Ozzy Osbourne’s family ‘never expected’ he would die so soon after farewell show

Ozzy Osbourne’s death just days after his massive Black Sabbath farewell show at Villa Park in Birmingham was revealed by Jack Osbourne’s family, who has not yet known.

Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack has revealed “no one expected” he would die just days after performing his farewell show. The music icon sadly died in July aged 76 just 17 days after taking to the stage for one last time.

He made an epic comeback with Black Sabbath and performed solo at his Back to the Beginning concert in his hometown of Birmingham. Ozzy was joined by his rock pals as they put on one of the greatest send off shows in music history.

Just over two weeks later, the tragic news of Ozzy’s death broke. He died at the family home in Buckinghamshire after wanting to return to the UK with wife Sharon for years.

Ozzy and Sharon had been open about his condition after receiving a Parkinson’s diagnosis, but the couple’s family acknowledged that considering his death wasn’t on their “radar.” After learning the news at his Los Angeles home, Jack immediately flew to England to visit with his family.

He said he just felt “sadness and pain” upon hearing the news but did find comfort that Ozzy was no longer in pain. “There was a level of okay he’s not suffering anymore,” Jack said on his YouTube channel.

He doesn’t have any problems, which is good. I long for him to be with us all, and I long for him to be. However, he was clearly having an unpleasant time, and I believe that was apparent at the event.

No one anticipated it to occur as quickly as it did, and when it did, Jack explained, describing how Ozzy’s death shocked people. It wasn’t something we were anticipating.

After that, he made a decision to dispel any rumors that Ozzy planned to pass away after the show. According to Jack, “I know that in the lead up to it, there was a lot of planning going on with my dad going to Switzerland to put himself to death.”

It wasn’t absolutely not that this was, it was. That is absolutely absurd and false. Jack explained to Jack that Ozzy was “so happy” that he had been able to take one last step backstage and that he was getting ready to retire.

He “joked” to enter this stage of his life, “Jack shared.” He desired to travel to England longer. He desired to have my children spend more time with.

He “wished to devote as much time to exploring different things as much as he could.” Jack recalls the day Ozzy passed away by knocking on my home door at around 3:45 in the morning from a person who had worked for my family for God for almost 30 years.

I just knew something bad had happened when I looked through my window and realized it was him. My father passed away, I was informed.

“Just sadness, pain, and so many thoughts,” the phrase goes. You experience this feeling of depressed, angry, and anger that seems to me necessary at this very moment.

Wuthering Heights trailer with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi dubbed ‘tacky’ and ‘garish’

The new Wuthering Heights movie adaptation’s first trailer has been released, and it’s obvious Emerald Fennell’s take on the classic novel will be very provocative.

Fans of Wuthering Heights claim the new film adaptation is “worse than you could ever imagine.”

Emily Bronte fans have been left divided as the first look at the latest Wuthering Heights movie adaptation has been revealed. The iconic dark romance is set to get the Hollywood treatment with Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie in the leading roles.

Saltburn director Emerald Fennell’s hotly anticipated movie adaptation set on the lonesome Yorkshire Moors has been given a saucy makeover, with many fearing it is a far cry from the classic book. The opening scene sees a man ejaculates while being executed, with other risqué scenes teased.

In the new trailer, Charli xcx’s hit Everything Is Romantic acts as a soundtrack as viewers are introduced to Margot and Jacob as Catherine and Heathcliff.

The trailer may not have gone down well but many love the film’s romance novel cover style poster(Image: Warner Bros. Pictures)

According to those who have already seen the full film, Oscar-nominated Fennel’s adaptation of Bronte’s classic novel was “aggressively provocative,” with mixed reviews coming out of advanced screenings.

And the first trailer undoubtedly sparked some contradictory opinions among social media commentators as well. A stunning close-up of Margot is followed by a stunning shot of a grand estate nestled in the West Yorkshire moors. We are suddenly shown a close-up of two female hands kneading bread.

A shirtless, bare, glistening back, a man handling hay in a stable, more bread-kneading, fingers tracing through egg yolks, Margot’s Catherine placing her fingers on Jacob’s face, a woman wearing horse tack, and, naturally, a finger probing the mouth of a fish are what follows in a montage of more traditional images.

Fennell’s interpretation appears to be divisive.

“It’s worse than you could ever imagine,” one Twitter (X) user penned in reaction to the trailer going live. “This looks and feels garish & tacky as sh** lmao god bless,” another added as a third fumed: “someone take away emerald fennell’s directing license i’m so serious.”

But some are excited to see the latest adapation of Wuthering Heights when it lands in cinemas on Valentine’s Day next year. “It looks stunning and erotic. (In the best way),” one fan quipped, as another gushed: “Margot Robbie + Jacob Elordi in a gothic Valentine’s release? That’s gonna pack theaters.”

One viewer described Fennell’s interpretation of the movie as “aggressively provocative and tonally abrasive” at the film’s first test screening last month. The movie begins with a public hanging where the “condemned man ejaculates mid-execution,” according to reports following the screening. A nun “fondles the corpse’s visible erection” while the crowd of people watching the execution then reacts orgiastically.

Some people have questioned Margot’s age in the role of Catherine.

Jacob gushed about the upcoming film earlier this year, saying, “The performances from everyone are breathtaking. It’s a truly wonderful romance. It’s an authentic epic. It has stunning visuals. The writing is stunning. The costumes are incredible.

Jacob being cast as Heathcliff initially sparked some controversary, due to the character being described as hating dark skin in Bronte’s book. Casting director, Karmel Cochrane, defended the decision to place a white man in the role earlier this year.

“There was one Instagram comment that said the casting director should be shot,” she said. “But just wait till you see it, and then you can decide whether you want to shoot me or not. But you really don’t need to be accurate. It’s just a book. That is not based on real life. It’s all art.”

Oasis branded ‘free riders’ as Gallagher brothers’ feud with online retailer escalates

The band’s attempts to trademark their logo design have been criticized by the retailer of the same name, with the Gallagher brothers currently reportedly being branded “free riders” by the company.

Noel and Liam Gallagher has been slammed by an online fashion retailer who has labelled Oasis as “free riders”. Clothing brand Oasis criticised the group’s application to trademark the band’s logo.

They object to the movement because the logo is “identical” to their own. However, it’s reported that the Mancunian group has reportedly hired legal counsel to defend their position. The brothers’ earlier in the year submitted an application to the Intellectual Property Office for the trademark logo.

According to reports, they are considering using the white lettering on a black background on a number of products, including clothing brands, toys, and cosmetics. And it’s believed that Noel, 48, and Liam, 52, turned to Beck Greener for the fight.

They once helped Paul O’Grady in his fight against a brewery who were trying to name a beer by his alter-ego, Lily Savage.

Noel and Liam are not reversing, according to a source. Their teams are confident in their ability to succeed. According to them, “If there is no resolution after the mediation period, the case will go to a tribunal.”

However, the former high street giant store, which is currently only available online, claims that if the band succeeds, it will “obtain an unfair advantage by free-riding on the opponent’s trademark, thereby potentially increasing sales of its goods”.

The musicians have been touring as a result of the scenario. The band has now crossed the water following a smashing UK and Ireland leg.

They have given performances in the US and will next weekend take to the Mexican stage. However, a fan who had the opportunity to witness them on both sides of the Atlantic has come to know that now that they are heading to the states has noticed a significant change.

The retailer is not impressed,

The Mirror US’s deputy entertainment editor, Kirsty McCormack, expressed her gratitude to The Mirror US for spending “every penny” watching Oasis live on August 3. These kinds of memories are incomparable.

There’s nothing better than being surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of total strangers who are equally fond of a band as you are. Even though it’s nice to have a seat at a concert occasionally, I was SO glad to be in the middle, even if it did feel like a workout at times! “

Before she was able to get a ticket of her own, Kirsty, who is based in New York, admitted to feeling a little jealous toward some friends who had tickets to the New Jersey dates at the end of August.

She admitted, “I was skeptical about how the US crowd would compare to the UK crowd. I went to the pop-up store in Manhattan last week and met a fantastic turnout of American and British fans eager to see the NJ shows.

She acknowledged that the night’s atmosphere simply wasn’t the same as it was on the night with just a hint of sadness. She claimed that the atmosphere simply wasn’t the same. One of my friends responded to my Instagram Story the following morning and said, “The crowd is small!

Anisimova stuns Swiatek to avenge heavy Wimbledon final defeat

US Open 2025

Dates: August 24 through September 7 in Flushing Meadows, New York

Amanda Anisimova won the US Open semi-finals after beating the second seed in the Wimbledon final against Iga Swiatek.

Swiatek, a Polish champion, defeated Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 to claim the title in a one-sided showpiece at SW19.

However, the American won 6-4, 6-3 in a high-quality match in New York, demonstrating her true potential.

In stark contrast to the Wimbledon final, eighth-seeded Anisimova appeared confident and at ease, producing 23 winners as her powerful debut beat Swiatek.

The 24-year-old said, “I’ve been having the run of my life here.”

“I was like OK, let’s try and get through one round when I first arrived here.”

Such a dream, I must say. It’s really special for me to return from Wimbledon that way.

“I worked really hard to change that,” he said. I can do it, as today demonstrated to me.

Anisimova showed incredible resilience to advance to a major semi-final so quickly after taking a two-year break from the sport in 2022 to protect her mental health.

The Wimbledon final might have come to mind when Swiatek took Anisimova’s serve in the opening match of the quarter-final.

However, Anisimova continued to follow her plan this time around. She fought back and forth before bidding her time as she served brilliantly and had excellent backhand skills.

She had a good time getting the break on the Pole’s second serve, winning 12 of her 17 points, and winning the match’s opening set.

Swiatek left the court in the middle of the first set and resurrended in full force, breaking once more but this time with a hold.

Anisimova might have forgiven her for thinking about Wimbledon in the future, but she kept her cool and saved the break two games later.

As Swiatek desperately looked to her coaching box for guidance after breaking in the eighth game to give herself the chance to play for the match.

‘Will happen again’: Rubio hints at more US strikes against drug smugglers

Despite concerns about the legality of such attacks and the sovereignty of Latin American countries, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has declared that military attacks on alleged drug traffickers will “happen again.”

Rubio said the US would continue to coordinate security with nations like Mexico during a press conference on Wednesday, but that the US would not be hesitant to take drastic measures on its own.

His remarks came in response to President Donald Trump’s statement that a ship had been blown up in the Caribbean Sea by the US&nbsp the day before.

No specifics were provided about the small boat’s identification as a drug-smuggling vessel coming from Venezuela. Apparently, all 11 of the passengers passed away.

Rubio viewed the airstrike as a shift in the US’s ongoing “war on drugs” strategy.

“The United States has long established intelligence that made it possible for us to detach and stop drug boats,” he said. And we succeeded in doing that. Additionally, it is ineffective. Rubio remarked that interdiction is ineffective.

When you blow them up and when you get rid of them, what will stop them?

Rubio then explained that Trump had personally authorized the attack. Rubio claimed that it was heading for the US because it was in the south of the Caribbean Sea at the time of the attack.

We blew it up, according to the president, rather than interdicting it. Rubio added that it will happen again. “Maybe it’s taking place right now. I don’t know”.

Rubio’s visit to Mexico City comes as the Trump administration attempts to work closely with the country, but concerns have risen abroad as a result of its aggressive foreign policy.

Latin American countries have struggled to balance Trump’s increasingly vehement threats with the need for working relationships with the US.

According to experts, international law, which forbids military action on ships sailing through international waters, makes it likely that attacks like Tuesday’s boat bombing are prohibited.

Rubio continued, arguing that the course of action was necessary to safeguard America’s well-being.

You pose an immediate threat to the United States if you’re sailing on a boat full of cocaine or fentanyl, or whatever, according to Rubio.

Armed organizations around the world frequently assumed that these organizations, which are frequently linked to armed or fighting groups, pose a direct threat to US national security. That defense has not previously been used as a pretext for military operations against drug trafficking, which have been deemed criminal.

However, that approach has changed with Trump’s second inauguration.

Trump has pushed for emergency powers since taking office in January based on the idea that there are “invasions” of US-based criminal organizations in Latin America.

Additionally, he has referred to a large number of these organizations as “foreign terrorist organizations.”

Despite being concerned about its legitimacy, reports emerged in August that Trump had signed an order authorizing military strikes against cartels and other drug-smuggling operations. This fueled fears that the US would launch military strikes in Latin America in response to concerns about sovereignty.

Mexico, the US’s southern-most immediate neighbor, has seen a rise in these concerns.

Mexico and the US both issued a joint statement expressing respect for “sustainability and territorial integrity” as a result of Rubio’s visit.

Claudia Sheinbaum, the president of Mexico, has also repeatedly fought to unmask concerns that the Trump administration might act unilaterally on Mexican soil. Trump, by contrast, has not ruled out such a possibility.

According to Al Jazeera’s John Holman, Rubio’s visit was intended to “smooth the feathers” and ease Mexican tensions.

“There was a lot of enthusiastic praise,” she said. However, Holman explained that President Trump has stated repeatedly that the US is “very happy to send its military down into the country to fight drug cartels” despite the fact that he has been saying it before.

“The Mexican foreign minister repeatedly said, “Yes, we’re going to work with the United States,” in a very diplomatic way, saying everyone in their own jurisdiction, really wasn’t touched on in this meeting.”

Rubio and other US officials have, however, emphasized that the US will continue to work with Mexico on security and drug control, despite the US’s pressure to take a more aggressive stance.

On Fox and Friends, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that “we have assets in the air, assets in the water, and assets on ships because this is a very serious mission for us, and it won’t stop with just this strike.”

As the US militarizes its combativeness of criminal organizations, some nations in the region are skeptical.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said, “I, along with the majority of the country, am pleased that the US naval deployment is succeeding in their mission.”

Salesforce lays off thousands despite strong earnings report

As the tech giant doubles down on artificial intelligence, Salesforce has cut another 4, 000 jobs from its customer service team despite delivering solid financial results.

The customer service division at Salesforce saw its headcount drop from 9, 000 to 5, 000 as a result of the most recent layoffs. Currently, according to reports, AI agents are in charge of about one million customer conversations.

CEO Marc Benioff justified the cuts in a recent episode of The Logan Bartlett Show by saying he “needs less heads” because Salesforce invests heavily in AI throughout its operations.

After shedding 1, 000 people in February, Benioff claimed that AI was already completing 30% to 50% of the work, which he referred to as efficiency gains&nbsp.

The Slack owner reported on Wednesday that revenue for the quarter ended on July 31 was up 10% over the same period last year. Additionally, the company announced a $20 billion stock buyback plan increase.

These results reflect the success of our customers, including those at Pfizer, Marriott, and the US Army, who are transforming into agent-centric businesses, where workers and AI agents collaborate to reimagine workflows, increase productivity, and deliver customer success, according to Benioff.

We delivered strong returns, increased operating margins, and added the most value for our customers and shareholders while meeting all of our financial goals for the 10th consecutive quarter.

However, the business software provider also predicted that client spending on its enterprise cloud products would drop below Wall Street expectations due to macroeconomic uncertainty and the company’s revenue decline.

Following the bell, the San Francisco, California-based business’ shares dropped by more than 4% in trading.

Despite seeing countless people lose their jobs, Benioff, whose annual salary was $55 million, has openly embraced automation as a pillar of Salesforce’s future. He calls the recent year of AI expansion “the eight most exciting months of my career,” insisting that the aggressive replacement of people with machines is worthwhile.

Salesforce does not recently do this. In early 2023, Benioff oversaw a large-scale layoff of 7, 000 workers, or 10% of the global workforce, but later that year, the&nbsp, cloud computing triumvirate hired 3, 000 workers.

A contradictory message

“Just recently, [Salesforce] downplayed the threat to jobs that AI poses. Important questions are raised by the most recent action regarding sector trust. Tech consultant Waseem Mirza told Al Jazeera, “It’s very harmful and creates a climate of fear in the industry’s wider workforce.”

Benioff echoed that soft line in July, claiming that AI would “augment” rather than “augment” people. He doubled down on that assurance in a post on X just one day before the layoffs were announced.

Our agentic future is not predetermined. We diminish ourselves if AI takes the place of human judgment, creativity, and empathy, he wrote.

This sends a powerful message to the tech sector, which has experienced the most recent layoffs fueled by AI, and could cause a sector-wide copycat effect, Mirza said.

“We will see the disruption continue, and it is growing day by day.”

Salesforce is not the only one. In July, Recruit Holdings, the parent company of Indeed and Glassdoor, cut 1,300 jobs as a result of its AI shift. In the first quarter of this year, Krana fired 40% of its workforce. In April, Duolingo announced that it would no longer employ contractors and would instead use artificial intelligence.

These reductions can be understood as a means of maximising efficiency and ultimately shareholder value, according to “internally]at Salesforce.” However, there is a chance that when junior positions are cut too deeply, they could undermine their own future talent pool, which would be detrimental strategically, according to Fabian Stephany, assistant professor for AI and Work at the University of Oxford.

The industry is largely supportive of that concern. CEO of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, stated earlier this year to the media that AI could eliminate 50% of entry-level white-collar positions.

Between October 2022 and July 2025, workers in “highly exposed” fields saw a 13% relative decline in employment opportunities. The impact is even more amplified in particular in technology. According to new research from Stanford University, employment opportunities for software engineers have decreased by 20%.
