BBC Strictly Come Dancing star says they ‘should bring back the robbed’

A former Strictly Come Dancing contestant has stated that they want to return to the BBC program.

Anita Rani, the Countryfile star and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, has confessed she’ll “never get over” her time on the dance show. The 48 year old telly favourite took part in the BBC competition a decade ago, narrowly missing out on the final by just two weeks.

During her time on the show, Jay McGuiness and his partner Aliona Vilani won the coveted Glitterball Trophy, where she worked with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko.

Soap stars Georgia May Foote of Coronation Street and EastEnders’ Kellie Bright were the runners-up that year. However, Anita is still convinced she was “robbed” of a place in the final alongside Aliona.

She shared a message to The Sun’s TV magazine that she wanted to do it again and that they should bring back “the robbed”! I should have reached the final, but I’ll never get over it.

During the semi-final, Anita found herself in the dreaded dance-off against BBC presenter Katie Derham. Despite giving it her all, it was Katie and her partner Anton Du Beke who progressed to the grand finale, reports Wales Online.

Anita admitted to turning down reality TV shows like Strictly but has since changed her mind to say “yes” if the “offer arises.” Since then, she has appeared on popular programs like Blankety Blank, The Chase, and Celebrity Gogglebox.

If the BBC decides to produce a second series, she even made hints that she might consider joining the Celebrity Traitors cast. In the meantime, Anita and her father, Bal, are getting ready to make their celebrity appearance on Race Across the World.

She added: “I used to say no to other reality shows, but now I’m like: ‘If an offer arises, why not?’ The Traitors, I’m A Celeb… But I’ll tell you what me and Dad want to do next – Antiques Road Trip. Let’s put that out there!”.

Anita acknowledged prior to participating in the travel program that she wanted her father to have “an adventure.”

She told the BBC, “We get on, he makes me laugh, and dad is the one I call if I ever need advice making a decision.”

I also want my father to have the knowledge. My dad has never had an adventure before, so it’s about him. Although I believe we are competitive, I believe we are just really eager to have an amazing experience and give it our best shot.

Following the confirmation of her new romance with partner Alex Lavery, the Woman’s Hour presenter reveals that she is currently in a “new era.”

Two years after her separation from Bhupi Rehal’s partner, she received this news. Before their marriage was ended, the former couple had been married for 14 years.

She told Love Sunday Magazine that “life is good, I’m in a good place” after their breakup. My own desires and needs are the center of my attention.

Oyo Govt Donates Four Operational Vehicles To Ibadan Airport

The Oyo State Government has given four operational vehicles to the airport’s management ahead of the opening of the upgraded Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan.

Bimbo Adekanmbi, the chairman of the committee that oversees airport upgrades, presented the vehicles to Seyi Makinde, the governor.

Adekanmbi, who spoke during the presentation, claimed that the airport needed numerous facilities to make it fully operational as an international airport. The state also stated that it had decided to donate the vehicles because it could not rely on the Federal Government or FAAN alone.

He continued, “This is a donation made by the governor for the Oyo State government.”

“As you may be aware, we are upgrading the airport. Additionally, there are numerous things that need to be funded for an airport to be fully operational, and we can’t wait for the Federal Government to do so. Therefore, the governor has given these vehicles because he is overseeing this upgrade.

The FAAN Aviation Security Department will be the first vehicle. The Airport Command of the Nigerian Police Force is the second one. The Department of Airport Operations is the subject of the third one. The Nigerian Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is the recipient of the final one.

You can tell from the photos that these airport agencies have been carefully chosen. Each one is dedicated to a particular airport operation. Additionally, these vehicles are only to enhance the upgraded airport.

The government is giving this gift to show its commitment, which has been demonstrated numerous times, and its concern that this airport, which has a wide-bodied A330 aircraft and is named after the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, lives up to its name. Everything is now unified, then.

Adekanmbi noted that the airport’s runway is fully operational and ready for local flights, while the international terminal is about 35% operational and should be ready by 2026.

“The runway is finished,” the statement read. The airport is operational now, and we are prepared for any scheduled local flights. By September 2026, the contractors will have completed the roughly 35 percent of the international terminal. Then begin all international flights. The airport is currently operationally ready for local flights, so the governor decided to donate these vehicles at this time to ensure there is no operational gap.

The government will assume a lot of responsibility for the maintenance of these vehicles because the Oyo State Government is overseeing the upgrade if we want it to function according to the design. The vehicles are anticipated to be used solely for this purpose. AFSEC, for instance, is concerned with aviation security. To enhance security, safeguard assets, and improve airport life, police command is intended for airport security. As the name suggests, operations are intended to enhance the activities at the airport, of course. Therefore, these vehicles are specific, focused, and designed for specific tasks.

“You see, anybody could fly right away. It might be next week, it might be Monday, or it might be Tuesday. You are aware that we are in a very advanced stage. The equipment is ready. You’re aware, but there are many regulators when it comes to aviation security, passenger security, and aircraft security, as you may well know. Eight of them are there. NAMA, the NCAA, NIMET, FAAN, and a number of other organizations. And each of those organizations will have specific areas where they would like to see the entire system operational. But we followed their instructions, Adekanmbi continued.

Governor Makinde was applauded by Mr. Oluwagbenga Afuwape, the manager of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, on behalf of Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, the Managing Director of FAAN, in his remarks.

Afuwape said the donation demonstrated that the governor is truly committed to improving the state’s economy through the upgraded airport, noting that the governor has done well for the airport.

The vehicles arrived at the right time, according to Mr. Famosinpe Gbenga, the manager of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAM) at the airport, while lauding Makinde for his gesture.

He assured the governor that the organizations would not rely on their own oars, stating that the donation of the vehicles would improve their capacity to function.

The donation, according to Mr. Victor Adeya, the airport’s director of security, was a defining moment for the FAAN and the Oyo State government partnership.

With the team at the bottom of serie A, Patrick Vieira has agreed to step down as Genoa’s head coach.

Genoa haven’t won a league game this season under the leadership of the Arsenal legend, who took over in November 2024.

Vieira “was no longer the first team’s coach,” according to a brief club statement.

Vieira led Genoa to safety and a 13th-place finish last season, winning eight and drawing nine of his 26 games. The Italian top flight currently ranks Genoa 17th.

His only other victories this campaign have been in Serie A, where he has lost six games, including five of the previous six, in the Coppa Italia.

The club thanked the coach and his staff for their hard work and professionalism throughout their careers, according to Genoa’s statement.

Vieira won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and silverware with AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Manchester City while also winning silver in his playing career.

He participated in France’s 1998 and 2000 World Cup victories.

Vieira left in 2011 and took over as New York City manager in 2016.

He was fired in December 2020 after leading Nice to seventh in Ligue 1 in his first season there.

In 2021, Vieira led Crystal Palace to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Voters Turn Out As Niger State Conducts LG Election

In the November 1st local government elections, voting took place on Friday in all of Niger State, with reports of calm conduct and turnout in most locations despite delays in the delivery of materials at some polling stations.

Ibrahim Nma, the presiding officer at the Gidan Sarki 001 polling unit in the Bosso Central II, said the election went smoothly despite initial difficulties.

“Everything worked out as planned, and it was simple for us.” For the time being, no problem. Some voters, however, were unable to put their names on the register. One of the difficulties faced was that. Due to a delay in the collection of materials, we arrived a little late, but the voting and accreditation proceeded as planned, he said.

Voters at Kofar Dallatu Polling Unit described the election as well-organized and peaceful in Chanchaga Local Government Area. Abdullahi Masu, a voter, claimed that the voter turnout demonstrated people’s renewed trust in government and the electoral process.

He praised election officials and security personnel for keeping things orderly and calm, noting that “the peaceful atmosphere shows maturity among voters.”

Some voters, however, expressed concern about the late arrival of materials at the Majidadi 007 Polling Unit in Nasarawa C Ward.

Abbas Shehu, a voter, claimed that many people had waited in line for the election without seeing officials and that some had left before the voting period even began.

Salihu Egba, the presiding officer, responded by asking for patience and blaming logistics problems beyond their control. He stated that counting would be conducted openly in front of the electorate and that no eligible voter would be denied that privilege.

Meanwhile, the state’s commissioner of police, CP Adamu Elleman, who led monitoring teams across the state, described the election’s overall peaceful operation.

He praised the cooperation of voters and officials and said that minor issues were resolved right away.

However, CP Elleman confirmed that angry residents had set up the INEC office in Nasko, Magama Local Government Area, following reports of missing result sheets. He claimed that the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC) has been given more control over the situation and that it has been looked into.

As collation and counting continued, the Police Commissioner urged residents to remain calm and upholding the law, as well as making sure security personnel were present to ensure a transparent and credible process in each of the 25 local government areas.

Paris Fury gives intimate insight into Tyson marriage as he sends sweet message

As she proudly displayed her most recent business venture, Tyson Fury has gushed over her wife Paris, praising her support, and offering rare insights into their 17-year marriage and extended family.

Tyson Fury has gushed over his wife Paris in a rare admission. The pair, who have been together since 2008 and married for 17 years, share seven children and are known for their playful dynamic on their hit Netflix show At Home with the Furys.

Paris, 35, has now made a rare admission of her own about her boxer husband, 37, revealing how supportive he’s been of her latest business venture. Tyson sent Paris a sweet message while she was on set filming for the upcoming launch campaign of Eternal Collagen.

In a video for her upcoming campaign, Paris stated, “Tyson has been nothing but supportive. He actually sent me a message today. So, as we were talking today, and I was explaining everything, he said, “Just to let you know I’m proud of you for being a good mother, wife, and businesswoman. Keep up the excellent work.

Speaking of the touching moment, Paris adds, “I love being a mother and a wife, it’s my joy and purpose in life. But stepping into my new business era with Eternal Collagen has been so exciting and empowering. To hear Tyson say he’s proud of me means the world. I tell my children every day that they can be anything they want to be and I hope I’m showing them exactly that. I’m juggling mum’s life, our wonderful relationship, and my business ventures, including Eternal Collagen, and I feel really proud of that..”

Only their children were present as witnesses during a private ceremony in the South of France this summer, which the couple had recently renewed their wedding vows for a third time. She continued, “Tyson, I told him I wasn’t doing it this time for anyone else.”

We did it to reaffirm our love and acknowledge how significant our children are to us now. Just for us, really.

It was a far cry from their first lavish wedding back in 2008. Then, as teenage sweethearts who had met years earlier, they tied the knot in Paris’s hometown of Doncaster in front of more than 300 guests in a traditional, no-expense-spared celebration.

The couple’s previous vows have since been renewed in New York, but this time, the attention was firmly on family as the intimate ceremony took place in southern France.

Although their lives appear to be perfect, Paris has previously said that getting married to the heavyweight champion isn’t always simple.

She acknowledged that some of Tyson’s habits are “insane,” saying in an exclusive video, “Tyson loves to wake up at 6 am because he is an early bird and I cannot stick it.” He rises, cheers, claps, and lights up while doing it for me, not in the morning.

He is extremely spontaneous, she continued, “Really, really, really random things.” However, I do enjoy it on some days but not others, so there’s a 50/50 situation. Tyson’s crazy wardrobe, “she revealed,” would be the final word. Tyson believes he dresses quite nice but occasionally a little too flamboyant for me, and I like to think that I like to dress quite nice.

Venezuela, their eldest daughter, recently turned 16; Paris has also been busy planning a significant milestone. When Venezuela’s boxer boyfriend, Noah Price, proposed during the celebration, a surprising turn occurred.

* “We’re all really happy for her and Noah; they’re a great match and genuinely excited about this next chapter in her life,” Paris continued.

She’s young, yes, but we all know that’s in line with our traditions and values. We are not far along in terms of age since I got married to Tyson at age 17; therefore, we are still close.

She and Charlie Hamilton James, a wildlife documentarian, married in 2004 and together founded Halcyon Media, a production company specializing in wildlife documentaries. Halcyon River Diaries, which aired on BBC One in May 2010, was one of their productions.

The couple moved to Wyoming, USA, to support Charlie’s work with National Geographic after giving birth to three children. What was intended to be a temporary stay turned into a six-year stay where former TV star Philippa embraced life in the American wilderness.

Fred, the family’s eldest son, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016, a difficult time for the family. Philippa told The Telegraph, “His entire body became rigid. His head was slammed against the wall, and his eyes went into the back of his head.

My husband ran to get help after I tried to hold him, but I was unable to hold him. We were taken to a medical emergency room in a rush.

Thankfully, Fred recovered completely from surgery and ongoing monitoring. However, Philippa and James separated in the summer of 2020, causing her to re-enter the country with their three children.

She wished a bear would eat her because she was so devastated by the breakup of her marriage. She remarked, “My return to the UK was utterly depressing, in the middle of lockdowns.” A grizzly bear incident would have been wonderful, but south Gloucestershire’s wilds have provided no such luck.

Philippa described this time as particularly difficult because she had to balance raising her children and rebuilding her career. She promoted women who work for environmental causes with her book Wild Woman: Empowering Stories from Women Who Work in Nature, which honors conservation stories and personal journeys.
