Freddy Brazier has posted a heartfelt message for his dad, Jeff Brazier, after making a tearjerking tribute to his mum, Jade Goody. Jade died on Mother’s Day when Freddy was just four after tragically losing her battle with cancer.

Now 20, Freddy is said to be spending more time with Jade’s mum, Jackiey Budden, allegedly prompting Jeff to seek legal action. However, paying tribute to his dad today, Freddy, showed how much he still loves his parent. Taking to Instagram, sharing a snap of himself with his arms around Jeff, he said: “Forever grateful for you and all you do for me”.

It comes after Freddy paid tribute to his mum, Jade, sharing photos of the pair next to a heartbreaking image of her gravestone with the caption: “Happy heavenly Mother’s Day”.

The Race Around the World star’s dad is reportedly fighting to stop his youngest son from seeing his grandmother, with an insider alleging their relationship has been “detrimental to him”.

Claiming the Postcode Lottery star has “had enough” of the situation, Jade’s widower, Jack Tweed, told The Sun: Jackiey “might let the boys get away with things most parents wouldn’t” claiming: “I think Jeff has finally had enough now where he’s been been doing the right thing.

” Obviously it’s her nan, they love their nan and it’s Jade’s mum, so you can’t stop him seeing her, seeing he never wanted to, but I think he’s just got to the stage now where he’s not really got too much choice.

“He’s just concentrating on the well-being of Freddy rather than making sure Jackiey’s all right and seeing the boys”.

On Friday, Freddy admitted to suffering from “severe mental health” as he revealed he had ADHD and bipolar.

Addressing his followers in his back garden, he said: “Just coming on to say that seizures – or any illness – shouldn’t be made a joke or something to laugh about”, he said.

He then revealed: “Me myself, I suffer from serious mental health, and I’ve got ADHD and bipolar. And it’s not nice when people want to belittle you or talk down on you because of it”.

Meanwhile, Jackiey has insisted grandson is “safe” with her, telling the Mail: “My house is safe for Freddy, and it always has been since he was little.

” The boy is an adult now, and Jeff treats him like he’s ten. It made sense seven years ago when Freddy was still 13 when Jeff first tried to stop him from seeing me, but now he’s 20 years old.

“What possible basis does he have? And do you know what? He’s a clever boy Freddy. He’s not stupid”.

Nine Dead In Katsina Road Accident

At least nine persons have died in an accident at Malumfashi town, along Malumfashi-Kafur Road in Katsina State.

As a result of the accident, 11 persons sustained various degrees of injuries and were immediately rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the ugly incident, which was described as a lone crash, was caused by speeding which led to loss of control.

The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Aliyu Ma’aji, confirmed this to reporters in a statement on Sunday.

He said the incident occurred when the victims were travelling in a Hummer bus conveying 20 people.

Edo PDP Tackles Okpebholo Over ‘Deteriorating Security Situation’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has blamed Governor Monday Okpebholo for the “rapidly deteriorating security situation” in the state, which the party linked to the recent killing of innocent travelers in Uromi.

Some travelers accused of kidnapping were gruesomely murdered by a mob in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the state on Thursday which has attracted public condemnation.

Following the incident, Governor Okpebholo announced the suspension of all illegal vigilante groups operating under whatever guise in the state. He also suspended the Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, CP Friday Ibadin (Rtd. ).

But in a statement signed by the Edo State PDP Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, on Sunday, the opposition party faulted the governor’s actions.

“The recent government classification of the perpetrators as an illegal vigilante group only further exposes the absence of a coherent security framework under the current administration and a continuation of the blame game this government has come to master.

” The suspension of the Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, CP. Friday Ibadin (Rtd. ), is a clear admission by the government that the security architecture of the state has failed.

“The February 5 mutiny by members of the Edo Security Corps was an early warning sign of deep-rooted inefficiencies, yet Senator Monday Okpebholo chose to ignore it. Now, Edo people are paying the price with their lives.

” It is particularly distressing that a vigilante group, operating without any oversight or proper registration, was allowed to take up arms and engage in extra-judicial killings. This is an indictment of the Okpebholo administration’s failure to properly regulate, train, and coordinate security efforts in the state, “the PDP said.

The PDP demanded some urgent measures to restore security and prevent further loss of lives in Edo State.

The demands include”, Comprehensive Audit and Overhaul of the Edo State Security Corps: The security structure must be reviewed to eliminate unregistered groups and ensure accountability in operations.

“Immediate Arrest and Prosecution of All Perpetrators: The government must ensure that all those responsible for the Uromi killings, including their sponsors, face the full weight of the law.

” Deployment of Federal Security Agencies: Given the state government’s apparent inability to maintain law and order, federal intervention is now necessary to stabilize the situation.

“Implementation of a New Security Strategy: The PDP calls for a non-partisan security summit involving all stakeholders—traditional rulers, community leaders, security agencies, and opposition parties—to map out an effective security blueprint for the state.

” The safety of Edo people cannot be sacrificed at the altar of incompetence. Senator Okpebholo must rise to the occasion and take decisive actions or accept that his administration has failed and step aside for those who can secure the lives and properties of our people.

Indian Premier League 2025

Sunrisers Hyderabad 163 (18.4 overs): Aniket 74 (41), Starc 5-35

Delhi Capitals 166-3 (16 overs): Du Plessis 50 (28), Zeeshan 3-42

Delhi Capitals won by seven wickets

Mitchell Starc took his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket as Delhi Capitals cruised to a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

The 35-year-old Australia left-arm quick claimed 5-35 as Sunrisers were bowled out for 163 after their skipper Pat Cummins had won the toss and batted first.

Aniket Verma hit 74 off 41 balls and was one of only three Sunrisers batters to make it into three figures as Starc and Kuldeep Yadav, who finished with 3-22, did the damage.

Faf du Plessis hammered 50 off 27 balls as he and Jake Fraser-McGurk put on 81 for the first wicket to give the Capitals a solid foundation in the chase.

Sunrisers spinner Zeeshan Ansari dismissed both players on his IPL debut to put the brakes on with 3-42.

However, Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs finished unbeaten on 34 and 21 respectively as they got Delhi over the line with 30 balls to spare.

The Capitals have started this year’s IPL with victories in both of their opening two matches.

Starc’s figures eclipsed his previous best in the format nearly a decade ago – 4-15 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL in May 2015.

He bagged the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan early in the SRH innings after both picked out fielders attempting big shots.

However, it was the dismissal of Australia team-mate Travis Head for 22 which gave him the greatest satisfaction and brought a wry smile.

Sunrisers opener Head gloved a delivery from Starc to Delhi wicketkeeper KL Rahul, which ensured Starc has got the wicket of the left-hander six times in all formats.

Head has faced Starc eight times since 2015, and managed just 18 runs off 34 balls.

Starc then returned in the penultimate over of the Sunrisers innings for his final over as he eyed the chance of a maiden T20 five-for in his 209th match in the format.

He was indebted to two superb diving catches from Capitals skipper Axar Patel and Du Plessis – to dismiss Harshal Patel and Wiaan Mulder to complete the feat.

“There’s not many egos in bowlers in T20 cricket – you’re hanging on for dear life sometimes – so it was nice to contribute today”, Starc said after he was given the player of the match award.

I have finally understood the true meaning of Land Day

When I was a school student, every morning, we would gather in the schoolyard and sing songs dedicated to our land, Palestine. Many of our classes would teach us about our culture and traditions deeply rooted in Palestinian land.

Every March 30, we would mark Land Day. Girls would wear embroidered dresses and boys would wear white shirts and keffiyeh. We would sing under a raised Palestinian flag and commemorate the Palestinian land struggle.

I fully realised the true meaning of what I was taught about this struggle only when I faced displacement from my home, when I faced the very real possibility of losing my land.

I was born and raised in the Shujayea neighbourhood on the eastern flank of Gaza City. It is a centuries-old neighbourhood, where farmers and traders settled. Over time, it became one of Gaza’s most densely populated neighbourhoods, known for its strong community ties and history of resistance. It is no coincidence that one of its most prominent people was Dr Refaat Alareer, a poet, a scholar, and my professor in English, who inspired me to write and resist.

My family has lived in Shujayea for centuries. They built home after home in the same area until they created a long street known as Mushtaha Street. This is not just a name, it is a testament to just how deep our roots run in this land.

We not only have our homes in Shujayea but also our farmland. I grew up playing on my grandfather’s olive grove, which he had inherited from his ancestors. The olive trees taught us how to love our land, and how to be steadfast like them.

I have never thought, even for a minute, of leaving my home, my neighbourhood. As a child, I never dreamed of living elsewhere, I wanted to stay where my ancestors had happily lived, to inherit the land, to tend to the olive trees.

The first time we had to flee our Shujayea was when Israel attacked in 2014. I was very young at that time, but I remember every single moment of our evacuation. I remember the missiles and shrapnel flying around and the sound of the screaming and crying. It was a traumatic experience, but throughout it, I was sure that we would soon return.

Then, it happened again almost 10 years later. Throughout the genocide, my family and I had to flee our home more than 10 times. The longest we had to stay away from our neighbourhood was three months. But we never went too far. Despite the extremely difficult conditions, we did not flee to the south, we stayed in the north.

Shujayea endured two invasions during this war, the first in December 2023, and the second in June 2024. The second came suddenly, without warning, on a summer morning while residents were still in their homes.

When the Israeli tanks reached Shujayea, they targeted markets and old restaurants, electricity poles and water pumps, levelling many areas until they were unrecognisable. The once-busy streets turned grey with destruction.

My family home was bombed and partially destroyed. My grandfather’s land was not spared either. The trees that stood for generations, that gave fruit countless seasons, were uprooted and burned.

The loss of his olive grove proved too much for my grandfather. Within three months of hearing the devastating news, he passed away.

Today, we face the prospect of being displaced once again. People from the eastern part of Shujayea have started fleeing under threats from the Israeli army once again. We do not know what is going to happen next. People are afraid but are still hoping there will be another ceasefire.

This year, marking Land Day carries a different meaning: Despite the continuing genocidal war, we are still here, we are still standing, and we are still holding on to the land that we inherited from our ancestors. We will not give up.

On this day, I remember Dr Alareer’s poem:
O, Earth
Hug me
And hold me tight
Or devour me
To suffer no more.
I love thee
So take me.
Make me rich.
Make me dirt.
Gone are the days of serenity.
Guns are the words of humanity.
I have no food but a thorn,
No sport but a sigh.
For a soldier needs to feel high.
O, Earth,
If in life I am to hurt
Let my dirt in you give birth.
O, Earth.
