India have claimed a 2-1 win in the five-match T20 series against Australia after the final match was abandoned due to rain after just 4.5 overs in Brisbane.
After losing the toss and being sent in to bat on Saturday, India’s openers Abhishek Sharma (23) and Shubman Gill (29) took the score to 52 for no loss before a thunderstorm swept across the Gabba cricket ground, forcing the players from the field.
Gill took the early initiative and pummelled six fours in his 29 not out. Abhishek was dropped by Glenn Maxwell and Ben Dwarshuis on his way to an unbeaten 23.
The sellout crowd at the Gabba hung around optimistically, waiting for play to resume, but the stormy weather persisted, and the match was abandoned some two and a half hours after it started.

The opening match in the series in Canberra was also washed out before Australia won the second in Melbourne by four wickets on the back of the bowling of paceman Josh Hazlewood.
Australia withdrew Hazlewood and some other players named in the Ashes squad so they could prepare to face England with the red ball, and India won the third T20 by five wickets in Hobart and the fourth on the Gold Coast by 48 runs.
Abhishek was named Player of the Series for his 163 runs at an average of 40.75.
“The way everybody chipped in in every game and we came back from being one match down, I think credit goes to all the boys; a complete team effort,” India captain Suryakumar Yadav said.
India, who top the ICC rankings in the shortest format, will head home with confidence and plenty of player options, hoping to defend their T20 World Cup title on home soil early next year.
“I thought all in all it was a good series, two teams really going at it,” said Australia captain Mitch Marsh.

Davina McCall has revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks ago, just one year on from her brain tumour ordeal.
The TV star took to Instagram today to share that she’d found a lump in her breast. Luckily, the disease had been caught ‘very very early’ and she has undergone successful surgery to have it removed.
Her shock diagnosis comes just 12 months on from undergoin brain surgery on a rare benign brain tumour in November 2024. The tumour was 14mm in size. Speaking candidly to her fans, the 58-year-old said that she first found the lump in her breast while on set of the Masked Singer. A sign in the toilets at the Lorraine studio then encouraged her to get it checked out.
This isn’t the first time Davina has opened up to fans about her health struggles over the years. The TV legend, who is well known for her commitment to living an active lifestyle, is also an outspoken voice on women’s health issues, with her own struggles with the menopause prompting her to take action.
She’s also spoken openly about her dark struggles with drugs, which began when she was only 14 years old. Here we take a look at Davina’s health struggles as she bravely opens up about her latest diagnosis to raise awareness.
Shock cancer diagosis
Opening up to her followers about her breast cancer diagnosis, Davina said on Saturday: “I just wanted to tell you I have had breast cancer, I found a lump a few weeks ago and it came and went”.
“But then when I was filming the Masked Singer the show Lorraine, put signs on the back of their toilet doors saying ‘check your breasts’ and every time I went for a wee I did that, and it was still there. So I underwent a biopsy and it was indeed breast cancer and I had it taken out in a lumpectomy nearly three weeks weeks ago.”
The star confirmed that the disease had been caught early and it had successfully been removed in surgery.
‘Blindsided’ by brain tumour
In an emotional video last year, gym buff Davina admitted she’d been ‘blindsided’ by her brain tumour diagnosis, given how healthy she believed herself to be. Confessing that she had assumed she’d ‘ace’ the scan, Davina shared: “I was offered a health scan which I thought i was going to ace but it turned out I had benign brain tumour, which is very rare, three in a million.”
Although she was thankfully found to be at no immediate risk, Davina revealed that doctors had feared the tumour could grow and cause complications, and so made the decision to operate. Clarifying that the tumour is ‘very rare’, Davina also asked followers to pray for her, continuing: “I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, I saw a few neurosurgeons, had quite a lot of opinions and realised I needed to take it out. It’s quite big, it’s 14mm wide and it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad. I’m having it removed. Say a prayer for me. I’m in good spirits.”
Davina shared that she would need to stay in hospital for nine days before being allowed to return home to continue her recovery. As Davina continued her recuperation period, her boyfriend Michael Douglas took over her social media channels, where he reassured fans that although the popular presenter was in ‘great shape’ she would remain ‘off grid’ for now.
Award winning hair stylist Michael, who has been in a relationship with Davina since 2019, said: “Hey everyone. Michael here. @davinamccall will be ‘off grid’ for a bit while she recovers from this brain operation. She is in great shape and in very good hands.”
As explained on the NHS website: “A benign (non-cancerous) brain tumour is a mass of cells that grows relatively slowly in the brain. Non-cancerous brain tumours tend to stay in one place and do not spread. It will not usually come back if all of the tumour can be safely removed during surgery. If the tumour cannot be completely removed, there’s a risk it could grow back. In this case it’ll be closely monitored using scans or treated with radiotherapy.”
Dark drug addiction
Davina is now known for her active, health conscious lifestyle – which she adopted in her 30s after welcoming her children. However, her teenage years and 20s were marred by a dark drug addiction, which began at the age of just 14 when she did cocaine with her sister.
A year later, she did cocaine again, this time with her French mother Florence, a woman Davina recalls as being a ‘chaotic’ and ‘party central’ alcoholic in a 2023 interview with The Times. During a 2023 episode of the Diary of a CEO podcast, Davina, who would take cannabis with Florence when she was just 12, told host Steven Bartlett that she’d also used heroin by her 16th birthday.
A turning point came when Davina was 24, when her friend Sarah issued a stern ultimatum on the way to a Santana concert. Davina told podcast listeners: “My best friend said she was going to take me to Santana…she got me into her car. And I got in the car and she shut the doors and she said, ‘I’m actually not going to take you to Santana. I need to tell you some things’. She said, ‘I know that you’ve been lying to me’. Davina confessed: “I had just come off the back of a 24 hour cocaine bender which is what made me realise heroin wasn’t my problem, all drugs were my problem.”
She continued: “My friend said, ‘We all know you been lying to us, all your friends, and you are the topic of conversation at every dinner party I go to.’” The shame starts piling on. I started to feel a little bit, ‘well f*** you’ to her. This is virtually my only friend I’ve got left’.”
Despite her initial anger, which saw Davina slam the door and burst into tears, the tough love message sunk in and the future TV star began to seek help. However, things nearly could have been very different. “I was a mess. You name it, I took it. Cocaine, ecstasy and heroin,” she told The Mirror.
Tragedy nearly struck Davina after she accidentally overdose while trying to escape her ‘dark’ reality. “Drugs took me to a very, very, very dark place and, one night, I overdosed,” she admitted. “It was very frightening as it was a very gradual overdose. I’d had a cocktail of drugs, because I didn’t want to feel normal. I was constantly trying to escape myself – I was like a piece of fruit rotting from the inside.”
She went on to reflect: “When you hate yourself so much, you think you are worthless. Someone would smile at me and I wouldn’t understand why as I wasn’t worth anything. I had to try and love myself but I didn’t even like myself, so it was a big leap.”
As she was ‘high-functioning’, right up until her argument with Sarah, Davina had believed she was getting away with her drug use. She told This Morning in 2016: “I always wore make-up, I had a job, I didn’t steal. I wasn’t like your average street junkie,””Everyone is different, but for me, it was when my friend said, ‘Everyone is talking about you and what a mess you are,’ that changed things. I thought I was fully functioning. But I wasn’t. My cover was blown.”
Davina finally got clean at the age of 25 with the help of her then boyfriend and music legend Eric Clapton, who supported her as she attended meetings at Narcotics Anonymous (NA). She went on to land a life-changing presenting gig with MTV in 1992 and the rest, as they say, is history. Davina asserted: “And because I got clean I got the job I’d dreamed of and that changed my life forever.”
Menopause heartache
Women’s health advocate Davina has been very open about the mental and physical difficulties she experienced during the menopause, which she claims made her feel as though she’d ‘lost three years’ of her life. During her keynote speech at the CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition in 2023, ‘accidental activist’ Davina revealed that she’d ended up experiencing a number of symptoms that affected her work – including short-term memory loss.
Admitting that she had feared she’d ‘never work again’, Davina told attendees: “You don’t want to make a fuss because you’re embarrassed and you think it’s ageing. You feel like perhaps an older stateswoman in the business will not be valued and that the menopause will be ageing.
“So you don’t tell people that you’re struggling. And then, you think you’re in fear of your job, but then you don’t get any support. And then the worst thing happens: you really do feel like you can’t do it anymore and then you leave.”
Davina helped raise some much-needed awareness about the menopause in her acclaimed 2021 documentary, Sex, Myths and the Menopause, which saw the Big Brother legend discuss her personal menopause journey, which saw her deal with hot flushes alongside depression and mental fog. She’s since become one of the most prominent voices on the topic, urging for better treatment of women in midlife, whether that be in the workplace or in healthcare.
In an interview with Hello! magazine last month, Davina also spoke of the emotional toll menopause had taken on her – confessing that she felt a sense of grief knowing she wouldn’t be able to have any more biological children.
Davina, who began experiencing menopause symptoms at the age of 43, told the publication: “The menopause reframes your whole life. I remember grieving at the beginning of perimenopause, feeling that I didn’t want any more kids but that I wasn’t ready to not be able to have any more. I felt awful for a couple of years. Then, when I got my hormones more balanced, I felt more in control. I hit 50 and realised that that was it – no more periods – and it was like beginning again.”
Married at First Sight UK star Ella Morgan has spoken out about what Strictly Come Dancing has failed to do in over twenty years of its time on the BBC, as the show is rocked by another scandal

As Strictly Come Dancing is rocked by yet another scandal, one TV star has slammed the show for a massive failure to do one important thing in its 21 year history.
Married at First Sight UK star Ella Morgan made history as the first trans bride to be on the show. As such, though the show is eleven years younger than Strictly Come Dancing, which began in 2004, it has done what Strictly has not – included trans representation.
Talking to Mirror ahead of Trans Awareness Week, Ella explained that while she loved seeing La Voix compete on the show in drag, she would like to see a trans person get the opportunity as well. “I love having La Voix on there, she’s an amazing drag queen, but it would be nice if after 21 years we could have trans representation on that show.”

She explained that the show is doing amazing things for showing diversity among its contestants, but that it needed to start doing the same for the trans community too.
“It’s not to push a narrative,” she added. “There are loads of children with Downs Syndrome that have someone to look up to through Ellie Goldstein. Trans children deserve that too.
“We don’t go on these shows to constantly talk about the trans narrative, we just simply want to show that we are there. We exist, just like everyone else who gets the opportunity to be on these shows.”
This comes as the show is rocked by another scandal. Strictly has been hit by many scandals in recent years, including some regarding the show’s famous ‘curse’. The Strictly curse refers to a situation where a celeb and their pro dance partner start a relationship, causing the break-up of one or both of their prior relationships.
It was revealed recently that there is a video of a married celeb kissing his pro dancer whilst backstage. The video was supposedly taken by someone working on the show and saw the pro sit on her celeb partner’s lap before the two kissed.
Reports have claimed the release of the clip could implode a long-standing marriage and cast a shadow over the show. It has also been called a “PR nightmare” by some.
There have also been multiple reports of misconduct allegations over the past few seasons of Strictly, resulting in axings. Back in 2023, professional dancer Giovanni Pernice received the boot following claims made by his celebrity partner, Amanda Abbington, which he denied, though some of the less serious claims were upheld in an investigation. Graziano di Prima left the same year after Zara McDermott claimed he “hit, spat at and kicked” her.

Strictly is currently midway through its 2025 series. While La Voix continues on the show, Ellie Goldstein was voted off in week six, after finding herself in the dance off against Balvinder Sopal.
Elsewhere in the interview, Ella told us she felt there wasn’t nearly enough trans representation on TV in general. While she loved Zelah Glasson’s run on Big Brother, she was “a bit sad that there’s no one trans on Celebrity Traitors”.
England goalkeeper Mary Earps faced backlash this week over negative comments made about former teammates. In response, two time Euro-winning defender Lucy Bronze says that male footballers would not be subject to such forensic scrutiny as women

Lioness Lucy Bronze has defended ex-England goalie Mary Earps over criticism she has received for making negative comments about former teammates in her explosive new book.
Paris Saint-German goalie Earps spoke out about goalkeeper Hannah Hampton and team coach Sarina Wiegman in her autobiography All In, saying Wiegman was rewarding “bad behaviour” by reintegrating Hampton into the Lionesses squad in 2023. .
But right-back Bronze, 34, says male footballers would not be subject to such forensic scrutiny, telling The Mirror: “Female players are constantly under a magnifying glass. In a football team you have a group of 20-30 players – there’s no way everyone will think the same things. There are different personalities – and there is high pressure.

“Men are solely judged on their ability and their lifestyle to a certain extent, but only if it’s a huge headline. Generally, for most of the popular female footballers, there’s a constant lens on what we’re doing – on and off the pitch.”
Manchester-based Lucy, who plays for Chelsea and England, won the UEFA Women’s Champions League five times – three times with Lyon and twice with Barcelona. She is rumoured to be dating Ona Batlle, the Spanish full-back.
Open about her 2021 diagnosis of ADHD and autism, she says of growing up: “I struggled to make friends. I was hyperfocused as a child and I always felt different to others.
“There were parts of my younger life where I was teased and bullied at school, for being a tomboy too. It was hard.
“Sport was my way of connecting with people when I couldn’t otherwise. That environment gave me somewhere I could be competitive and be obsessed with something. It gave me a safe space.”
Showing true grit, Bronze – who has twice been in the Euro-winning side – played the entire 2025 tournament with a fractured tibia.
She says: “It’s the first time maybe anyone has been able to prove that they’ll actually do anything to play for England. People may say that ‘they’d play with a broken leg’, but I’ve actually done it.”
She has her childhood to thank for her staying power.
“My first home was a one bed, a little flat above a corner shop: mum, dad, my brother and me. We never had a lot of money, we made the most of what we’d got,” she says.
This week Bronze made history by being named in the Fifpro Women’s World XI – a global football award decided entirely by professional players – for a record eighth time.
But she still has one major ambition, adding: “Winning the World Cup has been at the top of my bucket list ever since I put on an England shirt. I’ve managed to do everything else apart from that.
“Before we won the Euros, I said I’d trade every single trophy I’d won in my life to win one thing for England. Obviously, we’ve won two Euros now… well I’d trade those two Euros for a World Cup.
“The men’s England shirt has a star above it because of 1966, when the men won. In 2019 we had our own women’s shirt designed for the first time, and the star went missing – I want that star back.”

Davina McCall has revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks prior – and has undergone surgery to remove it. The 58-year-old took to social media today to share that the disease had been caught “very, very early” after she found a lump in her breast.
Speaking in a video to fans, Davina said that she discovered a lump in her breast on the set of ITV’s The Masked Singer after being encouraged to check by a sign in the toilets at Lorraine’s studio. “I just wanted to tell you I have had breast cancer, I found a lump a few weeks ago and it came and went,” she said.
“One morning I saw it in the mirror and I thought, ‘I’m going to get that looked at.’ So I had a biopsy and found out it was indeed breast cancer,” she added. “I had it taken out in a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago and the margins, they take out a little bit extra, they check the margins and the margins are clear.
Davina has revealed that an operation has successfully removed the cancer and that she’ll be undergoing radiotherapy as “kind of an insurance policy” ( Instagram/davinamccall)
“It was very, very small so I got it very, very early which is incredibly lucky. But I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it hasn’t spread.
“My lymph nodes were clear, I didn’t have any removed and all I’m going to do now is have five days of radiotherapy in January as an insurance policy. Then I am on my journey to stop it from ever coming back.”
Davina went on to thank everybody at the Royal Marsden hospital who treated her as well as her “brilliant kids”. She continued: “An extra special thanks to Michael – it’s been a lot. I was very angry when I found out but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now.
“I think my message is – get checked if you’re worried, check yourself regularly. If you are due a mammogram then get it done and I have dense breasts and I had a mammogram in August. I was postponing the ultrasound, I just couldn’t find time to do it – don’t do that.
“Get the ultrasound and thanks for watching. I’m sending all a massive hug.”
The ex Big Brother host’s famous friends shared supportive messages in the comment section, with DJ Fat Tony posting a row of hearts before writing: “I LOVE YOU X.” Meanwhile, writer Eliza Day wrote: “I love you so much.”
Amanda Holden commented: “Sending you so much love.” Gabby Logan added: “Sending you loads of love.”
Davina’s health setback almost a year after the TV star was diagnosed with a rare benign brain tumour which required neurosurgery. The surgery on the colloid cyst proved to be successful and recent scans showed no sign of recurrence.

Celebrity Traitors came to an end on Thursday night which saw comedian Alan Carr win the first ever celebrity version of the hit series, however Joe Marler fell at the last hurdle
Celebrity Traitors star Joe Marler has announced he is taking on a new project while also taking a swipe at Nick Mohammed. The former rugby player took to his TikTok page to share a funny video while informing his fans about his next job.
Posting to social media, Joe filmed himself as he received a phone call – however he wasn’t best pleased with who was on the caller ID. It said Nick Mohammad, who betrayed him at the final roundtable by banishing him.
As he read his phone, Joe said: “Nick Mohammad? Nah,” before throwing his phone aside. The logo for his new show Joe Marler Will See You Now then flashed up on the screen.

Joe and Nick formed quite a friendship on Celebrity Traitors as they were both Faithfuls. However, the friendship didn’t end too smoothly as in the final episode, Nick then ended up voting Joe as a Traitor.
Joe was devastated by his friend’s move and has been joking since that they fell out over it. Marler was left seething as a last-minute betrayal saw Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga vote him out, leaving Alan Carr to claim the entire prize pot for himself.
Alan was one of the three Traitors alongside Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross. Jonathan was voted out by the Faithfuls earlier in the series but Cat managed to make it to the final.
However, Joe can consider himself one of the show’s real winners as his soaring popularity looks set to open more doors for him following his retirement from rugby.
The 35-year-old previously presented the podcast Joe Marler’s Things People Do, but revealed last month he was leaving the show after five years.
Now, however, he is set to make a swift comeback to podcasting, with his new project unveiled just moments after Thursday night’s finale aired.
Marler has been confirmed as the presenter of new video podcast, Joe Marler Will See You Now, which will see the former Harlequins forward “reimagined as an entirely unqualified yet oddly persuasive pseudo-psychologist” who will grill celebrity guests with a series of increasingly probing questions and bespoke personality tests.
The podcast will launch on Thursday, November 13, and will be available to listen to on BBC Sounds. It is produced by Folding Pocket, the same label that produces The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked.

Marler also shared a post on Instagram about his new show just minutes after the Celebrity Traitors finale ended. Announcing the project, he wrote: “I am really excited to be launching a new podcast with a twist!
“Think Good Will Hunting meets The Goonies. I’ve always loved asking questions and learning new things. This new show lets me do it in the most surreal, unpredictable way. I can’t wait for people to see just how ridiculous, and surprisingly revealing, it’s going to be.”
