Norwich have held talks with Gary O’Neil, Will Still and Jon Dahl Tomasson in their search to find a new manager following Liam Manning’s dismissal.

The Canaries met with O’Neil, who played for the club between 2014 and 2016, earlier this week as they step up their recruitment process, while further discussions have been conducted with Still and Tomasson.

Manning was sacked on Saturday following a last-gasp 2-1 defeat by Leicester City, and they have lost of their eight games at Carrow Road this season.

The result left the Canaries 23rd in the Championship.

Former Blackburn and Sweden boss Tomasson is also understood to be among the contenders as he would bring Championship experience following his 90-game reign at Ewood Park.

The 49-year-old, who led Rovers to seventh in the 2022-23 season, was sacked as Sweden boss in October after a poor start to World Cup qualifying.

Still was dismissed by Southampton earlier this month after just five months at St Mary’s, with Saints and Norwich expected to challenge for promotion this term but both now in the lower reaches of the Championship table.

The 33-year-old still retains a reputation as a forward-thinking, promising young coach following his time in France with Reims and Lens.

Manning beat O’Neil to the job in the summer, joining from Bristol City, but the the club have kept their lines of communication open with the former Wolves boss.

O’Neil pulled out of the running for a surprise return to Molineux last week, having concerns about the current suitability of the club.

And Wolves are expected to appoint Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards, a former player and coach at Molineux, this week.

O’Neil, who has also managed Bournemouth, has been out of work since being sacked by Wolves last December.

One displeased shopper said in a three-star review: “Not as comfortable as I would have liked for long walks. Also, the shoe laces keep coming undone which is an irritation. However, they were a good price. Will look for an alternative text time.”

Fubara Vows To Ensure Value For Money, To Review Underperforming Road Contract

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vowed that his administration will ensure Rivers people get full value for money spent on public projects, insisting that he will not tolerate poor performance from contractors.

Governor Fubara made the remark on Tuesday during an inspection of the 14.5-kilometre Ndele-Omofo-Egamini-Agba-Ndele Road project, connecting Emohua, Ahoada East and Abu/Odual Local Government Areas.

Demonstrating his determination to personally assess the work, the Governor defied the difficult terrain, trekking a long distance before continuing in a vehicle to reach the 240-metre Agba-Ndele/Abua Bridge section of the project in Emohua Local Government Area.

Visibly displeased with what he saw on the road, Governor Fubara expressed disappointment at the slow pace and poor quality of work being executed by the contracting firm, Messrs Stream Co. & Equipment Limited.

He hinted at a possible review of the contract to ensure the delivery of quality work to the people.

“I can say here already that the contractor handling the road from the bridge to the East–West Road is not doing a good job. I’m not happy about it. When I get back, there will be a need to review that contract because I’m not impressed. They don’t have the capacity, and we need capacity because we must have value for whatever money we’re spending,” the Governor said.

In contrast, the Governor commended Setraco Nigeria Limited for the impressive pace and standard of work on the 240-metre Agba-Ndele/Abua Bridge, which he described as a vital component of the road project.

He explained that the bridge, which his administration inherited, would significantly improve connectivity among communities in Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East, and Emohua Local Government Areas once completed.

“Where we are standing on is a bridge connecting Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East, and Emohua Local Government Areas. The community that is connected to this bridge is Agba-Ndele. Instead of running through the East–West Road to Ahoada-East and heading into Port Harcourt or out of it, this bridge provides easy access for the Abua/Odual people to cross into Emohua, Agba-Ndele, and access the East–West Road in minutes,” he explained.

Governor Fubara expressed confidence that the bridge would be ready for use by early 2026.

He said the project underscores his administration’s focus on rural connectivity and inter-community access, which are central to his development vision for Rivers State.

According to him, the bridge will open up the corridor for agricultural trade and ease the movement of goods and people between rural communities and the city.

“I’m really impressed with what I’ve seen on the bridge. I’m very sure that before the end of January, it might be completely ready for us to walk through and even drive across,” he said.

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented projects that promote connectivity, commerce, and improved livelihoods across the state, noting that his development plan prioritizes balanced growth and inclusion.

He also disclosed plans to include the rehabilitation of the Abua/Ahoada Road in the 2026 state budget, as part of efforts to open up more communities and sustain economic integration.

“Our vision is to connect the entire Rivers State together, especially communities that have challenges of access. The bridge here connects Abua/Odual and Ahoada-East to Emohua and Port Harcourt. It will ease movement, promote trade, and boost our economy because agriculture is strong on this side. Moving goods to the city won’t be a problem anymore,” he added.

Governor Fubara reiterated that his administration will continue to monitor ongoing projects closely to ensure that only contractors with proven capacity handle government jobs, guaranteeing quality delivery and value for money.

Police Neutralise Bandit, Arrest Three Others In Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has neutralised one suspected bandit and arrested three others in coordinated operations across Maiyama and Shanga Local Government Areas of the state.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the operations followed two separate attacks launched by armed bandits on residents in Botoro Gadi and Kwari communities.

Abubakar said that eight armed men invaded the residence of one Alhaji Sani in Botoro Gadi, Mungadi area of Maiyama LGA, abducting two residents identified as Muhafi Sani and Shamsiya Aliyu.

Upon receiving a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer in Maiyama led a combined team of police operatives and local vigilantes who pursued the attackers and engaged them in a gun battle.

“As a result, one of the suspected kidnappers was killed, while his dane gun and one empty cartridge shell were recovered,” the statement read.

The police spokesperson also revealed that another gang of bandits attacked Kwari village in the Giron Masa area of Shanga LGA, where two residents, identified as Suleiman and Yunwa Suleiman, were abducted.

In a related operation, police operatives arrested one Musa Muhammad at Takware village in Shanga for unlawful possession of ammunition. Recovered from him were three rounds of live ammunition and 20 empty shells of 7.62×39mm calibre.

Adam Peaty’s ‘cruel blow’ that crushed heartbroken mum and ‘real reason’ for wedding feud

Adam Peaty’s festive wedding plans have descended into chaos as the OIympian’s mum has reportedly been banned from attending the big day. Now heartbroken relatives have spoken out

For years, devoted mum Caroline Peaty has been the biggest champion of her Olympian son Adam Peaty, cheering him on poolside every step of the way. But now, as Adam plans his lavish star-studded wedding, it appears that his loyal mother has been left out in the cold.

Next month, swimming gold medallist Adam is set to marry Holly Ramsay – the daughter of famed chef Gordon Ramsay who has made a name for herself as a glamorous influencer. Wedding planning is now well underway, but a heartbreaking family feud is casting a dark shadow over the celebrations – with mum Caroline allegedly banned from the big day altogether.

In a post shared via Instagram, 25-year-old mental health advocate Holly was all smiles in snaps taken at her plush Soho Farmhouse hen do, declaring, “My girls gave me the best weekend, my heart is so full.” Holly’s mum Tana was there to celebrate the bride, as was megastar Victoria Beckham, but her future mother-in-law was nowhere to be seen. This is despite Holly’s dad, Gordon, 59, being invited to the stag do.

The hen do ‘snub’ has seemingly shattered already-fragile family relations, with Adam’s sister Bethany now the only member of his family set to attend his festive nuptials at Bath Abbey. But what led up to the rift that has broken Caroline’s heart?

READ MORE: Real reason Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty have banned his mum from hen do

A friend close to Gordon and Tana this week told the Mail Online that the working-class Peatys “are not their cup of tea”, highlighting the differences between these two polar opposite families.

The source revealed: “The Ramsays are rich, and they like the nicer things in life because they can afford it. “On the other hand, the Peatys are far less polished. Adam has a starry new life now, and it seems he has left his family behind.”

Meanwhile, a source familiar with Holly’s glitzy hen party shed some light on Caroline’s conspicuous absence, remarking that “normal” Caroline “might have stuck out a bit”. Noting that there was a “certain ‘type'” on the invite list, they said: “She’s a normal woman, not a celebrity. You look at Holly’s Instagram and it’s all so planned, so super-glam and very, very showy. That’s not Caroline.”

While the stylish group were enjoying cocktails, Caroline was reportedly left at home to contend with grandma duties, looking after five-year-old grandson George, whom Adam shares with his artist ex-partner Eirianedd Munro.

Adam’s aunt, Louise Williams, has opened up about her sister Caroline’s hurt in an Instagram post directed at Holly, writing: “@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.

“A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law, to your hen night, yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night. You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum’s assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law.”

She continued: “I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam. You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.”

Following Louise’s shockingly frank post, Adam reportedly messaged his mother, banning her from his wedding. He is also said to have stated his intentions to disown his family in messages seen by the Daily Mail and said his mum would not see his son George or any future grandchildren ever again.

It’s understood that this rift has been brewing throughout Adam and Holly’s two-year relationship, with matters escalating in the run-up to the wedding. Caroline and her husband Mark were initially invited to the big day along with other family members, and she’d even excitedly bought a dress. However, Adam and Holly reportedly didn’t approve of her outfit choice, so they offered to buy her a new one they did like.

It’s believed Adam paid for his parents to visit Bath for a shopping trip, which unfortunately couldn’t go ahead due to the horror train stabbings in Huntingdon two weeks ago. A source claimed that, rather than rearrange the trip, “Adam went mad,” declaring that they’d “wasted his money” and he “wouldn’t be able to get a refund” This is despite the fact that he is a millionaire.

Caroline, who has a talent for crafts, offered to get involved in wedding preparations by making table setting name plates, but Adam and Holly reportedly turned down this kind offer, telling the mother of the groom that her help was “not needed”.

A source claimed: “Adam has changed so much since he’s been with Holly. She comes from a celebrity world, while his parents do not, and his ego and self-importance have grown. He’s no longer the lovely boy next door we all remember. It’s partly because Adam doesn’t feel his family is good enough for the new one he is now part of.

“Caroline is devastated by the rift and doesn’t know what she has done wrong. Adam’s relationship with his mum and dad Mark are at an all-time low, and now she’s not coming to the wedding. They feel that Adam started to grow distant from his family after he met Holly, and they started to become more serious. There is a feeling that money is an issue. His family are working class and proud – it’s a stark contrast to the Ramsay family, and some members of the family have said it feels like Adam is ashamed of them.”

It’s now believed that Adam’s sister Bethany will be the only member of his family to attend the wedding, as nobody else can afford the price of the hotel. It doesn’t appear as though Adam has stepped in to help with the costs.

Taking to Instagram, Caroline, who used to get up at 4 am to take Adam to the pool, appeared to respond to the ongoing feud with a simple yet heartbreaking post, which read: “Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is.”

Loose Women star begs husband to ‘release her’ from marriage as she addresses dilemma

Loose Women panellist Katie Piper made the admission after celebrating 10 years of marriage with her husband Richard Sutton last week

Loose Women star Katie Piper has made a candid admission about her decade-long marriage to husband Richard Sutton. Along with Denise Welch, the presenter and campaigner tackled dilemmas on love and relationships during the latest episode of the programme’s podcast, Just Between Us.

During the show, one listener asked for advice about a friend who no longer felt romantically attracted to her partner, but was reluctant to end the relationship.

Discussing the tricky situation, Katie showed empathy for the caller, Emma, suggesting she might be “drained” from constantly dishing out advice and not seeing a resolution.

Sharing her thoughts, Denise chimed in: “Em is also feeling sorry for her friend’s partner, like thinking, let him go! If you don’t love him, somebody will fancy him.”

Katie added: “Release him into the wild! There’s someone for everyone.”

The 42-year-old went on to draw a parallel with her own marriage, revealing that she and her husband, who she refers to as Ritchie, have had an uncomfortable chat about potentially falling out of love.

She explained: “I always beg Ritchie to do that. I always say, ‘Look, if you do get bored of me, do release me, because there’ll be someone else who will have a go’.”

Returning to the listener’s dilemma, Katie reflected more deeply on the importance of emotional boundaries in friendships.

“I do think there’s something to be said here about a boundary,” she continued. “Sometimes when our friends moan to us, they just want a good listener, and that is what a good friend is. Like, if you moan to me about the same thing, I’ll give you a couple of rounds and be a good listener.

“But, if you drained the life out of me and keep going on, pleading for advice you never take, I think you’re wrong as the friend for not putting that boundary in.”

She added: “I’ve had it before in the past where I’ve been too nice and realised I’d become a free therapist for some of my friends.”

Katie first met her husband in 2013, following one of the most challenging chapters of her life. At the time, she was still undergoing numerous surgeries and procedures from the horrific acid attack organised by her ex-boyfriend in 2008.

Reflecting on that period, the presenter admitted she feared her medical needs might “pause or end” their budding romance.

As part of a post shared on Instagram in 2022, she wrote: “Very early on into dating him I had to have an operation on my septum and a skin graft to my chin. It was nightmare timing and I assumed things would end [or] pause. I also had a walking stick as I’d had my top right rib removed for a cartilage graft.”

Despite her worries, Katie and Richard’s relationship only grew stronger. The couple went on to marry in 2015 and have two daughters together; Belle, 11, and Penelope, who turns eight next month.
