Liverpool’s Isak ‘forever grateful’ to Newcastle

Alexander Isak thanked the club’s supporters in a farewell message following his move to Liverpool, saying it had “been an honor” to play for the club.

Following a lengthy transfer saga, the Sweden striker, who signed for a British record fee of £125 million, made his debut at Merseyside club on Monday on deadline day.

In the Carabao Cup final in March, Isak scored for Newcastle, winning their first domestic trophy in 70 years, 2-1 over Liverpool.

He did, however, claim that he no longer plays for the Magpies this year and that he wanted to leave the club in the summer.

Isak had made the move to Anfield, according to Newcastle’s wry 37-word statement on their website, but the 25-year-old offered a more sincere account of his time on Tyneside.

Isak wrote in a post on his Instagram account, “I want to express my gratitude to my team-mates, the staff, and, most importantly, the city of Newcastle and all the amazing supporters for the three unforgettable years we shared.”

“We have combinedly preserved the club’s history and made it truly its own.”

How the Isak move changed

Isak signed for Newcastle for £60 million from Real Sociedad in 2022, where he scored 27 goals in 42 games last season.

He assisted the Magpies’ victory in the March Carabao Cup, which earned them their fifth-place finish in the Premier League and their promotion to the Champions League.

Isak was excluded from the Magpies’ squad earlier this summer because of what the club described as a “minor thigh injury” during their pre-season tour of Asia, but it was still believed he wanted to look into a move elsewhere.

Before Liverpool’s initial attempt for him was rejected by Newcastle, he then spent time training alone at Sociedad.

Isak claimed in a statement that his relationship with Newcastle had been “broken” and that their relationship cannot continue in light of ongoing speculation about his future.

No official at the club had ever promised Alex could leave this summer, according to Newcastle.

Love Island’s Millie Court and Liam Reardon split for second time over sad reason

Millie Court and Liam Reardon, both of whom are lovers, are reportedly having a second breakup. The couple made a seventh episode of the 2021 dating ITV2 dating program, and they won. They briefly separated before reuniting, despite what they appeared to be saying.

The TV stars ended their relationship in 2022’s summer, but they later found each other again a year later. However, a friend’s claim that they “tried so hard to make it work makes it seem like their relationship is over.”

According to an insider, the “distance was just difficult,” so they made the decision to part ways once more. For comment, The Mirror reached out to their representatives.

Friends are hoping this might just be a blip because it’s all still very fresh, the source told The Sun. “Obviously, they’ve worked things out before.

“But they are currently separating,” they said. Everyone who is in their shoes hopes that they can resolve their conflict.

When they were contestants in the villa during season seven of Love Island, they foretold each other for the first time in 2021. After coming to terms with the fact that Liam had his head briefly turned in Casa Amor, the pair eventually won the show.

The romance continued after the couple left the villa in 2022, but they broke up. Millie stated in a statement that she and Liam wanted to let you know that their relationship had ended when they first split.

It’s been a difficult choice, and I’m devastated, but it’s ultimately what’s best for us at the moment. Thank you to each and every one of you who has helped us grow our relationship.

“I wish Liam the best of all of his efforts in everything he does,” Liam said, “nothing will ever take away from the incredible experience we shared in Love Island and the past year.”

We’re both prepared for fresh chapters, and I’m looking forward to what comes next. “Love, Millie.

After a while apart, things started to turn around and Liam recently said he planned to start a family with her.

Liam’s sister shared footage of him playing with a child in a Welsh village earlier this year. He then re-posted the content on Instagram and added a heartfelt caption reading, “@milliegracecourt I want one.”

Loftus-Cheek and Quansah added to England squad

Seven years after his last cap, Ruben Loftus-Cheek was named in England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

The AC Milan midfielder has 10 England caps, the last of which came when he started for United States in November 2018.

During his time in charge of Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel, England’s manager, managed the 29-year-old.

After Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton suffered a broken foot, Bayer Leverkusen center-back Jarell Quansah has also been called up.

In his team’s 3-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday, Wharton picked up the groin injury.

Quansah, 22, joined the German club from Liverpool in a £35 million deal last month and was a member of the England side that won the European Under-21 Championship in June.

He has yet to earn his first senior cap, but he was also a member of Tuchel’s first England team in March when he faced Albania and Latvia in the World Cup qualifiers.

Why did Loftus-Cheek leave Chelsea?

Between the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital eras, there was a record-breaking churn of players at Chelsea.

He became a significant player at Stamford Bridge as the first player to successfully enter the now-restored Cobham academy under Abramovich’s leadership.

Under Tuchel, Loftus-Cheek’s best years were those that allowed him to realize his potential in a player he had never seen before, in contrast to Germany’s Michael Ballack.

However, things turned out differently after Loftus-Cheek endured a disorganized 2022-23 season and failed to win at Chelsea until Tuchel was fired by the new owners.

Not shown his best in Italy, he claims.

After a promising first season at AC Milan, Loftus-Cheek’s second was a “disaster,” according to Italian football journalist Daniele Verri.

He was always harmed, he said. He played until he got hurt at the beginning of December, and then essentially reconnected at the end of April. His appendix was removed because he struggled with muscular issues throughout the season.

He never had continuity because he was out all the time, the club was going through a terrible season with managerial changes, and more importantly, he never had continuity.

He has a strong season going, and he scored in Lecce over the weekend. He hasn’t shown the best of himself yet, but he is still a player who needs to be seen in Italy.

Let’s see if Massimiliano Allegri, the manager, is correct when he says he and Youssouf Fofana have 15 goals in mind for the team.

I survived the Gaza genocide only to witness firsthand Western complicity

I’m writing from Paris, a city that’s been encrusted with blue and yellow. Ukrainian flags hang like moral deeds pinned to French facades all around me.

As a survivor of the genocide in Gaza, I just recently arrived in this city, leaving behind my nation. As a student at a French university, I had the honor of being expelled by the French government.

The curated grief, sanctioned empathy, and decorated silence that defined Paris, this so-called “city of liberty,” were what struck me first.

France is deeply depressed with Ukraine. On the other hand, Gaza must be whispered. Here, there is no visible Palestinian flag. It is feared, secret, and criminalized. If you’re lucky, you’ll discover it hastily sprayed like a secret, a shy declaration of solidarity.

Should I be surprised?

France, after all, was only rebranded as a colonial empire after it had abandoned itself. France’s hands are splattered with the blood of those who dared to resist it, from Algeria to Vietnam to Syria.

It wasn’t out of ignorance that France supported the Zionist movement in the 20th century, when it trained Israeli officers, and when it militarized a colonial-state on stolen land. Another colonial project came out of white solidarity.

Within a few hours, France condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It established new borders. On TV, it cried. Concerts were canceled and sanctions were put in place. Why? due to the whiteness of Ukraine.

France resents Israel, which bombs hospitals, starves children, cuts water, drops banned weapons, and grinds families to bone dust in Gaza, when it flattens entire neighbourhoods. It is contradictory. Hamas is to blame. It demands “context.” It gives Israel even more weapons.

Not a “conflict,” what is happening in Gaza. It is not “complicated” at all. It is a genocide.

Since October 7, 2023, more than 63, 000 Palestinians have died, according to official statistics, and according to scientific estimates, this number is in the hundreds of thousands. Women and children make up the remaining 80%.

More than 80% of the population can only eat one meal per day, frequently cooked grass or leaves, while the rest is barely surviving. Difficulty a day for the lives of those attempting to get aid. In a few months, 340 children and adults have already perished from starvation.

Every hospital in the north has been destroyed. Without anesthesia, children are having their legs amputated. Chronic disease sufferers are dying in large numbers because of a lack of medication and medical care.

The aid trucks are obstructed. Desalination plants use explosives. More than two million people have been displaced. There is still silence, though.

According to former Israeli officials, international human rights organizations, thousands of lawyers and other scholars, and even former UN officials, this conflict has violated every rule of international law.

Yet, we are instructed to lower our voices in France. According to what we are told, yelling “Free Palestine” might be anti-Semitic. People who proudly wave Ukrainian flags say our grief must be “balanced.” They protest Israeli colonialism while defending Russian imperialism. This is not neutrality, either. White supremacy is at play here.

Their moral exception has been found in Gaza. their perception. Their unneeded companion. Every newsroom avoids the news.

The truth is that Palestine lacks nuclear weapons, no ships, no jets, and no military. We currently have opposition. Hassan is not a military unit. It is the result of decades of apartheid, occupation, and abandonment. And while European leaders retaliate against Hamas whenever they see fit, they reject the occupation that led to its creation. They deny us the right to resist while glorifying the Ukrainian resistance, giving it weapons and praise.

Molotov cocktails are considered “heroism” in Ukraine. Stones are used as “terrorism” in Gaza. That is deceitful. White empathy is based on that formula.

Not a battle between two armies, as is happening in Gaza. One of the world’s most advanced armies completely wiped out an occupied population. It is a genocide supported by Western weapons, silenced by Westerners, and embellished by humanist lies.

France wants to pretend that it committed historical crimes against people who had ended formal colonialism. How do you explain the weapons, though? the immunity from diplomatic action? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to comply with the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court? the Paris protests that are pro-Palestinian being banned? Muslim students being watched?

I flew out of Gaza during a UN-arranged evacuation that included a number that was chosen from thousands of people. I was prohibited from carrying anything. No laptops are available. No publications. No recollections. just my phone and my backpack.

Soldiers looked at me as though I were a different person as I passed through Israeli checkpoints. It seemed like four decades after four hours in the desert. And now I’m standing in front of my city, admiring its streets, while my people are dying for daring to seek freedom.

Tell me that this isn’t just politics, please. It is discrimination. It is deceitful. From balconies with Ukrainian flags hung over the genocide of my people.

I dislike being pity. I want accountability. I want justice. Not as a competition, but as a truth, I want to see Palestinian flags hang next to Ukraine’s flags. Solidarity is not solidarity because it depends on skin color, borders, or geopolitical interests. It is supremacy.
