu, Nnenna Kalu, Admas Digital Technologies Limited, Technology Distributions Limited, and Zinox Technologies Limited are the other defendants in the case.

As requested, the fiat gave the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the legal representative of Zinox Technologies Limited, Chris Ozims, and six others the authority to file and prosecute a previous case with Charge No CR/827/2013 at the expense of the nominal complainant, Joseph Benjamin.
A court gavel
However, Falana’s client, Benjamin, the CEO of Citadel Oracle Concept Limited, an Ibadan-based computer company, filed charges against Ekeh, nine other individuals, and three companies in the Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly defrauding them of N162, 247, 513.80, which were part of a contract for laptop supplies from Citadel in 2012, in the Suit No CR/985/2024 that Technology Distribution Ltd (now TD Africa) on behalf of his
Falana’s expansion of the defendants from seven to thirteen was criticized by the judge. Justice Akpan Ebong stated in his ruling on March 20, 2025, that “the mere fact that a lawyer has been given a fiat by the HAGF (Fagbemi) will not turn him into a Knight Errant, like Don Quixote, going everywhere looking for suspected criminals to prosecute,” as stated in the certified true copy.
The judge ruled that Falana had the authority to “refile and prosecute the case” under the fiat, but that that power does not apply to amendments, additions, or substitutions.
“The Charge No. The judge continued, “CR/827/2013, which he was asked to handle, lists only seven defendants, while the instant charge that he filed contains 13 defendants, almost twice the number of defendants he was authorized to prosecute,” added the judge.
Based on the information provided, I believe that this charge (No. The Federal Republic of Nigeria v. Leo Stan Ekeh and 12 ORS, filed under FCT/HC/CR/985/2024, constitutes a flagrant abuse of court procedure and is liable for dismissal. I subsequently cite its dismissal.
Justice Ebong also pointed out that none of the law enforcement organizations investigating the nominal complainant’s numerous petitions have found any merit in his claims against the defendants.
Former Sentebale trustee Dr. Kelello Lerotholi, who also resigned at the same time as its founders Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, claims the pair are “torn apart” because they chose to do so in the midst of a contentious boardroom row.

A trustee who quit Prince Harry’s charity at the same time as him in an extraordinary row has said he is worried about the royal’s “emotional wellbeing”. In a shock statement, the Duke of Sussex revealed he would be resigning as patron of Sentebale, the charity he helped to set up almost 20 years ago in honour of his late mother Princess Diana to help children affected by HIV/AIDs.
His resignation along with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, the charity’s other joint founder, came just hours before its chairwoman Dr Sophie Chandauka appeared to criticise Harry for “”playing the victim card” and issued a blistering statement alleging there had been “poor governance, weak executive management, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, misogynoir”.

Numerous trustees have resigned from the organization after requesting Dr. Chandauka’s resignation due to a dispute with her. According to some, the dispute stemmed from a decision to concentrate fundraising in Africa. And now, Dr. Kelello Lerotholi, a trustee for the charity since it started in 2006, has revealed he is concerned about Harry’s emotional well-being amid the bitter row.
He told The Times: “I think given their commitment to the welfare of kids, they are torn apart at the thought of looking like they’re abandoning them when they know that they’re not abandoning them.”
When Harry was 19 years old, Harry spent two months in Botswana while he was still in his gap year. This inspired him to start the charity, which is now active there as well. He visited herd boys who live in remote mountain areas and visit Aids orphans who had been living in harsh conditions.

Two years later – in memory of his late mother – he set up Sentebale with Prince Seeiso to help young people and children in southern Africa, particularly those living with HIV and Aids. Its name means ‘forget-me-not’ – the favourite flower of Harry’s late mother.
You’ll be surprised, he said when he founded the organization in Lesotho nearly 20 years ago. In 25 years, you’ll notice a significant change when you return to this location. I’m committed for the rest of my life, the young prince said.
Dr. Lerotholi, a Seeiso cousin, refers to Harry as “family” after the prince would visit his house to watch rugby during his 2004 break. He continued, “They would leave for the mountains and then return to my house to be refreshed, watch the rugby, and hang out.”
The prince took him on those trips to the remote, rural areas where he first saw the dire straits and difficult circumstances facing young people there.

Harry and Seeiso confirmed their decision to step down as patrons in a statement that supported and showed solidarity with the board of trustees, who had to do the same. The dysfunctional relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board caused an untenable situation, which is devastating.

After the late Queen in 2021 removed Harry from his royal patronages and honorary military positions, Harry kept a small number of private patronages at Sentebale. The Charity Commission stated that Sentebale’s governance is “concerned with concerns.” The commission stated in a statement that “we are assessing the issues to determine the appropriate regulatory steps.”
Due to security concerns, the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has ordered the cancellation of this year’s Sallah festivities, including the customary Durbar.
He expressed regret over the decision in a broadcast on Wednesday, but he emphasized that protecting Kano residents’ lives and property is still top of his list of priorities.
Given the current circumstances, he said, “We feel it necessary to withdraw any arrangements made for the Sallah celebrations” in light of the people’s mandate given to us and our commitment to their protection.
Kano Emirship: Appeal Court Rejects Case to Supreme Court
He explained that the decision was made following discussions with prominent religious figures and others who had cautioned against holding the event in the present circumstances.
He emphasized the importance of the Durbar tradition, but he argued that maintaining peace and stability should not be compromised.
“Sallah Durbar is not for us a do-or-die event. It is best to shelve it if it runs the risk of creating chaos, lost lives, or property destruction, he said.
Bayero expressed hope that Kano and other parts of the nation will experience lasting peace as a result of this decision. In order to maintain stability, he also apologised to the state’s citizens, urging them to accept the action.
Prior to this, Bayero had previously written to the police to let them know he planned to keep the Durbar in custody. Concerns were raised about potential violence, as Muhammadu Sanusi II, Kano’s 16th Emir, reportedly planning a similar event.
The Kano Emirate’s leadership conflict has grown even more complicated as a result of tensions between supporters of both traditional rulers.

As his administration struggles to stop the fallout, US President Donald Trump downplayed a recent Signal chat leak as a “witch hunt” and claimed the encrypted messaging app “could be defective” without providing any supporting evidence.
Trump responded to a reporter’s question on Wednesday, asking if his administration should take more responsibility for the chat leak. “The press has] overplayed it,” he said. It’s a witch hunt, in my opinion. I didn’t participate in it at all. I was not there, ” “
A journalist from The Atlantic magazine was unintentionally a part of a top-secret discussion about a looming Houthis attack, according to the Trump administration’s confirmation on Monday.
Some Republican senators are now calling for an investigation into the scandal in response to the House Democrats’ widespread criticism, raising concerns about the political repercussions if the issue is not properly addressed.
Senators Roger Wicker and Jack Reed, the top Democrats on the Senate Armed Services Committee, have announced that they will request an inspector general investigation into the use of the Signal messaging app.
Additionally, they want a top administration official to give a classified briefing, Wicker said, who “actually has the facts and is able to speak on behalf of the administration.”
According to his assertion, “the information, as it has recently been made, appears to be of such a sensitive nature that, based on my knowledge, I would have wanted it classified,” he continued.
Trump responded, “It doesn’t bother me, I don’t want an inspector general probe.”
Republicans criticized Hillary Clinton, who served as secretary of state under President Barack Obama, for communicating via a private email server in 2014.
Clinton is accused of undermining national security, which became one of the most important topics in the 2016 presidential election. Trump defeated her.

Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, described the shocking realization that he had been included in a group discussion about plans to launch military strikes on Yemen in an article published on Monday.
Democrats questioned whether the information shared through Signal was credible given that it contained sensitive US military information about Yemen’s Houthis, which the White House claimed was not classified.
Senator Mark Warner, the leading Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, used the word “baloney” to describe the position the Trump administration is staking out.
Trump, who has defended his national security team and has attacked the reporter’s credibility, has no indication that the controversy will soon end.
