150 students from Gaza’s al-Aqsa University have been celebrating after becoming the first class to graduate there since the start of Israel’s genocide, during which the territory’s entire education system has come under assault.

Davina McCall shared the health news on Saturday
Presenter Davina McCall has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, spotting a lump after checks recommended by friend and fellow TV host Lorraine Kelly. Davina underwent surgery three weeks ago to remove a lump.
The TV presenter shared a video on her Instagram page on Saturday revealing the news in the hope that it “might help someone”.
McCall said she found a lump a few weeks ago which “came and went” and was driven to get it checked after seeing posters urging women to “check your breasts” while working on ITV ’s Lorraine show.
She said: “I just wanted to tell you that I have had breast cancer. I found a lump a few weeks ago, and it came and went.” She added: “So I had a biopsy. I found out it was indeed breast cancer, and I had it taken out in a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago … It was very, very small, so I got it very, very early, which is incredibly lucky, but I am so relieved to have had it removed, and to know that it hasn’t spread.”
Davina also said she had ‘dense breasts’, which is a risk factor in developing breast cancer and makes it harder to detect. Justin Stebbing, Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Anglia Ruskin University, said b reast density is a ‘significant yet often overlooked factor in breast cancer awareness, risk assessment and screening practices’
He said: ” Breast density refers to the proportions of glandular and connective tissue compared to fatty tissue in the breast, as seen on a mammogram. Simply put, dense breasts have more glandular and fibrous tissue and less fat. On a mammogram, both dense tissue and tumours appear white, making it harder to detect abnormalities in women with dense breasts.

“This masking effect can lead to cancers being missed during routine screening, which is why breast density is not just a risk factor for developing breast cancer, but also for having it go undetected until it is more advanced.”
Professor Stebbing said women with dense breasts face a higher risk of developing breast cancer compared to women with less dense, fattier breasts. He added: “A major study involving more than 33,000 women found that those with dense breasts were nearly twice as likely to develop breast cancer than those with low breast density.”
The increased risk is seen across both pre-menopausal younger women and post-menopausal older women, although the proportion of women. W omen with the lowest breast density have about a 6% lifetime risk of developing breast cancer after age 50, while those with the highest density face a risk closer to 15%.
While mammograms can detect nine out of ten cancers in women with mostly fatty breasts, the sensitivity drops to about seven out of ten in women with extremely dense breasts.
This means that tumours can be missed . Professor Stebbing told The Conversation : ” Breast density is now recognised as one of the most important risk factors for breast cancer, even as much as family history or other commonly discussed risk factors.”
About 40% of women fall into the higher density categories, and dense breasts are common in younger women, those taking hormone replacement therapy, and those with certain genetic backgrounds and ethnicities. Breast density can also be influenced by lifestyle and hormonal factors, and it tends to decrease with age and higher body mass index and obesity.
A recent UK survey showed that most women aren’t aware of their breast density. In the US, new regulations require that all women undergoing mammography be notified if they have dense breasts.
Professor Stebbing said: “It is important to remember that the majority of women with dense breasts will not develop breast cancer. Breast density is just one factor among many, and decisions about screening and risk reduction should be made on an individual basis.

“For women with dense breasts, discussing options for supplemental screening with their doctor is recommended.”

Chris Brown reportedly racked up a huge alcohol bill during a night out in London with his entourage last month.
The rapper, who made a surprise appearance at a court hearing on October 24 ahead of his trial for an alleged nightclub attack, enjoyed a night out at the Selene club in the capital on October 10, it is believed. Days later, the nightclub posted the bill on social media, amounting to a massive £160,240.50.
The bill shared online included nine bottles of Dom Perignon, costing £750 each, as well as nine bottles of Belvedere, priced at £500 each. It also showed that the group of 15 had purchased a £5,000 Hennessy Paradis, five £2,900 Louis Roederer Cristal Magnums and three Clase Azul Reposados, costing £1,200 each.

In addition to the alcoholic beverages, two cases of Red Bull and three pizzas were also ordered, according to the bill. While the club didn’t say who had racked up the huge bill, some of those who partied with Chris, including models and other rappers, said he paid for it.
A source told The Sun: “Chris lives life in the fast lane and thinks nothing of splashing out on the best there is.” During his latest court hearing on October 28, a judge established that the singer could return to the United States as he awaits trial for an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023.
Judge Tony Baumgartner granted the change to the American musician’s bail conditions at Southwark Crown Court in London. Heidi Stonecliffe KC, prosecuting, said the bail conditions remain “very stringent” and “numerous”. The £5 million security fee that Brown was previously ordered to pay to the court remains in place, which is a financial guarantee to ensure a defendant returns to court and may be forfeited if they breach bail conditions.
Brown has pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm to Abraham Diaw at the Tape venue, a private members’ club in Hanover Square, Mayfair, on February 19 2023. He has also denied having an offensive weapon – a bottle – in a public place, as well as attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
His co-defendant, US national Omololu Akinlolu, 39, has also denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Brown’s previous bail conditions allowed him to continue with his scheduled international tour.
He had to live at a specific address known to the court and was not allowed to visit the nightclub, or contact Mr Diaw or apply for international travel documents. Granting both defendants permission to return to the US, Judge Baumgartner said: “You will have to come back to the United Kingdom when you are required to do so.”
He reminded them that failure to attend court dates when required could jeopardise the securities. There were more than a dozen people in the public gallery and the defendants spoke only to confirm their identities and that they understood the new conditions.

They will next appear at the same court on January 28. A trial is scheduled to start on October 26, 2026.

Middlesbrough have granted boss Rob Edwards permission to speak to Premier League club Wolves.
Boro say they are “disappointed” after Edwards, 42, expressed his interest in the Wolves job despite only joining the club in June.
The club added they have agreed a compensation deal with the Black Country club, subject to completion of the relevant paperwork.
Edwards was stood down from Saturday’s game against Birmingham City amid Wolves’ interest, with first-team coaches Adi Viveash and Harry Watling, and academy manager Craig Liddle in charge.
Wolves had an approach to speak to Edwards rejected by Boro on Thursday and he was locked in talks with members of the Championship club’s hierarchy on Friday.
Edwards did not hold his regular pre-game news conference or oversee the team’s final training session before the game with Birmingham.
The former defender signed a three-year contract to succeed Michael Carrick as Boro manager less than five months ago.
Sources close to the situation say Edwards was willing to complete all the duties he has been removed from, with Boro taking the decisions regarding Friday’s training session and news conference and Saturday’s match.
They are believed to have been angered by Wolves’ approach and Edwards’ openness to taking the job.
It is understood Edwards views the Wolves job as his dream role, having made more than 100 appearances for the Molineux side between 2004 and 2008.
He grew up in nearby Telford and still has family in the area, though the logistics of any move to Wolves are not said to be a key factor.
Former Coventry and Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin said Middlesbrough fans should not be surprised Edwards has pushed to leave so soon after joining.
“It happens in football all the time. We speak about loyalty – what loyalty? [You will move] if a job comes up that’s going to work for you as an individual, financially, for your family,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

Wolves sacked Vitor Pereira on Sunday after a 10-game winless start to the season that leaves them four points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League.
After Pereira was dismissed, BBC Sport reported former Luton manager Edwards was among the leading contenders to replace the 57-year-old Portuguese, alongside former boss Gary O’Neil.
Wolves held talks with O’Neil but the 42-year-old withdrew from the running on Monday, with Edwards emerging as the preferred choice.
Edwards’ early coaching career included spells at non-league Telford and England Under-16s.
He became head coach of Forest Green Rovers in 2021 before taking over at Championship side Watford the following year, but was sacked only 11 matches into his tenure.
The former Wales international replaced Nathan Jones as Luton boss in November 2022 and in his first season in charge led the club to the Premier League for the first time, although they had previously enjoyed spells in the English top flight before it was renamed.
India claimed a 2-1 win in their T20 series against Australia after the fifth and final match in Brisbane was washed out.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat, openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill steered India to 52-0 after 4.5 overs before a thunderstorm forced the players from the field.
Though the storm moved on, heavy rain persisted and the umpires decided no further play was possible.
It is the second match of the series to be washed out after the opener in Canberra on 29 October.
Australia won the second game in Melbourne, but victories in Hobart and the Gold Coast secured the series for the tourists.
Two brothers have been killed in an Israeli air raid on a vehicle between the southeastern Lebanese towns of Ain Ata and Shebaa, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency, in the latest flagrant violation of a one-year-old ceasefire.
In a separate attack on Saturday, an Israeli drone struck a car near Salah Ghandour Hospital in the southern town of Bint Jbeil, injuring seven people, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health Affairs said. Two missiles struck the vehicle in the densely populated area.

Another Israeli drone attack, the third strike of the day, later hit a car in the Baraachit area, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.
A photo shared by the agency showed smoke rising over blazing wreckage on a road following the attack, which it reported caused an unknown number of casualties.
Israel’s military claimed the attacks were aimed at Hezbollah targets, without providing evidence.
Despite the November 2024 truce, Israel has continued near-daily attacks on its northern neighbour while maintaining forces in areas around the south.
Hezbollah maintains that it remains committed to the truce but insists it will not disarm while Israel occupies Lebanese territory and continues its attacks.
The European Union condemned recent Israeli strikes in a strong statement on Saturday and called for immediate adherence to the ceasefire.
“The EU calls on Israel to cease all actions that violate resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement reached a year ago in November 2024,” EU foreign affairs spokesman Anouar El Anouni said. He urged Hezbollah and other Lebanese groups to “refrain from any measures or responses that could further inflame the situation”.
The Lebanese army accused Israel of trying to “undermine Lebanon’s stability” and obstruct the full deployment of Lebanese forces in accordance with the ceasefire.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the recent spate of attacks, describing them as a “flagrant breach” of international law, while Iran denounced them as “savage” and urged the global community to intervene.
Israeli attacks threaten civilians
On Thursday, at least one person was killed and nine injured in a series of Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon.
The United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, said Israel’s attacks threaten civilians and undermine efforts by the Lebanese military to assert control over “unauthorised weapons and infrastructure” in southern Lebanon, a likely reference to Hezbollah.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, warned last week that Israel could intensify operations in Lebanon.
Defence Minister Israel Katz echoed the threat, saying, “Maximum enforcement will continue and even intensify – we will not allow any threat to the residents of the north.”
Aoun has condemned Israel for ramping up its attacks after he signalled willingness to discuss de-escalation. The Lebanese government, under heavy pressure from the United States, has ordered the army to draft a plan to disarm Hezbollah – a move the group condemned as “hasty” and dangerous.
Last week, Aoun instructed the armed forces to confront any further Israeli incursion in the country’s south after Israeli forces crossed their shared border and killed a municipal worker during an overnight raid.
Since the ceasefire, Israel has maintained troops in five areas in southern Lebanon and carried out regular attacks, which it claims target Hezbollah positions.
The situation remains volatile nearly a year after Israel assassinated Hezbollah’s longtime leader Hassan Nasrallah in September 2024, decimating much of the group’s senior leadership.
