Jeremy Clarkson considering moving to Dubai due to ‘the horror of Keir Starmer’

In his most recent Sunday Times column, the 65-year-old former Top Gear presenter has been left fuming by the UK’s “broken future full of nothing about taxation, crime, and disease.”

Jeremy is talking about his potential departure from the UK.

TV star Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about whether he would consider leaving the UK, describing it as a “doomed” nation.

The former Top Gear presenter, 65, expressed his frustrations with the country’s “broken future full of nothing but taxation, crime, and disease” in his recent Sunday Times column. He pointed to the “flatlining” economy, “stagnant” housing market, and “ineffective” police force as reasons to consider emigration.

Clarkson, who also hosted The Grand Tour, has faced numerous challenges in 2025, branding it the “worst year ever” for his Cotswolds farm due to relentless heatwaves and drought. Recently, he disclosed that his farm has been under lockdown for at least two months because of a bovine tuberculosis outbreak among his cattle.

The columnist is the owner of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire's Diddly Squat Farm.

In the midst of these issues, Clarkson pondered whether he should seek sanctuary in places like Dubai, Europe, or Australia.

In his column, he wrote, “It’s simple to convince yourself that Britain is now an unsalvageable basket case, a country that has slipped into a pair of Fairy Liquid butter pants and is currently hurtling down the slide of doom into a broken future full of nothing but taxation, crime, and disease.”

Clarkson criticized the “forms and requirements” for moving to Australia, New Zealand, and America as “obvious choices” but claimed they were “tiresome”.

Before choosing Dubai as a potential option, he rejected other nations like Italy, France, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, and Switzerland.

“No income tax. Petrol 50p a litre. The police do what they’re” Clarkson penned, “What’s not to like? I used to enjoy Dubai back in the early Nineties when there were no people in it and only one hotel. But today, it feels like the bastard love child of Las Vegas and Mickey Mouse.”

Jeremy says it is best to
Jeremy says it’s better to “stay put” than leave the UK at this time.

The TV presenter argued that despite the UK’s current “awful” climate, it’s better to stay put than to relocate. “If you move abroad, in three-and-a-half years you will be living in another country, and God knows what it will be like there then.

In three and a half years, you’ll be surrounded by your friends and family, whereas if you stay here. He argued that the horror of [Keir] Starmer will have vanished.

This summer, Clarkson has faced a series of challenges at his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. In July, the motoring journalist revealed that the farm had been hit with the infectious disease, bovine tb, from a pregnant cow.

It’s “awful, it’s awful.” He told Times Radio that you have a test on the cows every six months, and after that, you sort of become blasé. It’s a real threat. The vet then says, “I’m really sorry this one’s failed,” as he did yesterday lunchtime.

So that implies that we are now completely locked up and that the situation is dreadful. Clarkson confirmed that the closure of his adjacent farm shop, which he had previously owned, is still “unaffected” by the setback and continues to be in operation.

Edo PDP Rejects Planned Council By-Elections, Calls Exercise ‘Illegal’

The state’s planned bye-elections process has been condemned by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, calling it “a kangaroo exercise.”

The party called the move “illegal, unconstitutional, and a blatant disregard of a subsisting court order” in a statement released on Monday by Chris Nehikhare, the party’s publicity secretary for the Caretaker Committee of the PDP in Edo State.

The party claimed that “the body or group of people parading themselves as the organizers of this exercise are unauthorised and lacked the authority to hold elections of this nature.”

Additionally, PDP pointed out that councillors’ mandates were already in place in each of the state’s 192 wards, and that they would not be effective until September 2026.

This democratic mandate cannot be stifled by fabricated processes, it remarked.

The party also claimed that the Edo State government “runs the state in complete disregard for democratic norms, in total disregard of the law, and in complete disregard of judicial pronouncements.”

The PDP claimed that the planned exercise was “nothing short of a civilian coup against the people of Edo State” and that it was intended to “seize control of our councils by hook or by crook, undermining the will of the people, and destabilizing grassroots governance.”

The party demanded that the government “retrace its steps, uphold the rule of law, and stop causing Edo to suffer an avoidable political crisis.”

Influencer and radio presenter Sam Thompson has confessed that he’s becoming increasingly “broody” as he contemplates his future and the prospect of starting a family with someone new.

The 33-year-old has recently been coming to terms with single life after being in a relationship with fellow Made in Chelsea star Zara McDermott for five years, before their split earlier this year.

Following the heartbreak, Sam has received tremendous support from family and friends, particularly his sister Louise and his podcasting co-host Pete Wicks.

During a conversation with Pete, 36, on their Staying Relevant podcast, Sam opened up about his evolving bond with his sister’s son Leo – an experience that has sparked deeper thoughts about fatherhood after witnessing the happiness it has brought to his sister and brother-in-law.

Sam revealed that while Leo has gotten older, he initially found it difficult to understand his role as an uncle. However, this has since become much clearer.

He explained, “I really struggled with trying to figure out what an uncle’s role in Leo’s life is because I’m like, “Where do I fit in?” We’ve only been friends this year, and it’s like we’re going to become best friends.

Sam continued, “I think the year that I’ve had has pushed me toward them in the best way,” referencing his turbulent year following his breakup with Zara.

I’ve been circling that place ever since. I took him for his first bike ride. That was fantastic. I now feel like I’ll have a place in his life from the moment I die, which is cool.

“I’m becoming drowsy. After Sam had previously stated he wouldn’t want to reveal his desire for children on his dating app profile, the star said, much to his mate Pete’s surprise, “I just feel like we’re getting there, I feel like I’m getting there.”

This isn’t the first time Sam has delved into personal topics on the Staying Relevant podcast, using the platform to voice his reaction to the budding romance between his ex, Zara, and former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson.

The actress previously mentioned the bizarre incident where his phone suddenly started to explode with messages after he initially believed he had done something wrong but later realized it was due to Zara’s subsequent sharing of a selfie with Louis, which confirmed their relationship.

He said: “I’m watching some YouTube video and my phone just starts blowing up. I thought I’d been cancelled!

You know when someone says, “Just checking in mate, is everything ok? ” when you’re like, “Madam, it’s dinged up. and I’m asking “What is going on? ” on my phone.

Trump claims India has offered to reduce tariffs on US goods to zero

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has criticized India’s relationship as being “very one-sided” and claimed New Delhi had offered to eliminate US tariffs.

In a social media post on Monday, Trump criticized New Delhi for what he perceived as a slanted economic relationship and India’s purchases of Russian weapons and oil, adding to the deterioration of relations between the two nations.

“We do very little business with India, but they do a lot of business with us,” says one expert. In other words, they “sell us” a lot of goods, which is their biggest “client,” but we “sell them very little,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“They have already made an offer to eliminate their tariffs, but it’s already too late. He continued, “They ought to have done that years ago.”

Trump has not commented on any of his most recent statements, and the US president has frequently made unfounded claims that other nations have offered US excessive economic concessions in response to the threat of high tariffs.

Trump’s latest attack on India is seen as a partner of great significance as the US attempts to strengthen ties with Asian nations skeptical of China’s growing regional influence.

One of the highest tariffs the Trump administration has ever announced against scores of foreign countries was recently imposed by the US, which also criticizes India for purchasing Russian oil.

Trump frequently urges foreign leaders to purchase more US products in fields like energy and weapons manufacturing.

He stated on Monday that “India purchases most of its oil and military products from Russia, but not very much from the US.”

However, India has reacted to Washington’s severe tariffs, saying that New Delhi “will never bow down nor ever appear weak” in its economic ties with other nations.

Trump’s aggressive efforts to reform trade with the rest of the world, which he has described as unilateral and unfair to the US, may be compelled to work with other nations to create more cooperative relationships as they look for alternatives to an increasingly unpredictable US.

Troops Rescue Nine Kidnap Victims In Sokoto

Nine kidnapping victims in Sokoto State were saved by Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) while several terrorists were neutralized in Zamfara State’s ambush.

The late on Monday night operation was conducted in response to reliable information regarding terrorist activity along Zamfara and the Sokoto States’ known crossing route, the Isa–Shinkafi–Kaura Namoda Road.

The terrorists attempted to use their captives as human shields after noticing the soldiers’ presence, according to spokesman for Operation Fansan Yamma, Captain David Adewusi, who made this disclosure in a statement on Monday.

He claims that the troops “methodically and decisively” killed a number of terrorists and let others escape with gunshot wounds.

A motorcycle, three mobile phones, two magazines containing 20 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, as well as an AK-47 rifle and two desert camouflage uniforms were recovered from the scene.

Adewusi added that Shinkafi Local Government Area officials had promised to take care of the victims’ safe reunion with their families after they were handed over.

Wales’ Evans condemns social media abuse over her look

Georgia Evans, the Wales ace, has received criticism for her appearance on the field.

The 28-year-old Saracens forward’s victory over Wales over the weekend put an end to their Women’s Rugby World Cup hopes of reaching the quarter-finals. She won her 42nd international cap.

During the 42-0 defeat in Salford, Evans earned praise from pundits for her ball-carrying, tackling, and work-rate, which frequently tie her hair back with ribbons during games.

However, she has responded to negative social media posts by saying that “a rugby player is no longer defined by your gender or what you look like.”

Evans continued, “It seems like my game day appearance seems to be offending some people, and I’m so sorry for that.

The biggest Women’s Rugby World Cup is taking place right now, with me, my team, and all the amazing female athletes from around the world celebrating the best of the best and being supported by thousands of people, including young boys and girls, who are finally seeing what is possible in this incredible game.

“Yes, Wales haven’t been at their best, but I’m not here to make any justifications for that.

What I’ll say is that my ability, my passion, or fight for this game are unrelated to what I choose to wear, including the bows in my hair, the tape around my arm, the eyelashes, and the full face of make-up I choose to wear.

Every boy and girl, regardless of their body type, shape, or appearance, has space and room in this game. A rugby player is no longer defined by their gender or appearance, which is not a rugby look. It’s childish, but to all those young girls, it’s a good reminder that you can’t be bothered by who you are in order to fit in a stereotype.

I’m bringing a little bit of Barbie to the party in an old-fashioned, man’s game.

“Thank you for all the support and love you have, non-fans,” to all those who aren’t fans. I won’t be changing, so don’t worry.
