Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones were back together again as the Welsh presenter returned to work following the death of his father. The duo reunited for their Morning Live show on Monday and were both seen smiling ahead of their screen time.

Both appeared upbeat as they sipped coffees before their performance, despite not being photographed together. Gethin was casual in a long brown buttoned dress and a pale blue t-shirt with a rucksack while Hellen, 42, was seen wearing a long brown buttoned dress.

As BBC Breakfast hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent announced the return of Morning Live following its hiatus over the summer, Jon couldn’t resist ribbing hosts Helen and Gethin. “We have a true sign now that summer is over,” he started. “Morning Live is back!”

It’s nice to see you, Gethin replied. In July, Gethin and Helen had bid their last respects to Morning Live viewers. At the time, they announced that they would be “taking a few weeks off,” as is customary during the summer.

They teased their reappearance on social media days before their return. One viewer wrote, “Yay!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! What’s not to love about this valuable program that you can watch every day when you’re home from work. It’s so valuable and contains a lot of great health, money, fitness, cooking, and travel advice. I’ve missed you all, so welcome back.

And now they’re back, just weeks after it was reported that they had chosen to “cool off” their romance. Additionally, it was made three weeks after Gethin, 47, made the announcement that his father had passed away. He claimed that his father had passed away after a lengthy illness at the time.

Taking to social media, Gethin shared a picture of himself smiling alongside his dad in hospital. The Instagram post also included a heartfelt post about his beloved father.

The TV presenter remarked, “Wales defeated England,” in a well-known quote from Max Boyce. Before he left us this morning, Hymns and Arias with dad last night.

The most perfect, peaceful conclusion, Gethin sadly continued in his statement. Welsh hymns are playing, and the speaker phone’s grandsons bid you farewell.

Gethin explained how his father’s humor played a significant role in his final years by explaining how he had been battling the illness for a while. He said, “Dad, you were in trouble for a while, but you put up a good fight,” incredible. At the conclusion, it was wonderful to see how important faith, love for classical music, and dry humor were all present.

Someone would stop me and inquire about my father every day while I was visiting Cardiff’s Heath Hospital. He probably taught them once or twice. Over a long period of time, he had a significant influence on education in these areas. He was always reasonable and direct. a headteacher for 28 years, and a teacher for 40!

And Gethin made a point of thanking the NHS, labelling those who had been caring for his dad as “amazing”.

Morning Live on BBC One and iPlayer airs at 9 a.m., followed by BBC Breakfast at 6 a.m.

Russia suspected of jamming navigation on EU leader’s plane above Bulgaria

GPS jamming caused a plane carrying EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen to crash in Bulgaria, where according to officials, Russia is to blame.

Von der Leyen’s chartered jet reportedly encountered a jam as it approached Plovdiv International Airport in southern Bulgaria on Sunday, according to Commission spokesperson Arianna Podesta.

“We can confirm that there was jamming, GPS, and GPS, but the plane safely landed in Bulgaria.” The Bulgarian authorities have provided us with information that suggests that Russia is blatantly behind this, according to Podesta on Monday.

Bulgaria’s Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement that it had advised the pilots to use “terrestrial navigation tools” as an alternative way to land safely.

The plane was forced to land using “paper maps,” according to the Financial Times newspaper, which first covered the incident.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, responded to the Financial Times by saying “your information is incorrect.”

Western officials have accused Russia and its proxies of staging&nbsp, dozens of attacks, and other incidents, including jamming, which involves producing a strong radio signal that overwhelms communications since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Due to congestion, a Finnish airline was forced to temporarily suspend flights to Tartu, Estonia, in April of last year. A plane carrying the British defense secretary was stranded on its way to Russia a month earlier when its satellite signal was jammed.

Von der Leyen visited Bulgaria as part of a four-day tour of “front line” European Union member states that are viewed as more vulnerable to Russian threats, such as Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria.

Podesta argued that the incident would “intensify the bloc’s unwavering commitment to increase defense capabilities and support for Ukraine,” underscoring the commission president’s “urgency” in the region.

In the event of a three-and-a-half-year Russia-Ukraine conflict, Western powers are discussing how to guarantee Ukraine’s security.

At the beginning of his second term as president, US President Donald Trump attempted to restart diplomatic relations with Russia, but diplomatic efforts have slowed.

One aspect of filming the Devil Wears Prada 2 has proved to be a “rude awakening” according to Emily Blunt. She has also spoken about the original film remaining beloved by fans amid working on the much awaited sequel this year.

Emily, now 42, played Emily Charlton in the Devil Wears Prada, which was released back in 2006. Her character was introduced to viewers as the senior assistant of magazine editor Miranda Priestly, who was played by Meryl Streep.

They are both among the returning cast members who are back for the new film. Emily and Meryl have been spotted filming alongside co-stars Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci, who are reprising their roles as Andy Sachs and Nigel Kipling respectively.

Filming has been underway on the sequel in New York this summer. It comes after it was announced in June that production had begun on the upcoming film, which is currently expected to be released next year.

Emily spoke to Porter magazine last month about reprising her role in the sequel. During the interview, published today, she shared that her style is different to that of her character, revealing that she likes “oversized” pieces and “to hide”.

She said that even when she decides to “dress it up,” she will still wear a pair of trainers when talking about her “casual” wardrobe. Emily teased her by implying that she has been wearing heels as part of her character despite not being a fan of heels.

She continued, “Getting back to The Devil Wears Prada has been a rude awakening for all of us because I don’t like wearing heels.” For the upcoming movie, she inquired about how it has been “wild” slipping back into her character’s stilettos.

Emily then brought up the film’s popularity. None of the cast members anticipated the “meteoric life” it would continue to have and how its impact would be felt among the viewers, she claimed.

She added that her husband John Krasinski had described it as “people’s nostalgia bank” to her. Emily then suggested that fans have watched the Devil Wears Prada through various moments in their lives.

She continued, “Of course, I meet people who will quote the movie to me, but I’m not sure I’ve ever been bombarded with the realization of what the movie is to those returning to the movie set.” “Holy s**t,” she continued, “That’s what everyone says, every day.

Emily added that her family has “deep emotional roots” in the movie. Stanley, her co-star in The Devil Wears Prada, met Felicity Blunt, the mother of her two children.

Stanley is said to have first met Felicity at the film’s premiere almost two decades ago. The future couple later reconnected at Emily’s wedding to John, before going on to tie the knot themselves in 2012.

Jeremy Clarkson considering moving to Dubai due to ‘the horror of Keir Starmer’

In his most recent Sunday Times column, the 65-year-old former Top Gear presenter has been left fuming by the UK’s “broken future full of nothing about taxation, crime, and disease.”

Jeremy is talking about his potential departure from the UK.

TV star Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about whether he would consider leaving the UK, describing it as a “doomed” nation.

The former Top Gear presenter, 65, expressed his frustrations with the country’s “broken future full of nothing but taxation, crime, and disease” in his recent Sunday Times column. He pointed to the “flatlining” economy, “stagnant” housing market, and “ineffective” police force as reasons to consider emigration.

Clarkson, who also hosted The Grand Tour, has faced numerous challenges in 2025, branding it the “worst year ever” for his Cotswolds farm due to relentless heatwaves and drought. Recently, he disclosed that his farm has been under lockdown for at least two months because of a bovine tuberculosis outbreak among his cattle.

The columnist is the owner of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire's Diddly Squat Farm.

In the midst of these issues, Clarkson pondered whether he should seek sanctuary in places like Dubai, Europe, or Australia.

In his column, he wrote, “It’s simple to convince yourself that Britain is now an unsalvageable basket case, a country that has slipped into a pair of Fairy Liquid butter pants and is currently hurtling down the slide of doom into a broken future full of nothing but taxation, crime, and disease.”

Clarkson criticized the “forms and requirements” for moving to Australia, New Zealand, and America as “obvious choices” but claimed they were “tiresome”.

Before choosing Dubai as a potential option, he rejected other nations like Italy, France, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, and Switzerland.

“No income tax. Petrol 50p a litre. The police do what they’re” Clarkson penned, “What’s not to like? I used to enjoy Dubai back in the early Nineties when there were no people in it and only one hotel. But today, it feels like the bastard love child of Las Vegas and Mickey Mouse.”

Jeremy says it is best to
Jeremy says it’s better to “stay put” than leave the UK at this time.

The TV presenter argued that despite the UK’s current “awful” climate, it’s better to stay put than to relocate. “If you move abroad, in three-and-a-half years you will be living in another country, and God knows what it will be like there then.

In three and a half years, you’ll be surrounded by your friends and family, whereas if you stay here. He argued that the horror of [Keir] Starmer will have vanished.

This summer, Clarkson has faced a series of challenges at his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. In July, the motoring journalist revealed that the farm had been hit with the infectious disease, bovine tb, from a pregnant cow.

It’s “awful, it’s awful.” He told Times Radio that you have a test on the cows every six months, and after that, you sort of become blasé. It’s a real threat. The vet then says, “I’m really sorry this one’s failed,” as he did yesterday lunchtime.

So that implies that we are now completely locked up and that the situation is dreadful. Clarkson confirmed that the closure of his adjacent farm shop, which he had previously owned, is still “unaffected” by the setback and continues to be in operation.

Edo PDP Rejects Planned Council By-Elections, Calls Exercise ‘Illegal’

The state’s planned bye-elections process has been condemned by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, calling it “a kangaroo exercise.”

The party called the move “illegal, unconstitutional, and a blatant disregard of a subsisting court order” in a statement released on Monday by Chris Nehikhare, the party’s publicity secretary for the Caretaker Committee of the PDP in Edo State.

The party claimed that “the body or group of people parading themselves as the organizers of this exercise are unauthorised and lacked the authority to hold elections of this nature.”

Additionally, PDP pointed out that councillors’ mandates were already in place in each of the state’s 192 wards, and that they would not be effective until September 2026.

This democratic mandate cannot be stifled by fabricated processes, it remarked.

The party also claimed that the Edo State government “runs the state in complete disregard for democratic norms, in total disregard of the law, and in complete disregard of judicial pronouncements.”

The PDP claimed that the planned exercise was “nothing short of a civilian coup against the people of Edo State” and that it was intended to “seize control of our councils by hook or by crook, undermining the will of the people, and destabilizing grassroots governance.”

The party demanded that the government “retrace its steps, uphold the rule of law, and stop causing Edo to suffer an avoidable political crisis.”
