Following their 3-0 League Cup final defeat, Inter Miami forward Luis Suarez made an offensive spit at a member of the Seattle Sounders’ coaching staff.
Following a melee involving both sets of players that the Uruguayan had sparked, the incident occurred shortly after the full-time whistle.
Before team-mate Sergio Busquets struck the Mexico international on the chin, Suarez, 38, grabbed Sounders midfielder Obed Vargas around the neck.
After being held back by team-mate Oscar Ustari, Suarez appeared to spit in the direction of the coach after an altercation with a Sounders employee moments later.
Seattle manager Brian Schmetzer responded to the question about the melee by saying, “Unfortunately, that is going to take some of the attention away from a Seattle Sounders performance.
Their players were irritated, which caused some unfortunate things to happen on the field.
“I’m going to stop there because that shouldn’t be the story,” she said. The game’s story is different from what transpired after it.
Javier Mascherano, the coach for Inter Miami, said, “I have nothing to say because I was far away and did not understand what transpired.”
Nobody wants these kinds of actions to occur. I’m not sure what happened, but there might have been provocation.
Suarez has had a number of contentious encounters with controversy throughout his career.
After being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra, he was given an eight-game ban at Liverpool in 2011.
He also received bans for three different biting incidents while playing for Uruguay, Liverpool, and Ajax.
Olivia Attwood, the star of Loose Women, has admitted that she arrives at work with hungover and is shocked when she examines video that has been made available to the public.

Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood is busier than ever – presenting hit TV shows, making documentaries and hosting a KISS radio show every weekend. But the TV star, 34, still loves to fit in the occasional big night out, telling Mirror she’s even been known to take to the airwaves with a sore head on a Sunday afternoon.
“I am very professional and I don’t go to work hungover, apart from the radio – and I need to stop doing that,” she reveals. “Even though the radio is recorded live, there’s this weird feeling that you’re not being watched. At the time the listeners are not watching, but then they put the clips out. I’m thinking, ‘Oh, my God!’”
She continues, “When I go out, I don’t want it to end.” My friends will be saying, “We should go, please.” at 6am in Soho. I’m like, ‘ No, one more! ‘ They say, “There is nowhere to go,” and they are right.

As well as co-hosting The Sunday Roast on KISS with Pete Wicks, Olivia made her presenting debut on This Morning this summer, and a new series of Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends is about to return to our screens.
In the show, a group of unsuspecting men are brought to a luxury retreat and put through a series of challenges by their girlfriends – with a little help from Olivia. Featuring a surprise appearance from former Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts, it seems we can expect this series to reach explosive new heights.
Olivia chuckles, “They are a rowdy bunch.” Sometimes I had to exert control over them on the ground. All these people have relationship histories, which makes them stand out as being full of tension.
And there’s a twist this time. She claims that in this series, we “give the girlfriends a little bit of light.” Why are you with them if I asked them to do a soul scavenging and said, “You brought this guy here and they don’t seem to have any redeemable qualities.
Her ITV show Bad Boyfriends is returning for a second season this month(Image: ITV)
She claims that there are actually a number of people and stories. You’ll have a sister or friend who has gone through it, or you’ll relate to someone in that show. It’s “the closest you’re going to get to old-school reality,” the author says. It’s campaign and silly, and there’s drama and heart. You travel somewhere with each episode.
Nothing is also prohibited for the cameras. We make the most of raw moments. We take care of someone if they need a five-minute break. You can observe what might happen in some situations, but the majority of what happens happens is seen.
Olivia’s romantic relationship with footballer husband Bradley Dack, 31, is a little less dramatic than that of the series. Fans of her ITVBe series Olivia Marries Her Match followed the couple’s stunning wedding in 2023.

She’s the first to acknowledge that married life isn’t always so blissful, despite the dreamy wedding at London’s swanky Bulgari Hotel.
“Brad and I do have a lovely relationship, but he and I are not perfect, too. Although it’s not a perfect relationship, it’s still a good one. There is no such thing as perfect, which is the lesson we all have.
The couple’s careers have changed as a result of her being one of the hardest-working women in television. He used to play football and was always out, and now I’m the one who filmes seven days a week, and he has a lot of help from him. Because I work, I miss his football games. He replies, “You save all your nice personality for work and then you come in and say, “Where’s my dinner?”
Olivia claims that Brad accepts her for who she is. “I’m still going to a roo in Ibiza and don a bikini,” I said. She claims that’s who I am. He never attempts to depress me. When a guy has done that in a relationship, it’s very liberating when they embrace you for who you really are.
Olivia left the Love Island villa almost ten years ago, finishing third behind Chris Hughes. You get a crash course on dealing with being in the public eye when you leave, she says, but you can’t actually recall the experiences of life before.
Olivia maintains a refreshingly grounded mindset despite her success. She says, “I still don’t consider myself to be famous.” “Mariah Carey is well-known. Although I may be familiar to you if you live in the UK, my life is fairly normal.
She continues to grow in no time with her career on the up. She exclaims, “I’ve been working since I left that villa.” They can’t eliminate me, they say.
On September 14, Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends airs again on ITVX.
Mark Labbett, better known as The Beast, has previously stormed off the stage and struck a wall after being defeated by a group of contestants on The Chase.

Darragh Ennis has dubbed The Chase star Mark Labbett “the worst loser ever” after the 60-year-old “walked off” set when he failed to win a show. Darragh, 44, joined the cast of The Chase in 2020.
As one of the formidable Chasers, he appears alongside Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, Anne Hegerty, and Shaun Wallace. A team of four contestants compete against the Chasers to win a cash prize in the finale of the competition.
Since the show’s inception in 2009, 533 teams have successfully beat the Chasers and walked away with the money. On the Podcast Dempsey’s Dozen, host Ian Dempsey recalled a recent episode where Mark stormed off after losing in the dying seconds.
It prompted Darragh to reveal that The Beast hates” to lose. He explained: “We do take it seriously. Mark is, and he would not mind me saying this, the worst loser in the world.
He claims that he “does it,” and that is not an act. He might make a little comedic fun of it, but he is genuinely angry, sore-lost, kicks off, and then recovers five minutes later.

He dislikes losing, he says. When we’re doing Beat the Chasers, we have to tell him to stop buzzing in because he wants to get in there if he hasn’t responded to a question in a while.
Mark has a reputation for his fiery on-set antics throughout his time on the show. After host Bradley Walsh addressed a number of errors that resulted in two contestants receiving £30, 000, he reportedly punched a wall as he stormed off set in 2020.
After watching the dramatic exit, Bradley mused, “Oops, I think he’s upset,” before congratulating the winners.
The host continued, “Wow, he is furious,” when Mark returned to speak with him after he had not reappeared. For those of you who believe it to be a part of the show, it is not. He has actually fled and stormed off.

Two years later, Mark once more stormed off the set, this time thanks to a team that won a £21,000 jackpot. Bradley, 65, expressed regret on behalf of the Chaser and said it was inappropriate to handle defeat.

I apologize to all the children who were watching, Bradley said. You shouldn’t accept defeat in that way. You ought to take it humbly and magnanimously.
Mark subsequently apologised for the outburst in a social media post. Writing on X, then Twitter, he said: “Apologies to those of you disappointed with my behaviour tonight. My mental health was shot before that game, it was storm off or break down in tears. A remorseless diet of quality opponents didn’t help #thechase.”
After the clubs agreed to a 25 million euro (£21.65 million) deal for the Brazil winger, Antony’s move from Manchester United to Real Betis was revived.
United initially believed they had reached a sale agreement with Real Betis, but Betis later announced in a statement that they were retracing their offer.
Antony, 25, requested payment of a portion of his United contract, which led to the breakdown of the agreement.
Over the weekend, discussions continued to try to break the impasse, with Antony now receiving a medical clearance from United sources.
United sources said the deal is 22m euros (£19.06m) with 3m euros of add-ons (£2.59m).
The agreement includes a 50% net sell-on clause and no payment to the player.
When Antony left Ajax in 2022, he cost United £81.33 million.
He recorded five goals and three assists in 62 Premier League appearances.
In 26 league and cup appearances, Antony scored nine goals for Betis on loan in January.
On Monday, his permanent relocation to Spain is anticipated to be confirmed.
Kobbie Mainoo is anticipated to remain at United in the interim.
After seeing his limited appearances, the England midfielder, 20, wants to go on a loan.
At the age of 38, Novak Djokovic defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in a dominant 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 match despite having lost on his daughter’s birthday.
“Yes, she was disappointed that I was unable to attend the birthday party.” Please don’t remind me of that, Djokovic, who became the oldest man to reach all four Grand Slam quarterfinals in a single season, on Sunday.
Djokovic’s record-extending victory kept his pursuit of a record-breaking 25th major title alive, and it also led to his entry into his 64th Grand Slam quarterfinal.
However, the Serbian’s focus was on family issues when he discussed the sacrifices that were necessary at this point in his career.
“If I’m here, I’ll try to win.” At least I’m going to try to win and give her that kind of present,” Djokovic said.
For her birthday party, I’m going to send some lovely presents as well as some lovely surprises.

Djokovic is the dominant player.
During the 109-minute contest at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the experience over power was unmatched.
Djokovic, a 35-year-old German, broke the German’s serve six times in the fourth round, asserting control of the fourth-round match from the opening contest. His own serve proved crucial in the face of a player who had the tournament’s second-highest ace count of 66 at the start of the contest.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion completely neutralized Struff’s biggest weapon by firing 12 aces while winning 79 percent of first-serve points.
“Serving well is undoubtedly helpful. Djokovic said, “I think I had a great serving performance tonight as well as in the final round.”
“I just saw the statistics, and I outstripped one of the guys this year who had the most aces,” I thought. That, of course, makes my life easier on the court.
In order to advance to his first US Open fourth round, Struff, who is ranked 144th overall, defeated two seeded players, Frances Tiafoe (17th), Holger Rune (11th), and Frances Tiafoe (17th), but he was unable to put any real pressure on the seventh seed.
The German made only 19 winners and committed 32 unforced errors.
This US Open men’s singles match in the fourth round or later in the professional era was the oldest due to their combined 73 years and 60 days.
Djokovic, who is currently 36-0 against Grand Slam qualifiers, had to have his right shoulder and forearm treated by a physio during the match, but he did not appear to be overly constrained by the issues.
Djokovic said he was not looking beyond Taylor Fritz, who finished second in the 2024 US Open, when he was preparing for a potential semifinal against world number two Carlos Alcaraz.
One thing I’ve learned over the past few years is to take really one match at a time, he said.

Wales bowed out in the Women’s Rugby World Cup quarter-finals despite the fact that England, Scotland, and Ireland had all advanced.
A historic try, a memorable moment for Samoan rugby, and a historic try for Brazil were also featured in the second round of fixtures.
The missing thrillers are delivered by York.

In the first round of games, the Women’s World Cup was dominated by one-sided scorelines, which demanded an edge-of-your-seat classic.
Two also arrived at York Community Stadium, just like buses.
First, Australia and the United States traded the lead in a thrilling 31-31 draw that kept both teams’ knockout hopes alive on Saturday evening.
Eva Karpani’s try, which Wallaroos prop Eva Karpani had attempted to win, appeared to have secured a dramatic victory, but Samantha Wood’s attempt to win the match was largely unconvincing.
USA center Ilona Maher remarked, “We’re changing the game here, even just by these crowds.”
People are loving us, they came out in support, and we gave them a really entertaining piece of rugby, despite the fact that this is a game not between two of the larger rugby nations.
South Africa’s late goal secured their first ever quarter-final spot with a historic victory of 29-24 over Italy at the same venue, which was on the verge of another thrilling draw on Sunday.
“This is unbelievable. It is so moving. Swys de Bruin, South Africa’s head coach, said, “We have never won the quarterfinals or defeated Italy.”

Scotland finally reaches the quarter-finals once more.

Scotland became the first nation to reach the quarter-finals after defeating a strong Fiji side 29-15 on Saturday in Salford.
The reward is a place in the knockout stages for the first time since 2002, as well as an impressive opening-round victory over Wales.
Francesca McGhie scored twice to increase her World Cup try total to five, but the game’s vintage Fijian flair and power kept things interesting.
Former Scotland international Deborah McCormack told BBC Sport, “We have to celebrate the fact that Scotland has qualified for the quarter-final of the World Cup for the first time since 2002.”
Before some of these players were born, that was. It is a significant accomplishment that leaves a legacy for both the players who preceded and those who will follow.
The performance was not the fully polished article, but they resurrected their leadership. They are truly in a position to defeat the best.
One of the best matches takes place on Saturday against world leaders Canada, who finished second in Pool B and is likely to face hosts England in the knockout stages.
The moment is up for the underdogs.

Samoa gleefully took the lead after 47-0 defeat to England in Northampton when Harmony Vatau scored the opener.
Since having not scored a point in a World Cup game since 2014, their players and supporters had a huge cheerleading match.
Vatau’s score, which was a record for the Red Roses winning in a World Cup, may have helped Samoa’s head coach, who acknowledged his team wanted to avoid “that zero,” but it may have ended up shipping 92 points, which is a record-setting result for the Samoa team.
Samoa are 15th in the world and have players taking unpaid leave to play at the World Cup, which is due to the fact that their part-time players had to crowdfund to pay for their place.
Brazil, the only nation in the world rankings standings after Samoa, had their own underdog moment in Exeter.
Bianca Silva, the Yaras sevens captain, dummied and raced over half the pitch to score a remarkable individual score in Exeter after being dumped out of the Brazilian favelas to play rugby as part of a charity project.
Silva was wooed on by a loud Sandy Park before being mobbed by her team-mates in their first Women’s Rugby World Cup try for Brazil.
Emiliano Caffera, the head coach, said, “I am very proud of the girls.

Wales exhibits signs of improvement as the competition comes to an end

Wales were aware that their fate in the World Cup opener against Scotland was likely to be decided by that fact.
A disappointing 38-8 defeat for Canada’s No. 2 seeded team made it difficult to advance to the knockout stages, so a victory on Saturday against the world’s No. 2 ranked side was required.
Before this year’s Women’s Six Nations, Sean Lynn replaced his starting XV with seven changes.
Back rower Branwen Metcalfe, 18, made her Test debut from the bench, while the average age for Wales’ front row was just 20.
Despite being defeated by one of the World Cup favorites with a 42-0 defeat, Lynn’s young side showed plenty of green shoots to work with as the season progressed.
Former Wales captain Philippa Tuttiett told BBC’s Rugby Union Weekly, “I’m glad the Wales women showed their respect for the jersey and the effort they put in.”
Sean Lynn will be able to advance with that team if you apply that to his coaching prowess.
Wales must first pay attention to the emerging nations that are in opposition, with Fiji, who are four places below them in 14th, likely to have a difficult final pool game on Saturday in Exeter.
Spain, ranked 13th, lost to Ireland on Sunday, which showed signs of progress, 43-27.
Ireland’s depth increases before world champions.

Wales should look to Ireland, who have scored 85 points in their opening two games against Japan and Spain, for inspiration if they need it.
Under Scott Bemand, Ireland have only made one World Cup appearance since 2017, which is their first since 2017.
Aoife Wafer, the eighth-ranked player, has not yet participated in this tournament and will hope to return for the pool decider against New Zealand on Sunday in Brighton.
With a strong all-around performance, Grace Moore skillfully filled Wafer’s shoes against Spain, scoring two tries and putting up 14 tackles.
It’s great to see that the back row of Ireland has such depth, Alphonsi said.
Wafer was warming up against Spain, so it appears like she might be able to play in her next game.
“There are other players pushing,” he said. Sam Monaghan’s injury has also improved Brittany Hogan.
Last year, Bemand’s team won a shocking victory over the world champions at WXV1, giving them hope that Pool C will be won out of reach for the semi-finals.
