According to Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, “The nine injured survivors were quickly extricated by LASTMA officials with support from other emergency responders and immediately transported to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Epe and Hammond Hospital for urgent medical attention.”
He added that their families would need to be formally identified as their skeletal remains had been deposited at the FMC morgue in Epe. The Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), which worked in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), immediately treated the four unhurt survivors.
The victims’ quick evacuation and normalcy at the accident site were assured by the coordinated emergency response.
Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the general manager of LASTMA, spoke with the families of the deceased while expressing concern about the persistent cases of reckless driving on Lagos highways. He cautioned drivers against speeding, saying that “speed thrills, but ultimately kills”.

Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has shared updates on her pregnancy ahead of giving birth. The reality TV star showcased her bump in a selfie and has revealed that she thought she was going into labour earlier this morning.
Shaughna, 31, who appeared on the ITV2 show in 2020, is expecting her second child with her partner Billy Webb, with her having announced that she was pregnant back in June. The couple are already parents to daughter Lucia, two, together.
Throughout the pregnancy, the former islander has kept fans informed. She recently shared a selfie of her current baby bump in a previous post. Her tummy was displayed while she was lying down while wearing a brown top and jeans.
Shaughna teased herself that she was going into labor in a video that she shared this morning on Instagram. She claimed to be experiencing “intense” Braxton Hicks, which the NHS refers to as “practice contractions.”
In the video message, she asked: “How did I used to go out like a clubbin?” How? I’m not sure. I had the most intense Braxton Hicks on my list when I woke up at two in the morning and was s***ing my pants. This is it, I thought. Thankfully, it wasn’t.

The updates come after Shaughna teased just days ago that she had reunited with her partner Billy. He was sentenced to nine years and was held in an open prison, where inmates are able to leave the site, and was reportedly recently released.
Shaughna mentioned last week that she and Billy had reunited. The reality TV star wrote in the caption of the photo, “It all worked out,” as he kissed her cheek while holding their daughter Lucia.
According to a statement made by Shaughna, “We definitely wouldn’t have tried for this baby if he wasn’t going to be here.” Because he isn’t very good with blood, I’m so curious to see how he’ll behave at the birth. Therefore, I believe that listening to him speak will distract me from what is happening.
In an interview with the Mirror, published in June, Shaughna said at the time that Billy was allowed out on home visits for “a few days” each month. She was also said to have shared that he was due for early release and teased that he was expected to be home in time for their new arrival.
She later stated, “I am aware of the date that he is scheduled to return, but I don’t say that just because something could happen.” But I’m hoping he’s at home by the time my baby is due.

As a range of policies put forth by US President Donald Trump’s administration have made tourists less likely to travel to the country, the number of foreign visitors to the country is still declining.
According to recently released preliminary government data, foreign visits to the US decreased by 3% year over year in July.
Since Trump took office in late January, a trend has been in place almost every month. The US has experienced a decline in foreign visitors for five out of six months.
Brazilian tourist Luise Francine, who is visiting Washington, DC, told Al Jazeera, “Everyone is afraid, scared. There is too much politics about immigration.”
Travelers from other parts of the world have been alienated by Trump’s tariffs, immigration crackdown, and repeated jabs about the US acquiring Canada and, according to experts and local officials.
According to Ryan Bourne, an economist at the Cato Institute, Trump’s rhetoric and policies are at the heart of the decline in tourism.
The president’s trade wars and some of the fallout from concerns about getting entangled in immigration enforcement can be blamed for the decrease, according to the statement.
