Oleksandr Zinchenko, a left-back for Arsenal, has signed a season-long loan deal with Nottingham Forest, and Dilane Bakwa, a winger for Strasbourg, has signed a deal worth more than £30 million.

Forest had been attempting to sign Atletico Madrid’s Javi Galan, but they were unable to close the deal, so they made a quick move to sign Zinchenko from Ukraine.

Since joining Arsenal from Manchester City for around £30 million in 2022, the 28-year-old has made 91 appearances for the club. He becomes Forest’s 12th summer signing.

Ross Wilson, the chief football officer, said, “Alex’s pedigree speaks for itself. He played a significant role for Arsenal in recent years and was a significant member of the highly successful Manchester City team.

We are delighted that he completed our incoming signings this summer, and he brings valuable experience to Nottingham Forest.

“Over the summer, we have done a lot of work to create a competitive squad that is both young and old and ready to compete in all kinds of competitions.”

We are confident that Alex will make a significant impression both on and off the pitch.

To help increase Forest’s spending, Bakwa, 23, has agreed to a five-year contract.

Since joining Strasbourg from Bordeaux two years ago, the France Under-21 international has made 71 appearances.

I’m thrilled to have joined this legendary club, Bakwa said. I’m appreciative that the club and the owner gave me this opportunity.

“I didn’t hesitate once I learned there was interest,” I said, “because the ambitions of everyone here motivate me.”

Zinchenko joined Forest on deadline day as the second left-sided player to join the City of Chicago.

The 22-year-old is the fourth Botafogo player to join the club this summer under a four-year contract at the City Ground.

Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich for £37.5 million, James McAtee from Manchester City for around $ 30 million, and Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo for $ 26 million are the new signings for Forest.

After his public criticism of Forest’s transfer business, manager Nuno Espirito Santo will also speak with owner Evangelos Marinakis over the international holiday.

The Portuguese acknowledged that Marinakis’ relationship had changed while the Portuguese believed the club had moved too slowly for their goals.

Nuno, the former manager of Wolves and Tottenham, is being told that despite the information, is expected to be in charge when Forest travel to Arsenal on September 13th.

Nuno insisted that the loss would not have an impact on the discussions despite Forest’s 3-0 defeat at home against West Ham on Sunday.

Additionally, Forest has signed Brazilian side Rio Ave full-back Eric Moreira on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old moved to Ave, which is also run by Forest owner Marinakis, after making five appearances in all competitions last summer.

Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp has been signed for an initial sum of 21 million euros (£18. M) plus add-ons by Manchester United.

Lammens, 23, has a five-year contract at Old Trafford and is yet to earn a senior cap for his country.

“I’m very pleased to be playing for Manchester United.” It’s truly a dream come true,” Lammens remarked.

“The past few years have been an incredible journey, and hopefully there will be something special when it ends up here.”

Royal Antwerp won the Belgian Super Cup in 2023 with the assistance of Lammens, who has made 64 appearances for them.

In March, he was named for the first time in the Belgium national team.

Jason Wilcox, the director of football for United, stated: “Senne has great potential. She is a great young goalkeeper.”

Lammens’ arrival at Old Trafford comes as the club is working to fix glaring issues with goalkeeping.

Altay Bayindir, the country’s top player, has made errors in the Premier League, and Andre Onana, the country’s top scorer, was responsible for a goal against League Two side Grimsby last year.

Since joining the club in 2023, when United released England international Dean Henderson for free and gave David de Gea his contract at United, neither have persuaded them.

Liverpool Unveil Striker Isak After Record Deal

After a lengthy search for the Sweden international who predominated the Premier League transfer window, Liverpool finally signed Newcastle striker Alexander Isak on Monday in a record-breaking £125 million ($169 million) deal.

After being able to persuade Newcastle to accept an improved bid, Isak reportedly has signed a six-year contract with the Premier League champions.

He stated on the Liverpool website, “I feel amazing. “It’s taken a long journey to get here,” he said. However, I’m incredibly excited to be a part of this team, this club, and everything it stands for.

I’m very excited about it and am proud of it.

“I’m just happy it’s finished and that I can resume my work,” she said. I’m eager to see my teammates, the fans, and return to the scene.

In August, Newcastle turned down Arne Slot’s £110 million offer, but Isak’s resolve to force the deal through paid off as the transfer saga grew more tetchy.

Isak informed Newcastle that he wanted to leave and instead chose to spend some time practicing at Real Sociedad instead of Eddie Howe’s side.

Read more about Erik Ten Hag being sacked by Leverkusen after two League games.

He claimed he broke a promise to leave if a top club made him a suitable offer and that he would not be able to do so during Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia due to what is said to be a thigh injury.

Isak, who scored 27 goals in 42 appearances for the team overall last season, had been repeatedly urged by Howe to keep him.

With a League Cup victory over Liverpool and Isak’s goals, Newcastle finally broke its 56-year trophy drought and qualified for Champions League play.

Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade’s swoop on Saturday, however, made it possible for the Swedish international to secure his career move.

Before the Premier League’s 1800 GMT transfer deadline, the 25-year-old completed his move to Merseyside for a medical on Monday before completing his contract.

With the signing of Isak, Liverpool has spent an estimated £416 million on new players since the end of last season.

The other notable newcomers to Liverpool include: Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Giovanni Leoni.

Chelsea’s goal of $ 400 million was broken by the Reds’ spending in the previous summer window in 2023.

Before Isak’s move, the Reds had already broken their own transfer record by acquiring Leverkusen playmaker Wirtz for an initial $ 100 million.

With the signing of Enzo Fernandez for a sum of $ 107 million in 2023, Chelsea broke the previous record.

Slot will attempt to win a seventh Champions League title while also defending Liverpool’s hold on the title.

Liverpool would become the most successful team in English top-flight history, winning 21 titles if they were to win the Premier League once more this year.

Since winning three games in a row between 1982 and 1984, the Reds have not won the title in three seasons.

Slot will be under pressure to break the record-breaking title because of Isak’s position as Liverpool’s fulcrum.

With new signings Isak, Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike joining Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Federico Chiesa, the Dutchman has a wealth of forward options.

Chiesa is the only senior arrival at Liverpool during the summer of 2024 for an initial fee of £10 million, marking a significant change in policy.

Over the summer, Liverpool sold Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tyler Morton, and Ben Doak, all of whom received around £190 million.

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa has been acquired by Newcastle United for £55 million.

The initial fee for the DR Congo international, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, is £50 million plus £5 million in add-ons.

This summer, Brentford turned down two offers from the Magpies for Wissa.

Alexander Isak was sold to Liverpool for a record-breaking £125 million transfer fee, which Newcastle did in the wake of.

At St. James’ Park, Wissa will wear the number nine.

The 28-year-old confirmed in a statement on Sunday that he wanted to leave Brentford after a protracted transfer saga that lasted for a while.

The DR Congo international removed his Instagram account from any connection to the club earlier in the window.

Wissa expressed his excitement at joining one of the biggest Premier League clubs on the website.

“I’m very, very excited to sport the black and white shirt.” I have faith, I have dreams, and I will do everything I can to make them all come true. I’m eager to start.

Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, stated: “We’re delighted to have Yoane on board because we have admired him for a while.”

He “has demonstrated Premier League quality,” as evidenced by his team’s crucial work and goalscoring performance.

Yoane has pace, power, and an excellent work rate, which will both enthral our supporters and complement our play. He immediately increases our strength.

In 149 games for Brentford, Wissa added 49 goals to his 2021 tally.

Newcastle has signed him for the second time in recent days, joining them from Stuttgart for the six-year deal that also included club record signing Nick Woltemade.

Isak joins Liverpool in £125m British record deal

Alexander Isak, a striker from Newcastle United, has agreed a record-breaking fee of £125 million from Liverpool, with the Swede declaring that he “wanted to create history and win trophies” at Anfield.

According to sources in Newcastle, the deal could have add-ons worth up to £130 million.

Before signing a six-year contract with Liverpool, Sweden international Isak, 25, underwent a medical on Monday, which included an additional fee of about £416.2 million.

Isak, who will team up with the Reds in the number nine shirt, stated to the Liverpool website: “This is my career’s next move.” I’m very excited and inspired to take advantage of this opportunity.

“I want to make history,” I say. I’d like to win prizes. That serves as my primary driving force in the end.

“This is the ideal place for me to develop even more, advance my game, and support the team as well.”

Isak’s original £110 million offer was rejected in August, but Liverpool now have their first-choice target of the summer.

The lengthy saga came to an end when the Reds announced the deal at 21:30 BST, two and a half hours after the window was closed.

Following the signings of Brentford forward Yoane Wissa and Germany international striker Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart last week for a 50 million dollar, Newcastle signed both.

Newcastle’s blatant 37-word statement announcing a deal

In the Carabao Cup final in March, Isak scored for Newcastle, winning their first domestic trophy in 70 years, 2-1 over Liverpool.

He claimed he had left the club earlier this summer and had not represented them in this campaign.

Newcastle made a wry 37-word statement on the club website when it announced the deal.

Alexander Isak will be sold to Liverpool for a sizable British record transfer fee, according to the statement.

Liverpool’s busy transfer window

In 2024-2025, Liverpool, who are top of the table this year, won three of their first three matches, to claim the Premier League title.

This summer, they already broke the club transfer record by signing German attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz for an initial sum of £100 million, plus an additional £16 million in additions.

The highest transfer window spending in Premier League history has resulted in Liverpool having already completed the signings of Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Giovanni Leoni.

Only the second time an English team has spent more than $400 million in a summer, following Chelsea’s $401.2 million investment in 2023.

How the Isak move changed

Isak signed for Newcastle for £60 million from Real Sociedad in 2022, where he scored 27 goals in 42 games last season.

He assisted the Magpies’ victory in the March Carabao Cup, which earned them their fifth-place finish in the Premier League and their promotion to the Champions League.

Isak was excluded from the Magpies’ squad earlier this summer because of what the club described as a “minor thigh injury” during their pre-season tour of Asia, but it was still believed he wanted to look into a move elsewhere.

Before Liverpool’s initial attempt for him was rejected by Newcastle, he then spent time training alone at Sociedad.

Isak claimed in a statement that his relationship with Newcastle had been “broken” and that their relationship cannot continue in light of ongoing speculation about his future.

No official at the club had ever promised Alex could leave this summer, according to Newcastle.

What is the Isak fee’s position?

One of football’s biggest deals was Liverpool’s acquisition of Isak.

The previous British transfer record was Enzo Fernandez, who Chelsea paid for for a fee of $ 107 million in 2023.

The Wirtz deal could reach £116 million, while Caicedo’s move from Brighton to Chelsea in 2023 may end up costing £115 million. Moises Caicedo, Declan Rice, and Jack Grealish all moved for initial fees of £100 million.

Isak joins the Reds in third place overall in terms of initial costs.

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe’s signings at Paris St-Germain rank among the most expensive football moves. Neymar was brought in from Barcelona in 2017 for £200m by the French club. In a deal worth £165.7 million, Mbappe became a permanent player in the same year, initially on loan.

Isak’s move follows those that involve Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, but it is still ahead of those.
