Britain’s Teagn Stott and Emily Asquith will fight for World Championship gold on Sunday after winning their respective semi-finals.
Sheffield’s Stott beat Ukraine’s Danylo Zhasan 4-1 on points at the M&S Arena in Liverpool and will face Uzbekistan’s Akmaljon Isroilov in the men’s 85kg final.
Bridlington’s Emily Asquith defeated India’s Pooja Rani 4-1 on points in her semi-final and will take on Australia’s Eseta Flint in the women’s 80kg showpiece.
Liverpool’s Odel Kamara and Derby’s Chantelle Reid had to settle for bronze after losing their respective last-four bouts.
Kamara was beaten 4-1 on points by Kazakhstan’s Torekhan Sabyrkhan in the men’s 70kg division and Reid lost out by a narrow 3-2 verdict in the women’s 70kg category.
The event is the first elite-level global championships to be hosted by World Boxing, the new international federation for Olympic-style boxing.

Twenty-nine minutes. That’s all Nick Woltemade needed.
Not only to open his account for Newcastle United – but to be serenaded with his own chant after scoring on his debut against Wolves.
Woltemade went on to receive a standing ovation after the record signing came off midway through the second half of his side’s 1-0 win.
His contribution was certainly timely as it was revealed post match that fellow new striker signing Yoane Wissa is likely to be out until after the next international break in October.
It is remarkable to think Woltemade only had a handful of training sessions with his new team-mates before his first appearance.
You would not necessarily have known it as he was pushed in front of the Gallowgate End by Joelinton to take the acclaim of the crowd after the game.
“I was just here for four days now, so everything was new for me,” he told BBC Final Score. “I was putting that bit away and I was focusing on myself today.
A number nine’s goal
How Newcastle needed someone to put the ball in the back of the net.
Howe’s side had 34 shots in the opening three games of the season, but only had two goals to show for it after firing blanks against Aston Villa and Leeds United.
The Alexander Isak saga cast a shadow over the club after the Swede went on strike before completing his move to Liverpool.
Isak had already as good as left the building – training away from the rest of his team-mates – but Saturday marked the first game of this new era following his £125m switch to Anfield.
It was a little ironic, then, that there were one or two parallels between Woltemade’s debut and Isak’s first outing for the club in 2022.
Just as Isak was thrown in, at a time when Callum Wilson was sidelined, Woltemade was also handed his debut from the off after fellow new arrival Wissa suffered a knee injury.
Isak did not need long to make an impact after opening the scoring against Liverpool – of all teams – in the first half.
And Woltemade required less than half an hour to make his mark.
Woltemade may have 27 on the back of his shirt, a nod to his mother’s birthday, but the new arrival opened his account with a classic number nine’s goal.
Jacob Murphy scooped a cross into the box and Woltemade peeled away from Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou to power a header past Sam Johnstone.

Woltemade makes decisive contribution
Bullet headers were not necessarily how Woltemade made his name, though.
He may be 6ft 6in tall, but the German is not your typical target man and only scored a single header for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga last season.
“He’s an unusual player,” Howe said. “He’s very distinctive. I think the more you watch him, the more you realise how different he is to the stereotypical size that he brings.
“[He’s] very creative. We saw flashes of that today, little touches and passes that can really make a difference and open up a stubborn defensive line.”
Digging deeper, this was an afternoon when Woltemade completed 89% of his passes.
One clever dink sent Harvey Barnes in down the left but the forward was flagged offside before Murphy put the ball in the net.
Match of the Day pundit Shay Given, who made 462 appearances for the club, was among those watching on, saying he was “interested to see the positions he takes up”.
“There was a lot of talk before the game that he’s more a number 10 than a nine,” he said. “But I’m sure Eddie Howe and his staff will be saying ‘Yeah, he’s a good link-up player but with his size, you have to get the ball to him in the box’.”
Interestingly, none of Newcastle’s starters had fewer touches than Woltemade (20), but he made his presence count where it mattered most.
“A lot to improve”
Woltemade was certainly in the right place at the right time.
The new arrival may like to link play, but Howe was acutely aware that “we won’t want him to get himself out of goalscoring areas”.
And the Newcastle head coach was the first to recognise that they still have “work to do with him”.
Though Woltemade won three of his four aerial duels, physically he has “a lot to improve to get used to this level” Howe said.
But the will is there to do so.
Whereas Newcastle saw Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko and Joao Pedro opt to move elsewhere, Woltemade was determined to join the club from Stuttgart.
Woltemade did not exactly have much time to catch his breath, after jetting off for international duty, but he made it clear he “wanted to help the team and bring his qualities to the group”.
As well as settling on the field, Woltemade has quickly taken to life off it, too.
He may have had a baseball cap on but such is his size, the new arrival has been spotted in the supermarket by supporters and taking a walk down the Quayside.
Rather than being overwhelmed by the passion of the club’s support, though, Woltemade has rightly embraced it.
A popular Love Island couple are reported to have split months after leaving the ITV2 dating show together after going their separate ways at the National Television Awards

Love Island finalists Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes have reportedly confirmed their relationship is over just weeks after leaving the villa together. The duo had been attending this year’s National Television Awards, but are said to have gone their separate ways after the glitzy bash.
Prior to the event getting underway at the O2 Arena in London, the couple posed for pictures on the red carpet. They were seen with their arms wrapped around each other with smiles on their faces, but it seems all did not end well.
Instead, it’s claimed Jamie told friends Yasmin had “f***ed off” near the end of the night. And sources claim she had also been seen holding hands with The Traitors star Freddie Fraser before seemingly giving her man the slip.

According to The Sun the couple have confirmed their split. It comes after they had won the hearts of the public with what appeared to be an authentic connection.
A source told the publication that Yasmin told Freddie the pair needed to “go somewhere private, no one can see”. And it’s said Jamie had lamented Yasmin’s disappearing act.
Another partygoer at the event told the outlet: ““Yasmin and Jamie weren’t together at the party a lot at all, compared to Harry and Shakira and Cach and Toni, who were glued to each other’s sides.
“Then I saw her holding hands with Freddie and pulling him away. She said, ‘We need to go somewhere private, no one can see.’”
“I was totally shocked because I loved them on the show and they seemed like the best connection.”
The comments were a far cry from their interaction earlier in the night. Before the awards ceremony began, Yasmin told reporters the pair were “really good”.
“I mean, we get to come here, to something like this, together tonight, which is incredible,” she said. “The whole band is going to be here as well. I think we’re going to have a great time.”
Just weeks ago, Yasmin had revealed she and Jamie had not yet been intimate following their time in the Spanish villa. The ITV2 icon was heartbroken after leaving the show as her beloved cat Miaow Miaow passed away while she was filming.
And earlier last month, Yasmin said: “As I’ve spoken about her on the show, I’m sure a lot of you will know I have a cat called miaow miaow who’s been by my side for 11 years now.
“When I was filming Love Island I had a bad gut feeling something was off and when my mum and sister came into the villa I asked them and still felt like something was off.”
The star admitted she had been grieving the loss and praised Jamie for providing her with emotional support. She also revealed the pair believed there was ‘no rush’ in their romance.

“I’ve been going through grief and Jamie will just sit there when I cry on him,” Yas said to The Sun. “I’ve taken a lot of time to process my emotions, so Jamie and I haven’t been intimate yet.”
“He’s so patient. He’s never rushed that, because he knows it will happen at the right time.”
Former Love Island contestant Andrew Le Page has hinted that he has found new love with a real estate agent in the Middle East following his split from Tasha Ghouri

Love Island star Andrew Le Page has hinted he has found new love – eight months after he split from reality star girlfriend Tasha Ghouri. He has teased a new romance with a real estate agent who lives in the United Arab Emirates.
The 30-year-old TV hunk – who found fame on the ITV reality show in 2022 during the eight season of the show – shared a flirty clip of himself with a woman named Millie Cleland on social media. The stunning brunette works for the White & Co Real Estate firm in Dubai.
Over the weekend, Andrew and Millie enjoyed a romantic meal out together where they sipped wine. In a very brief clip shared on Instagram Stories, the pair clinked glasses at the Eva Beach Restaurant and Beach Club in Dubai’s Palm Islands.

Andrew flashed a winning smile while sat opposite Millie wearing a simple white vest. And the pair appeared to party into the night as they shared video clips of people dancing and singing together at the luxury venue.
The upbeat scenes come after Andrew and Love Island co-star Tasha, 27, split at the beginning of the year. He had cheered her on last autumn and winter when she took part in the 2024 season of Strictly Come Dancing.
But the romance collapsed soon after the 2024 season ended and while Tasha was on the road as part of the Strictly Live tour.
The Sun previously reported that busy schedules tore the romance apart after almost three years. A source claimed: “Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly.
“She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she’s pretty much heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman.”

The following month, the couple confirmed the relationship was over – with Andrew taking to Instagram Stories to address rumours they had split.
He wrote, alongside a selfie: “End of an era. So guys it’s been a pretty start to the year and one I didn’t expect. However life goes on and I’m doing everything in my power to say positive
“All the support has meant the world. I’ve cried more this year than I have my whole life.” He added: “Back to Guernsey now… I’ll be back.”
While Tasha wrote on Snapchat: “Hi everyone. Just on a walk. I know a lot of you are asking me a lot of questions and want to know what has been going on. I won’t be speaking on the situation – it’s a private side of my life which I’m still dealing with internally and mentally.
“It’s private for me and as much as I do want to share it with you all, one day I will, but I’m still processing everything that has happened and going on. I hope you can all understand on why I’ve not spoken out on the situation.”
For a club who have enjoyed domestic dominance in recent times and whose traditional title rivals have yet to win a league game and sit 10th in the table, Celtic fans should be relatively content with their lot.
However, sections of the Parkhead support are anything but.
A dismal transfer window despite money in the bank, no Champions League football, and now manager Brendan Rodgers calling for a “cowardly” club insider to leave.
Celtic statement leaves fans wanting answers
A decline can be traced back to the high point of the performance arc under Rodgers, away to Bayern Munich on 18 February.
The team were seconds away from a first win on German soil and on the brink of extra time in the Allianz Arena. Despite Alphonso Davies’ last-gasp, heart-breaking equaliser, it was clear Celtic had delivered on a pre-season promise of progress and respectability in the Champions League.
Fast-forward six months to the calamity of Kairat Almaty and failure to qualify for Europe’s premier competition.
A weak summer of recruitment was lambasted by fans and pundits but defended by the board in a statement last Saturday which said “we can never compromise the financial integrity of the club” and “it is important to remain disciplined in our approach”.
But Kieran Maguire, author of The Price of Football told BBC Scotland: “Celtic’s statement does seem a little bit disingenuous. Uefa rules allow clubs to spend 70% of their revenues on player wages. Celtic currently spend around 53%.
“Uefa rules also allow you to take into consideration player sale profits and add those to revenue, so Celtic have an awful lot of headroom should they chose to spend more in terms of player recruitment and retention.
“I’m a little bit confused as to the nature and the timing of the statement. It does appear to be very inconsistent with a detailed analysis of the figures.”
‘Sack the board’ no longer empty slogan
Chants of “sack the board” have reverberated around Celtic Park at various points this season, with many fans of the opinion that Rodgers has not been adequately backed.
According to the last published set of accounts, the club had £65m in the bank. Not to mention the £15m secured by the sale of Nicolas Kuhn to Como.
A meeting with chief executive Michael Nicholson and certain supporter groups was supposed to douse the flames of discontent. Celtic’s statement thereafter added a rather large dose of rocket fuel to the fire.
“The backdrop to the current anger and frustration felt by Celtic fans is an ongoing failure over a prolonged period of time both in the Champions League and in the transfer market,” said Paul-John Dykes from the A Celtic State Of Mind podcast.
“Seven months ago, Brendan Rodgers spoke about having an unswerving plan to make Celtic a seasoned club at Champions League level. The board failed to replace the quality that has since left.
SNS
With the clock ticking down on deadline day, Celtic ended up paying over £5m for Tounekti.
Adam Idah was sold despite clear assurances that the striker would be going nowhere until a suitable replacement was secured. Instead, free agent Kelechi Iheanacho was signed up after the window closed.
Asked prior to the long trip to Almaty what would get his players back to their usual levels “competition,” came the quickfire reply from Rodgers.
Not coaching, not cajoling, not training. Competition.
The manager has been asking for it since the turn of the year. The sale of Kyogo Furuhashi with no thought for a replacement is still a puzzler eight months on.
Some £30m had been spent on Idah, Arne Engels, Auston Trusty and Paulo Bernardo in the previous summer.
This time round, Rodgers wanted quality, not quantity. What he got was the return of Kieran Tierney and a decent looking forward in Benjamin Nygren along with several “club signings” that he has largely overlooked.
Tounekti, Iheanacho, Balikwisha and Marcelo Saracchi may yet prove to be worthwhile additions but arrived once the Champions League horse had bolted.
Rodgers’ presser pressure point
The latest twist in this Celtic tale came on Friday.
While being quizzed on the transfer window – which Rodgers said left him feeling “empty” – he was also questioned on a recent media report which cited an unnamed club insider claiming the Celtic boss was trying to engineer an exit.
Rodgers, whose contract runs until next summer, was blunt in his response.
“My honest take is I thought it was a cowardly action by whoever it is,” he said.
“It’s not something you’d want. Certainly my relationships with the guys, I am close with here within the board, I would struggle to understand why.
“All I’ve tried to do is drive the club forward. Was I surprised by it? Not really.”
When asked if the person who was speaking against him should resign, he added: “I don’t think there’s any doubt.”
Then came the questions about his future. On whether he’d want to stay beyond the end of the season, with the answer coming back as “100%”.
Whether that happens or not remains to be seen. Next summer seems a long way away in the here and now for Celtic.
Against the backdrop of a fan protest, a routine Premiership encounter with Kilmarnock has taken on another new dimension.

Kylie Jenner was left stunned after a night at her mum’s house led to prank wars. And she was so shocked that she chased her sister, labelling her a “little b***h” after spotting her car’s makeover.
Kylie, 28, took to social media to show the aftermath of the “attack”. She insisted “prank wars have started” as the incensed star tagged her sister Khloe Kardashian and her mum, Kris Jenner.
At the start of the clip Kylie shared on Instagram, her vehicle was seen covered in silly string and toilet paper. Giggling, Kylie says while recording the mess: “I, um, slept over at my mom’s house…”

She then runs after her older half-sister while still recording. “Was this you?,” Kylie shouts while entering the property.
Khloe then screams as she tries to run away from the Tequila brand creator. “Say something,” rages Kylie trying desperately to follow.
As Khloe continues to run, Kylie can clearly see the funny side of what’s happened as she chuckles while taping her sister’s scared reaction.

“Who did this to my car?” Kylie asked again before Khloe’s kids are seen running away laughing. Kylie then gave her followers a closer look at the chaos caused, with her Mercedes badge also covered.
Mum Kris then appears and is shocked by what she is seeing as she gasps: “What is happening? It’s so colourful.”
Khloe and her kids then pop out to scare the momager and spray the pink and red string all over her. Kris screams but quickly turns back on the youngsters to chase them.
The prank was also shared on Khloe’s Instagram Stories. She captioned the reshare: “I am the prank master!!!! I will not loose [sic]. I am training them young to be prank geniuses.”
And she also shared a snap of the kids standing behind the messed up car before uploaded a video of them in action covering it.
Kylie recently paid tribute to her pal and hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, six months after he ‘suddenly and unexpectedly’ died. The celebrity hairstylist had flown out to Paris as part of Kylie’s glam team in January for Fashion Week, but sadly died just a few weeks later.
